She’s pregnant with another man’s baby. He’s now the father to his little niece.A sexy romance with all the feels!Single Mom-To-Be Rule #1: watch out for those horny hormones. Oops. After a childhood of bouncing from one foster home to another and a series of failed relationships, I’ve taken matters into my own hands when it comes to starting a family. Or rather, someone else’s hand. And a … family.
Or rather, someone else’s hand. And a plastic cup.
I’d rather be a single mom than be let down again, and I’m definitely not looking for a baby daddy. That includes sexy workaholic game designer Wes Chiasson, thank you very much.

My software company has been my number one, two, and three priorities. But that all changes when I suddenly become the guardian of my three-year-old niece. Now my world has turned topsy-turvy with princesses and little-girl tea parties.
When Hannah Morrell needs a place to stay after the pipes in her apartment burst, I invite her to move in with my niece and me. Hannah is a pediatric nurse, and given my situation, who could ask for a better roommate?
Sounds easy. Right?
It is—until emotions get tossed into the mix. Because if there’s one thing history has taught Hannah, it’s that the people who’ve gained her love can’t be trusted.
And now I have to put my heart on the line to prove otherwise.

5 Star Review Decidedly By Chance (By the Bay #5) by Stina Lindenblatt
Decidedly by Chance is the first book that I’ve read by Stina Lindenblatt and although it is book five in the By the Bay series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone. Wes Chiasson and Hannah Morrell what a fantastic couple these two make. Add in Wes’s adorable niece, three year old Everly and you have a great story.
For the last year or so Wes has been a workaholic concentrating on building his software company. All that changes when he suddenly finds himself the guardian of Everly after the death of her parents.
Hannah, a paediatric nurse, was brought up in the foster system and has decided that the time is right to start her own family.
Having met through friends, Wes has always been attracted to Hannah. When Hannah finds herself pregnant and in need of a place to stay, Wes steps up.
I really enjoyed this story about friendship, family, love and romance. The chemistry between Wes and Hannah is intense.
There were times that my heart almost broke for Wes, Hannah and Everly. The little girl’s struggles were poignant and her innocent statements were heart breaking.
Ms. Lindenblatt certainly covered the issues and emotions of a lost little girl confused by the death of her parents. As a woman whose parents died when I was a child, this story really got to me.
Decidedly By Chance is a well written emotional story that will tug on your heart strings and is one I thoroughly enjoyed.

4.5-Star for Decidedly By Chance
This is the first book I read by Stina Lindenblatt & it definitely won’t be my last, I actually purchased the other 4 books in the By The Bay series after reading Decidedly By Chance. I didn’t expect it but was not only hooked but more or less blown away with this read, absolutely loved it. If you looking for sweet, with heart, some angst, a cutie pie definitely one-click & read this one. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Wes is totally swoon-worthy!
While I did receive an advance copy from the author via NetGalley, I am voluntarily leaving my own voluntary, unsolicited opinion with my review.
I’m a huge fan of Stina’s book and this one is packed with her signature steam and heart. I loved Wes and Hannah together and the evolution of their friendship into much much more. Also, Wes’s relationship with his niece will melt your heart!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is book five in the By the Bay series, but can be read as a stand-alone book. Wes has had the hots for Hannah since they met two years ago. He hasn’t acted on his attraction, and they have become friends. His brother and sister-in-law recently died and he is now the guardian to his three year old niece, Everly. Hannah has a tough life with a neglectful mother who eventually abandoned her. She ended up bouncing around the foster care system, never having a steady influence in her life. She decides that she wants a family, and since she has no man in her life, she goes the insemination route. When her apartment floods out, she ends up staying with her “friend” Wes and his niece Everly. This is a great take on the friends to lovers trope. I really loved Wes, he is pretty much the perfect guy. Hannah is a very insecure, and cannot see the perfect guy who is right in front of her. I loved them both and enjoyed the development of their relationship. This is my first book by this author, and I will definitely be reading the prior books in this series.
I really like the story. They are a great couple together. Not only do they have chemistry but they also have a strong friendship that you don’t see often in romantic stories. I really enjoyed reading this book and it has such a great ending.
Stina Lindenblatt knows how to make you feel all the feels!
There is a ton of emotion in this story and it pulls you from page to page as you hope for Hannah and Wes (and Everly!) to figure out what they want and need. As always the secondary characters are full of life and great foils for the leads. Another great read!
Cute story. Wes was swoon worthy who spent the majority of the book trying to convince Hannah to tear down her walls and let them be a thing. I get her objections and fear but by the 80% mark it was a little annoying. Lol. To the point that she moved out cause she was convinced he didn’t really live her but was convenient. Wes was awesome and so was adorable Everly.
I love every single Stina Lindenblatt books, but this topped the cake as my favorite! Oh my gosh, I laughed listening so hard. I cried so very hard and I WICKED SWOONED over Hannah and Wes!
You will fall in love with Hannah and Wes! I instantly was drawn first to each of them as individuals. They are both so selfless and kind. They put everyone first before themselves. Hannah and Wes are great friends too, so it makes you route for the to get together even more. These two do have it bad for each other but they can’t commit as Hannah is about to be a full-time mom. Crazy sounding right? More like absolutely adorable. Hannah has always wanted to be a mom. She grew-up not with the best home life herself, so she decided to get herself pregnant even if there is no significant other in her life. With Wes, he is raising his niece so he definitely has no time for love. But when life hands you lemons, or in Hannah’s case, her apartment is flooded, you (meaning Wes), offer her to stay with you, because Wes is an amazing man, friend and ultimate heart-throb. And who knows, sparks might fly or the reality of everyone of them fitting together and realizing they need each other.
I love Stina’s books and audiobooks so much. She is one of my all time favorite authors. This story was absolutely amazing and pulled at my heartstrings. An absolute must read!!!
This was a really cute book. A pregnant heroine. A single dad (in a way) hero and a friendship that turns into more. The banter between the characters really had me devouring the story. It was easy and never seemed forced. Add in steam, a great cast of secondary characters and I really enjoyed this story.
There were times when I wanted to scream at Wes and Hannah to get it together. (More so Hannah) There was a very slow burn aspect and I loved it. Everything seemed to flow naturally for them.
Overall it was a good story and I look forward to going back and reading the other books in this series with the secondary characters getting their spotlight. It was a heart felt read with great themes and lovable characters. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I enjoyed reading Wes and Hannah’s story. There were a few bumps in the road but everything came together in the end, which is always a plus for me. As always I loved seeing the couples from previous books. Even though you can read this as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the other stories. Can’t wait for Jayden and Isabelle’s story!
Tremendous book.
I LOVE this series by Stina Lindenblatt and Wes and Hannah’s story is a perfect edition.
A friends to lovers/single parent read…both Hannah and Wes find themselves becoming parents in unconventional ways.Hannah through a sperm donor and Wes through tragic circumstances, becoming the guardian to his adorable Niece Everly, which turns his world upside down.
Despite Hannah being pregnant with a sperm donor Wes is uncontrollably attracted to her, there is still an underlining chemistry between them that has been brewing for a long time, but for Hannah giving into her feelings was difficult because of bad past experiences.Wes just has to find a way to break down the walls to her heart and convince her that they are meant for one another.
I could not get enough of this story and I was totally swept away by Stina’s words.
Romantic, funny and enthralling ,I thoroughly enjoyed reading this heartwarming book and I HIGHLY Recommend it to anyone who loves feel good romance.
5 brilliant stars for me.
This an easy and sweet book with very likeable characters!
I was lucky enough to have received an ARC copy of, Decidedly by Chance. I’m a big fan of Stina’s writing, and couldn’t wait to start reading it. It has a good storyline and great characters, Wes and Hannah have amazing chemistry, and Everly is absolutely adorable, and it seems like everyone knew that Wes and Hannah belonged together before they did. I loved this book and was very sad to reach the end, I thoroughly recommend you read it to.
Like expected this story did not let me down. Loved every minute of it. Loved how the lives of other characters continued from the previous books. This is definitely a story you start and can’t put down.
With every book Stina writes I become more hooked!!
In Decidedly by chance, We meet Hannah who grew up without a family and her one goal in life is to have a family. Sometimes we are required to take things into our own hands just like Hannah does.
Then there is Wes, who is a workaholic and a devoted uncle, who ends up taking care of his little niece Everly after losing his sister and her husband in a freak accident.
After a chance meeting outside of Hannah’s Ob/Gyn office, the ball starts rolling on this fiends to lovers to happily ever after.
Decidedly by Chance was a very different read to what I was expecting and I loved it.
This friends to lovers story is Book 5 in the By The Bay Series but is the first I’ve read and I had no issue with it being a standalone and was a beautiful romance story.
Wes and Hannah both have a lot going on in their lives, falling in love isn’t anything either are planning on. It takes them awhile to realise what they really want but its worth the wait.
This was my first Stina Lindenblatt’s book. This is the fifth book in By the Bay series. Wes and Hannah’s story is beautifully written. I loved it! They are great together, and their chemistry is strong. The kids are cute! The secondary characters are great. This is a beautiful friends to lovers, single parent romance. The storyline is original, emotional, and heartwarming. I love the Epilogue. I enjoyed reading this story. Now, I’m looking forward to read the first books in this Series.
4.5 Stars
I loved this book so much!! I couldn’t put this book down. This is the first book in the series that I’ve read and I can guarantee I’m going back to read the previous books. The characters are just awesome and they pulled me right into the book. Wes and his niece are so adorable together. Heart melting moments with those two. Though there is a sadness too with why Wes is his niece’s guardian. Then throw in Hannah who is making a life changing decision. Fate is working in Wes’ favor when they become roommates. Hannah won’t let her guard down because of her past she’s protecting herself from any future hurt. She needs to wake up because she may just let the future she’s always wanted slip through her fingers. I loved the group of friends in this one so much. It made me want to part of the group. You can tell how close they are by the ribbing they give each other, but have each others backs no matter what. I would highly recommend this one. It packs the heart and feels. It’s a make you feel good story that will leave your heart happy when you finish the book.
This was a super adorable! I loved Everly. She was an absolute hoot! But i seriously have loved this series from book one so this was anither great addition. I loved Wes didnt give up on his feelings for Hannah in the end! Cant wait to see whose next!
This book is all about the swoon! I couldn’t help but love how perfect Wes is and how he has a whole superman complex going on. He just can’t help but to try to step in and attempt to fix whatever is wrong in the lives of those he cares about. He steps in and takes care of his niece, doing everything he can to help her get through the tragedy that has fallen on them. He steps in to help Hannah, even when her circumstances might have made any other guy shy away.
Hannah, in her own right, is a strong, take charge woman. She decided on what she wanted in her life, and did what she needed to do, on her own, to get what she wanted. From getting through school, to impending parenthood, she did it all on her own, and didn’t have any thoughts to asking for help. Until she didn’t have a choice. What she thought she wanted, and worked so hard to make happen, didn’t exactly work out the way she intended. But her friends stepped in, helping out, even when she didn’t think she needed it!
This book just goes to show, family is what you make of it. It doesn’t have to be by blood, good friends will be there when no one else will. And sometimes, love is waiting for you when and where you least expect it! The By the Bay series has been one amazing story right after the other, and Wes and Hannah fit right in with this amazing group!
