Marsh is part of a security/PR firm and a former US Marshal. He is estranged from his father and trying to recover from a recent lapse in judgement. Ayesha is an artist used to taking care of herself. Her doting grandfather wants her to have a bodyguard when it appears his past could affect her safety. When Marsh is asked to protect her how will their black and white mix?
I liked this story! The characters are realistic in dialogue, thoughts and actions. Marsh and Ayesha are strong as individuals and you know when they get together – exciting things are going to happen! There is mutual attraction but since they both have secrets – a relationship will be a challenge. Great supporting characters in friends and family as well. (I will go back and read the other books in this series for more on Marsh’s previous lapse in judgement.) “Deceived” is a thoughtful and impassioned journey of a couple earning each other’s trust.

Marsh has trouble trusting after his ex hurt him and almost destroyed his company ALIAS. His estranged father asked him to protect his friend’s granddaughter Ayesha. She’s a stubborn feisty artist who is caught up in a scandal from her grandfather’s past. She’s secretive and won’t tell Marsh why she is being threatened and what she really wants when she agrees to use his PR/security firm. This was a steamy romance with plenty of action, funny, and romantic moments.

I enjoyed this romantic suspense story centered around art and The Art World. When Ayesha’s beloved grandfather is threatened, she decides to do whatever it takes to save him. Saving him might mean breaking the law and getting caught will put an end to all her artful aspirations.
When her grandfather’s longtime friend asks his estranged son Marsh to help her, she’s less than enthusiastic. His instincts tell him she needs him, even if she doesn’t know it yet. When trouble finds her, he’s in the right place at the right time.
Ayesha is an enigma, and Marsh can’t afford another duplicitous woman in his life.

This is a quick moving story with interesting and likable characters.
There was a bit of suspense which added to the story line
A good read
I read this as a standalone but believe it would have been better had I read the previous stories and had more background to the characters.

Ayesha is an artist who was given to her grandfather at the age of thirteen. Her parents couldn’t put up with how she was at the time. She loves her grandfather unconditionally and has to do something against the law to protect him. Enter Marsh from the firm ALIAS. Their business is helping people to safety through witness protection. Now they take on PR for Ayesha for an exhibition she is doing. Little does Marsh know that Ayesha is lying to him. Can he forgive her? Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Marsh is trying to redeem himself and his company but as the story unfolds, he learns that trust is a slow, hard journey. Ayesha is a prodigy whe3n it comes to painting. She was raised by her grandparents and is trying to write a wrong from years ago. Marsh is called in to help but is working with only half the facts. His company can’t afford any more bad publicity….but he can’t walk away. You don’t have to have read the earlier books to enjoy this book. But, you will want to once you get started

Story is thought-provoking and magnetic. It was a pleasure to read this story. I don’t think I read the previous story and this one didn’t really feel that gap enough for me to be a stand-alone, it’s really not enough to be confusing just made me wonder what happened. Marcus’ demeanor was rather calm most of the energy & emotional pull came from the dilemma on her family history. Although their attraction is intense, the plot wasn’t as intense as I was expecting, thankful for the smooth sailing, I’m not a fan anyway of the gore that I sometimes find in this genre. Deceived is the fourth book in the Alias series. I have been anxiously awaiting Marsh’s story and it did not disappoint. Marsh and Aisha were a combustible couple with explosive chemistry. This book was more about the family dynamic than the suspense but, it still packed a punch. I can’t wait to read the next book.
