It’s only pretend… but this lie is starting to feel so real.I’m a girl from Amish country. That means I was supposed to sit down, shut up, and follow orders. That’s not me. I’m a bad bitch, and I left that life for good. Now I own my own company, and I call the shots.I never wanted a man to tie me down—and I’m never getting married. But my parents are in town to make amends, and I just need one … amends, and I just need one little lie to ease the tension.
A fake boyfriend. Just for one night. And it’s only pretend.
Justin:
I don’t trust anyone. That’s not how I built my billion-dollar fortune.
And I don’t date. Casual encounters only—and I never share my real name.
When Sarah walks into my life, it’s no different.
My first mistake is agreeing to her little game.
Fool her parents once, and then her friends, and now we’re falling in bed together,
And she’s screaming my name.
But I don’t want the wrong name on her lips.
This whole fake boyfriend thing has gone way off the rails,
And we’re caught in a web of lies together.
When she sees me for who I really am—will she leave?
Or will she see the broken man inside and give me a chance at love?
Deception is a 60k+ full length novel with no cliffhangers, no cheating, lots of humor, heart, and good Amish cooking. It’s the fun beach read you’ve been hoping for!

At sixteen, Sarah had a plan: start high school, graduate college, then begin her own business and, oh yes, never marry! Twelve years later she is founder and CEO of PinkBook, a media company. To date, it’s worth between 200-400 million dollars. I’d say, “mission accomplished.”
The woman is intelligent, confident and accomplished and stunningly beautiful but she is missing one thing, and she knows just how to remedy that situation. She walks into a bar, surveys the customers and moves directly toward a table occupied by two gentlemen, and makes direct eye contact with one of them, then makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Bold and beautiful, she had him at hello and by the time she made her pitch, he was putty in her hands…and so the story begins.
The author has presented her readers with an unusual story. We are given glimpses into their current lives of Justin and Sarah, as well as a trip back in time to let us know what happened that brought them to where they are today. So many things could have derailed both of them, but strong will, intelligence and determination moved them through life in unexpected ways. There will be struggles, secrets and hidden agendas that cause havoc and somewhere along the way, barriers will shift. It is a lovely story that will touch the heart and gift the reader with many emotions…and it all started with dinner where he meets her weird parents.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Great book, one I will probably find myself reading again and again.
This was a fast read and in my opinion a can’t put it down book. I had things figured out at about 70%, but I believe most won’t see the twist coming. You have Sarah a smart, independent and successful woman. She comes from a very different background, it is far from typical that is for sure. She is also loyal and hardworking and does everything so she does not have to depend on a man. Justin is a self made billionaire who has made his money buying struggling companies and selling them off. He is smart and owns a lot of things, but once he meets Sarah he discovers there is something missing in his life. Lexi Whitlow wrote a story full of lies, betrayals, espionage and lots of hot steamy sex. There is faith, family and loyalty also included. Lexi Whitlow did wrap the story up very nicely and even brought a tear to my eye. I really enjoyed this story and in my opinion Lexi Whitlow did not disappoint. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
