DECEPTION, book THREE of FIVE in Aleatha Romig’s INFIDELITY series.
“Infidelity – it isn’t what you think”
It all began in Del Mar, a chance meeting with a single rule–one week only.
Or did it?
Lennox ‘Nox’ Demetri and Alexandria ‘Charli’ Collins had every intention of following their agreement but rules are made to be broken. In CUNNING they are reunited with Nox setting down new rules for … Nox setting down new rules for the game and Charli having no choice but to follow them.
Now, once again, the game has changed. Nox and Charli’s hot sensual encounter has grown into something more but it is threatened with secrets and regrets. Is it their love and intense sexual chemistry that’s pushing them together or something darker, a puppetmaster behind the scenes pulling the strings on their love affair?
Shadowy villains lurk around each corner and everyone is suspect as Nox’s and Charli’s pasts collide with the present and threaten to compel them back to their predestined fates.
Can deals brokered in the past be negated by something as pure as love and as steamy as the attraction shared by Nox and Charli? Or was it all a deception—starting with that very first meeting?
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists and turns, the depth of this epic romantic suspense continues to reach new levels as past and present intertwine. The Infidelity series will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next.
Have you been Aleatha’d?

This series is wonderfully electrifying.
The story is utterly addictive and the plot has the undeniable power of making you forget you have a life to manage.
Charli and Nox were enthralling in a deep way. They held their stage with as much grace as strength and I couldn’t divert my eyes from the book.
Their chemistry is even more off the charts, their respect and support are ever growing and there’s no alternative but to love them. They were equally strong, even in their vulnerability, and it was wonderful to watch them trusting and respecting each other. They were true partners.
There was this primal connection between them and it wasn’t only carnal (although that was strong as heck). It was emotional and mental.
They had so much power over one another, yet they never abused it. They nurtured each other as much as they nurtured the strong relationship they were building.
The secondary characters were just as captivating, each in their own way. They brought so much to the story. There was intrigue, deception, helping hands and so many things that would confuse me and keep me on my toes.
When I thought I was finally understanding what was going on and to where things were headed, many more questions would round the corner to slap my face, catching me completely off guard.
I’m addicted.
I just loved whole whole series
Aleatha has a way of bringing all her characters to life and making you connect with them. Hate or love, sometimes both in the same breath. I’m becoming more invested in Nox and Charli, but I’m feeling more strongly about Adelaide and Alton, as well. As the pieces start to fall together at the end of the book, I’m so impatient to know where it’s going! I have my suspicions, but I can’t wait to know if I’m right.
I am blown away by this series. They grabbed me from the first page and never let me go. I hate the cliffhanger ending, just because I am impatient and don’t want to wait for the next book. Such intense drama in this story. Read this now.
Have you ever watched that old movie Dynasti? First thing I got when starting this series, was oh man Dynasti all over!
I couldn’t remember the detail about that movie, but Infidelity series brings family secrets, power, passion, lies, deception, evil and love in the perfect mix.
In Deception, secrets start to unravel slowly, but then being Ms. Romig love to torture her readers…she added more Twist. More WTF is happening kinda moment. More intense. Buf I must say I am dissapointed about the minimize steamy scene between my man and his girl.
I mean, come on… How can the author leave that sweet delicious steamy details in THAT scene when they should be doing… That!
I’m dead. I just died when she leave that scene without further details.
And the fact that Adelaide and Oren, their mom and dad make so much appearance and make my man and his girl loosing pages, I kinda got bummed.
OK I understand secrets must unravel from it’s source and all but still… My man and his girl…
And that ending!
Omg I’m dying to read the next book!
Omg we have been Aleatha’d on this one!! Book 3 of the Infidelity series (which is not about cheating, although I wouldn’t mind that lol). We get more of Nox and Charli’s hmmmm, shall I say game? Adventure? Story? So many twists and turns making you wonder if everything is as it seems. Can’t wait to start Book 4!
Book 3 in this series, and I loved it!! Lots of plot twists and background intrigue. Nox and Charli together are fab, steamy scenes aplenty. Argh the ending!!! 4 months to wait for the next book – oh dear!! Patience is not one of my strong points!!
Effing love this series! Aleatha Romig is a master weaver of storytelling. Just when you think you have the plot figured out she throws another stitch in the pattern, making the story that much more intense, watch out she can write the perfect setup for murder.
Deception-Book 3 in the Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig is my favorite book thus far. This series is NOT about cheating. Book 3 is a seamless transition back into the world of big business, intrigue and the lives of Nox and Charli, our two main characters. Both characters struggle to move forward with one foot still holding them in the past. Deception answers many questions looming large from Books 1&2 while creating more questions, leaving the reader desperate for answers. Aleatha Romig is an author who seamlessly crafts a complex, enticing story, fills it with characters that captivate, and takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Her Infidelity Series is a tantalizing, delicious read. Buy a ticket and take the ride—get Aleatha’d! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Batman is back and so is the bat plane!!!
Just thinking of Nox gives me chills- but when he starts to talk- he sets my body on fire with his sexy and sinful mouth!!! I was given the honor of getting a sneak peek into the Infidelity world when Deception hit my Ipad early this week. Deception is the third book in the Infidelity series. It is true Aleatha style- The more answers that are discovered- the more questions we ask. Who is who- who can be trust. Who is the biggest threat and who has the most to lose?
As each chapter unfolded I find myself falling in to the deep abyss of Nox Demetri- drowning in his clear blue eyes. Nox swears he will never lie- he will only tell Charli the truth- but is it the whole truth. Is it a lie when you omit to tell the whole story- even if you think you are protecting someone? Nox has yet to reveal all the secrets from his past and his past is catching up to him.
Charli is a survivor- and not willing to accept deception especially from the man who sworn to always be honest. Strong and determined, Charli is willing to fight for what she believes in- but has she put her trust into the wrong people?
Nox and Charli agreed to one week- no more in Betrayal. Nox may have changed the rules in Cunning- but once again the rules have changed- and this time- Charli has made another rule in Deception. Will Nox follow Charlie’s new rule or will Nox changed the rules again.
Deception is hot, sexy and leaves us begging for more. Aleatha’s characters come to life – with each page- the story builds and climbs to new heights. Charli and Nox are not characters but friends- no family. You want to be there to help them- love them and fight with them. They reach into your heart becoming each beat as it passing through the chamber overfilling as you are cheering, crying, laughing and loving them. They come alive- and continue to live in your heart and soul. Their story continues to play in your mind long after the book ends trying to figure out who is the most deceitful among them all. Not everyone is who you think. Love can turn to hate- just as easy as hate turns into love- as secrets are revealed.
Aleatha Romig has a natural gift of writing- she can build a scene leading you to water- but never actually give you a drink- yet you feel refreshed and satisfied. She sets the scene and brings you to the edge, than allows your imagination take over allowing the story to continue in your heart and mind where the words left off.
Infidelity Series is page turning and intriguing-
Captivating! This author really knows how keep you on the edge of your seat with every twist and turn.
Once again Aleatha spins an enigmatic tale of secrets, lies an manipulation In the third instalment of this series. As we learn more of the history of the two families and see how their paths have crossed previously.
If you are reading this review then you will know what I’m saying. This book takes suspense to a new height. Aleatha is queen of angst, mystery and filling a book with characters you just want to hate as much as champion. I just fell in love with the characters of Charli / Alex & Nox… he is my new BFF. So alpha, dominant and controlling. Charli has a sassy mouth and sharp wit. Together they make a formidable team.
The book finishes in a cliff hanger and I’m so glad I waited until they were all out until I read them!!
Aleatha’s books are always the hardest ones to review. They are full of suspense, twists, turns, clues, misdirection… I can never seem to find words without telling you exactly what the book is about. To be honest, even if I wanted to tell you, I couldn’t.
This is the third book in the Infidelity series. Now first, let me explain something. If you haven’t read any of the books yet, you need to understand the the word Infidelity is NOT what you think. Not even close. I can’t tell you just what it does mean. If you have read any of Aleatha’s books, you know that nothing is ever as it seems. So just keep that in mind.
Aleatha has spun yet another web that seems to get bigger and bigger in every chapter she writes. Every time I think I am connecting the dots, Aleatha throws yet another wrench in the story that makes me question everything I thought I knew.
I am in awe of Aleatha’s ability to write such long series with everything eventually falling into place. I want to curl of in her brain and take notes. She is, by far, one of the most talented writers. Her stories are so unique and mind-bending. I can’t seem to ever get enough of them.
This book keeps your attention and keeps you guessing about what’s going to happen next. It’s unpredictable and keeps your interest and it such a page turner. I couldn’t put it down
Some of my reactions while reading:
*swoon* #didsonNoxstill
*What is going on?!?!*
*Who can I trust anymore???*
*swoon some more*
*I LOATHE Alton!!! He is scum!*
*O.M.G I NEED ENTRAPMENT NOW!!! That cliffy is KILLING me!!!*
If you by chance read my review for book 2, CUNNING, then you would realize that my reactions are very much the same because O.M.G. Aleatha Romig is the BOMB at twisting and turning this story and its plot in a sorts of crazy directions! And the reading NEVER knows what direction she is going to send us in…it’s like Alice falling into the rabbit hole…where are we going to end up?!?!?
Once again, the story takes us back and forth (past to present) and paints a much more vivid picture of these characters and their involvements in the story, but at the same time all the “past” POV’s “muddy the waters” and make the story that much more confusing! For me, DECEPTION seemed like the “character developer” installment. Aleatha Romig gave us MANY POV’s which completely added to the storyline and made it even MORE complex (which it was already complex to begin with *head spinning with possibilities*). Turning friend to foe and foe to friend! Characters you hated before have become likeable (except Alton, I still hate him!). Characters you thought you could trust, left you wondering “Are they part of the bad that’s happening to Charli and Nox?” We are left with SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! What I’ve learned from this book is, YOU CAN’T TRUST ANYONE, no one, zilch!!!! (besides Nox and Charli/Alex of course).
Everything about this series is PHENOMENAL and I would recommend it to any one that is breathing! *lol* I am THAT positive anyone and everyone would love this series as much as I do! DECEPTION is well titled because this book is just that…deceiving! Everyone seems to be deceiving someone at some point, whether it be intentional or not. Oh man, I cannot wait to see where Aleatha takes us next because DECEPTION ended in the holy grail of cliffy’s!!! *why, oh why do you do this to us Aleatha?!?!* If you haven’t picked up this book, DO IT NOW! You will not be disappointed!
“Secrets weren’t secrets unless they were hidden away. Those things that we shared openly, that we talked, laughed, and even cried about, couldn’t hurt us because they were out there for the world to see. It was the things that we kept hidden, that we didn’t share, that lurked in the shadows—those held the power to hurt, harm, and even destroy.” –Charli.
5 “deceptive” stars!
Loved the series.
There was a lot of anxiety, and bad situations in these books. There were also some good times and great passion. But mostly anxiety. But I loved the characters and the struggles they went through to overcome everything.
This series BLEW me away! Scandalous, steamy, edgy and unputdownable!
Read: 2/2/2020
Deception was the third book in the five book series Infidelity by Aleatha Romig. It was the continuation of Alexandria Charles Montague Collins aka Alex or Charli and Lennox “Nox” Demetri and cannot be read as a stand-alone.
Deception picked up exactly where Cunning, book two, left off. Although well written and intriguing, by book three, I was ready for the story to end. Again, it was well written, but the tale could have easily been condensed without losing depth and complexity. With that said, it didn’t take me long to get into the new twists that Romig unveiled. Each book brought new perspectives while still flushing out the old plots from previous books. And the secret plots just kept unraveling.
And as expected, there was another big cliff hanger as well as multiple unresolved plot lines. Now onto book four, Entrapment. I totally can’t wait to get to the end of book five!
I have been doing a re-read of this series as I bought these book a couple of years ago and read them all but did not review. At that time, I did not realize the importance of reviews to authors. I am so enjoying this re-read, Aleatha’s books are so good no matter how many times you read them!
This third book picks up exactly where the second book left off. Charli and Nox are still trying to work out their relationship and they grow tremendously in this book! They are not without their share of angst and problems, but their trust and faith in each other grows in leaps and bounds and they realize they are much more formidable together. We get much more of Oren and Adelaide’s history and finally find out what happened to Nox’s wife. But as things are revealed, more secrets and twists unfold to leave us more confused as to who is trustworthy and who is not. Alton and Bryce go more off the chain and Charli goes into dangerous territory to leave us with a zinger of a cliffy!
I am jumping right into book four, Entrapment, to get more Aleathaed!!!! This is my favorite series by her and one of my favorite ALL TIME!!!! You have to read this!!!!
Book 3.
We’re bang in the middle of the intriguing tale of Infidelity. From Tobacco farms of Savannah to dark underbelly of politics and illegal world of New York, starting from generations before, impacting generation ahead.
not all is what it seems,. It is optical illusion.
Charli is again at crossroads. She asked a question to Nox in the end of Betrayal.
He said – I can’t !!!
Deception picks up after I Can’t.
Explains why or why not. But the knots are getting more tangled and more intricate. Aleatha manages to put in twists and turns that boggle your mind.
Lennox’s character is reveling it’s layers. His past is catching up to him.
Alton and Bryce are as devilish as ever. Charli seems like a doe caught in the Crosshands . …literally.
It’s thoroughly enjoyable roller coaster ride.fasten your seat belts and try not to scream !!!!
