A great suspense with a touch of romance and lots of family intrigue. like the original series of K19, or its British spin-off about MI6.
This seems to be a new spin-off series, blending in already known characters, if you are familiar with Heather Sloane’s work.

I loved this intense, edge of your seat, thrillride of a romantic suspense read. Deck and Mila are great characters that were easy to like and root for. It was just so easy to feel the attraction and chemistry simmering and sparking between these two. The well wriiten storyline will keep you fully engaged with this gripping tale of murder, mystery, drama, danger, action, powerful emotion, passion and nail biting tension. This was a terrific read and an excellent start to this exciting new series.
Starts with Decker driving home and see something on the side of the road and when goes to check it out it moans. Turns out to be a women and she says something and Decker does CPR but she dies. Then in chapter two you meet Mila and learn some things about her. The story drew me in and kept me reading to find out what is happening and I love the ending. I recommend this book!!!!!
I love protective heroes, and Decker is the best! Decked is the perfect start to The Invincibles series. The mystery surrounding the murder of Mila’s sister was well-written, and the unexpected twists kept me guessing. I can’t wait to read Edge’s story next!

This is the 1st book in Heather Slade’s new series The Invincibles and is was awesome. Some of the characters in her MI6 books are part of this story. Decker works in the King Alexander ranch with his best friend Quint who is married to Darrow. Decker is on his way home after returning from London when he spots a woman along side of the road. He calls 911 for an ambulance and the sheriff and begins CPR but the young woman doesn’t make it. Mila Knight has just lost her job, is about out of money and things are looking bleak and the. She receives a call from Texas telling her her sister, Sybil, has died and she needs to come to Texas to identify the body. Since Decker is the one who found Sybil, he offers to pick her up from the airport. The minute he sets eyes on her, he remembered her from the past how much he wanted to protect her. A well written storyline that draws you in from beginning to end. It’s a fast paced, action packed read with wonderful characters. There’s danger, suspense, trust issues, fear and twists and turns that keep your interest. Mila’s attraction to Decker grows and how safe she feels when she’s with him. I’m a huge fan of Heather Slade and highly recommend this book. Can’t wait for the next one!

A start to a great spin-off in another series. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Decker and Mila are working to find out the murder of her sister Sybil. A twist that is revealed but adds action to solving this. The other Invincible members are mentioned to helping so their stories will be a great read to find out the missions they have.
This is the story of Decker & Mila. It is full of suspense, murder, action and has a good story line. The story keeps you engrossed from beginning to end. Decker and Mila are aware of each other from when they were young and he protected her. Neither could get one another out of their minds when they meet for a second time. They have an off the charts attraction to each other. There are many twists and turns in this story and good plot. I can’t wait for the next one in this series.
Decked is the debut novel in Heather Slade’s new series,’The Invincibles’.
Although the start of a new series, the author expertly weaves strong links between her numerous series and we get to spend time with well loved as well as new characters.
The story of Decker and Mila is full of intrigue and has a mystery that needs solving. As one of the new ‘Invincible’ team Decker has access to resources that local law enforcement lack.
Mila and Decker were destined to be together and being carried along on their journey was a privilege. I’m so looking forward to more ‘Invincibles’ and their path to love.
Decked is the first book in a brand new series from the very talented Heather Slade. This is a story that will grab you from the very beginning. There are plenty of twists and turns that will have you hooked and turning the pages quickly to see what is waiting around the next corner. There is suspense, drama, danger and definitely some love. The characters are Decker a tough and rugged ranch manager and a freelance security and intelligence expert when he finds a woman on the side of the road who dies in his arms he soon meets the sister and feels very protective of the beautiful Mila who Is determined to find out what happened to her sister, with the Deckers help. This is where the story really takes you on one wild ride. This was a great story and I absolutely enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Can’t wait for more. I love this author, the characters and the people who love them. She couldn’t stand to be touched. It had been 9 years since the incident that caused her to run and the last time she truly felt safe. Her life is changed with one phone call. He had rescued her once. He remembered her with one look. It was the girl that made a permanent mark on his heart and she was back. Once again this author spins a tale. The only thing her books have in common is the type of work they do. Each book is new. Each story is fresh. Each character will find a way into your heart and you will fret with every move that puts them further and further in danger. An exciting action packed read that will share with you the pain of abandonment, abuse, neglect, deceit and betrayal. Decker will fight his own demons with this one because as much as he fights against it she owns him. It’s time for Decker to be decked in the best of ways.
“Decked” (The Invincibles Book 1) by Heather Slade is a terrific read. I loved Decker and Mila’s story. This is a wonderful start to this new spin-off series. This story has romance, interesting and entertaining characters, twists and turns, cowboys, security, intelligence, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series in “Edged”. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, security, and series.
Captivating story with a sexy cowboy!
In this return trip to the King-Alexander Ranch, we are reunited with ranch foreman Decker, who is taking on new responsibilities with a few new faces as these four highly-skilled men form a new security company. As the contracts are being drawn up, Decker discovers a dying young woman on the side of the road. The investigation into who she is and who wanted her dead leads him to a face that has haunted him for years – Mila, a music instructor currently living in Boston after leaving Texas nearly a decade before.
This complex story is full of surprises, deadly secrets, corporate espionage, and family drama. There’s nothing predictable here, not even the growing relationship between Mila and Deck. While we do get their HEA by the end of the book, the road they take getting there is not at all what I’d expected. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the shocking conclusion.
The writing was superb, giving us all the background and history we need without overwhelming the present circumstances. The emotional impact cannot be overstated; both Decker and Mila bare their souls to each other, forging a connection stronger than either of them alone. I absolutely swooned at Decker’s attempt to explain why he still felt like he was working alone when he had Mila right beside him – it made perfect sense even though he couldn’t find the words to express it. The raw honesty brings a level of authenticity to this story that is rare in the romance world.
If you’ve read any of the other books in this author’s world, you don’t want to miss this one. It’s everything a romance should be, and everything an action-suspense story can be, all in one fabulous story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Wow what a stunning start to this new series! There is so much content, lots of action and intrigue plus extremely interesting characters. This is an extremely well written, entertaining and enjoyable book and one I highly recommend.
Decker Ashford is the manager at the ranch owned by Quint Alexander from some earlier books. But Deck is not only the manager there….. Deck is Burns Butler’s protégé and a part owner. When he is heading home from a trip and stumbles across a dying young woman, he ends up meeting her sister and trying to help her figure out what happened. Mila is not your normal Heather Slade kick ass ‘heroine’. Mila comes back to Texas from Boston to ID her sister and then to make arrangements. Mila had just lost her job in Boston, has a creepy landlord that she considers a friend, and had recently lost her grandfather there in Texas – she is a bit overwhelmed at this point and struggles at first to keep it all together. Thank God for Deck and his protective side buoying her up until she gets her stuff together. This book is jam packed with intrigue, suspense and adventure. A definite roller coaster ride with twists and turns that you will not see coming! These two main characters share an explosive chemistry plus a little more! This is truly storytelling at its best! You need to read this one today!
