Decker is the perfect mix of alpha, take charge, compassionate and wounded man that you can’t help but love him while Mila is the strong, independent but now lost woman who has lost her sister and now her past is finally catching up to her. There is action, mystery, twists, loss and a slow burn attraction that keeps you hooked. I can not wait to read more in this series and get to know the rest of the The Invincibles team as they all intrigue me!!

This book is everything I expect from Heather Slade’s books. Decker is an incredible sweetheart. Mila is so loveable but strong and smart. They make an great couple. There is just the right amount of sexual tension between them to keep the romance hot along with an excellent story setting up the next set of hot guys and great women. There are some references to characters from previous series but nothing that detracts if you haven’t read them. I Decker is one of my new “book boyfriends” and I hope to see him again.

Another wonderful series from Heather starts her all of her series have common factors and cross over so each can be read separately but do yourself a favour read the,m all you won’t be disappointed

Decked is book 1 in Heather Slade’s The Invincibles series and gets the new series kicked off with a bang! Decker Ashford, Ranch Manager for the King-Alexander Ranch belonging to Z & Quint, both featured in Heather Slade’s K19 Security series, finds himself on the cusp of new endeavors as he is being recruited to join a newly forming security firm while at the same time discovering a woman who literally dies in his arms. Mila is devastated to learn her sister has died and leaves the comfortable escape of big-city life in Boston to return to her small, hometown to get to the bottom of what happened. Things get ever more interesting from there with numerous twists and turns in plot that kept me flipping pages trying to figure out how everything fit together. I have loved Heather Slade’s K19 series and was glad to see some minor carryover characters but see this new series is well on its way to being great all in its own!

An intense emotional and SEXY storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and turning page after page throughout the whole book.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters and still manage to make romance feel so fresh!
This is a great book, filled with suspense and romance and the most unbelievable plot twists! Love how fast-paced this is, and yet there’s still plenty of character development.
I love how this story is so full. It is full of mystery and suspense and drama and coming along for the ride is Decker and Mila and their simmering chemistry. The story telling is epic. The writing is smooth and flows logically and easily. The characters, all of them, have such dimension and realism. A really good book.

I’m so excited about this new series by Heather Slade. The Invincibles is going to be out of this world.
Decked is filled with wonderful characters, lots of action and some super steamy love scenes, but as with most of Ms. Slades books it it packed with suspense and a great story. Decker and Mila are out to find out who killed her sister, but that’s not all they find.
Decker Ashford has a chip on his shoulder. He’s a man that keeps cool in the most dangerous operations. Mila Knight left behind her small town life for the big city. A woman’s death brings them together and their past brings up memories neither one wants to uncover.
Decked is a powerful story about learning to trust your intuitions. Each page turned will bring you closer to understanding why these two are perfect for each other. Everyone except them can not only feel it but see it as well. Its a story of retribution, pain and how to learn to trust someone to love you enough to help you through even the darkest moments. This town has all the quintessential hometown images that we all will enjoy spending some time in. Old friends become new again and family takes on a very different meaning.
Decker has to protect Mila not only from herself but from some dark forces trying to kill her. Mila is twisted into a long time debt that her life will depend on. Ms. Slade has woven an interesting world that you will want to definitely join. The first in her upcoming Invincible series; be sure to add it to your to be read first list.
I didn’t know what to expect from this book, but after reading it, it was nothing but phenomenal. Decked has you enthralled from the first page until the last. Mila and Decker are amazing characters and the storyline is amazing. This is the kind of book I love for. I’m excited to read more from this series.
A story full of mystery and suspense with some romance added to spice it up. The characters are well-developed and their past adds to the plot. Mila and Decker are great together. A great start to the Invincibles Series. Heather Slade always delivers a great story.

Decker Ashford is the manager of King-Alexander Ranch. If you’ve been reading the other series by Heather Slade you’ll recall this is Z and Quint’s ranch.Decker is returning from England, mulling over a possible partnership in a new security company venture when he discovers a woman in a ditch at the side of the road. When the woman dies in his arms he takes on investigating her death.
Mila is happy with her life in Boston, she has her teaching and her apartment while small was homey, then she finds her contract wasn’t being renewed for the fall semester. Adler, her landlord and friend takes her out so she’s not alone and just when she’s starting to feel better a phone call changes everything.
Adler makes the arrangements for her to travel to Texas to identify her sister’s body, not realizing things were about to change in his friendship with Mila.
It’s Decker who meets Mila at the airport, and he pretty much ignores Adler. But what really catches Adler’s attention is that Mila doesn’t flinch away from Decker’s touch.
I was really happy with Mila’s attitude towards Adler after seeing her sister’s body. He was insensitive and rude, which proved to me I was right to dislike him from the start.
On the other hand, Decker was kind and sympathetic and offered her a place to stay. The fact she lets him touch her is major, that she feels safe with him, even better.
There’s many questions about Mila’s family especially her father. But also about Adler and his parents. I’m not sure I like Deck’s partners in Invincible Security but we’ll see. Actually the only one who gets to me is Rile…yeah it’s gotta be why he got that name. They are necessary in figuring out what happened to Sybil.
Lots of twists and turns as the pieces start coming together, as well as a few scary moments. I also loved the way Deck and Mila’s relationship grows from simmer to sizzle.
I can’t wait to see who Heather pairs up in the next book in this series.
Deck and Mila have to find who murder her sister and decide if the feelings that are drawing then together are real or just because of the problems each is trying to work through. The past keeps coming back to haunt Mila, maybe Deck’s love and protective side will make her whole again! A great book!!
I enjoyed this book with its well developed and engaging characters. To the smooth flowing storyline.

What a rush! Decked is the story of Decker Ashford, a part-time security expert who spies a dying woman on the side of a Texas highway. Following her death, the woman’s sister, Mila Knight, is notified and flies in from her home in Boston. Decker meets her at the airport in Texas, only to discover that he once knew her in grade school. As the investigation heats up, Mila finds that she did not know her family at all. Secrets come to light that shatter all the things she believed were true, leaving her with more questions than answers.
Heather Slade has woven a tale of murder, money and hatred into a brilliant story that will keep you on edge. She hooks you from the opening paragraph and doesn’t turn you loose until the last word. Fabulous whodunit!
This was my first Heather Slade read but certainly will not be my last! I absolutely loved Decker. There is amazing chemistry between Mila and Decker is smoking hot but there is just so much happening that it keeps the sexual tension high with a slow burn romance. You get it all in this story; drama, suspense, action, slow burn steam, and a wonderfully written book with strong characters and an HEA.

From the first chapter when a women dies in Decker’s arms saying she’s running from someone who was trying to kill her, this book had me hooked trying to solve the mystery, which just got deeper and more involved as the story went on. I loved that Mila played the piano because I took lessons once too, but was never close to her skill level. Decker was so patient with her sensing that she had been hurt in the past with her fear of being touched. I also liked that he had a connection to her from when they were kids. I loved that he went from being an abused foster kid to making a successful life for himself with Z and Quint at their ranch, and being asked to be part of a new independent intelligence group, whose members were diverse and intriguing and I look forward to hearing their stories in future books.
Thought this would be a fun read a bit of a mystery and some romance along the way. Deck/Decker is described as funny and cocky…he’s portrayed more as taciturn than funny. Mila vacillated between whiny and headstrong then back to needy whiny. I get that she just lost her sister and that can sucker punch anyone into not so normal behavior but she just couldn’t seem to make up her mind about what she wanted. A friend that she doesn’t like touching her is consoling her on her loss one minute she’s like I wish he wouldn’t touch me then next minute why isn’t he doing more to console me…WTH
Same thing with Deck, he doesn’t want to take advantage of her when she’s vulnerable so while they have heavy make out sessions he doesn’t want to rush things. He does let he know that but she’s like he’s not that into me, I want him to do more then again I’m not sure. Woman pick a lane and make a choice.
The author tried to ramp things up with lots of clandestine meetings, confidential information, loads of tech speak to include gadgets and shadowy mysteries but it just didn’t do much to bring this wooden story to life for me.
I just didn’t connect with either of the characters, didn’t feel the chemistry between these two.
