Addy and Olly start out as a distraction, a fling. It really shouldn’t have been more, besides the fact they started with lies. Besides the fact they live across an ocean from each other. Man she does not have a good track record with men. I kind of loved seeing him such a mess over her because I felt he deserves it. This was almost a 4 star read for me until a twist reveal that was so unexpected, bumped this book right up to 5!
“Time may be free, but it’s also priceless. Don’t waste it on people who don’t make you want to freeze time and live in this moment forever.”
Deceit is the best book that came out from under Ava Harrison’s pen! I’m in love with this story and Oliver who completely stole my heart. Suspense, steam, angst! Gaaah, I was totally drawn into this story and I was eagerly awaiting the course of events. And even though Ava gave me the twists and turns that captured my heart, she also soothed my soul with a beautiful happy ending. I read romances exactly for such stories!
Addison Pierce is a strong and independent woman who’s doing great in a world dominated by men. However, there’s one man that got away and can’t be forgotten. When the time comes when her ex is about to marry another woman, Addison decides to leave the country to avoid a breakdown. And that’s how she lands in England, where accidental meeting at the bar with a sexy Brit named Oliver will teach her to live again. Sparks fly and the guard goes down. Unfortunately, Addison doesn’t know that developing relationship that makes her so happy is built on deceit and lies…
Oliver Blackthorn (ugh, even his name sounds sexy!) is a perfect British heartthrob. I love male characters who leave the party and womanizing path for the right woman, who brings them to their knees. He was charming AF, sexy AF and totally swoon-worthy! Where his lies were the reason he lost Addison, I can completely understand his reasoning for what he did. It shows that he’s loyal to a fault and will stop at nothing to help his loved ones. And when the time came to get his woman back, he showed incredible determination and persistence.
Addison is a type of heroine that I truly love! Strong and independent, but not afraid to admit her own mistakes. Sometimes she may be too stubborn, but a woman with her position can’t afford to show weakness and I can totally understand it. She’s a perfect epitome of #GirlPower!
Together Olly and Addie were magnificent! Their chemistry was electryfying and I couldn’t get enough of their sexy times. The steam was pouring out of the pages! It was wonderful to watch how Oliver was slowly tearing Addison’s walls down and teaching her how to live. It was really something beautiful.
All the stars for Ava for creating such an excellence! Deceit is all the things I crave in a good romance- interesting storyline, unexpected twists and turns, lots of steam and amazing characters. Flawless writing was a cherry on top for this book. I’m a fan of Ava’s books for some time and I swear that every new title is better than the last one. I’m thrilled at the thought what this author will give me the next time!
I always love when Ava comes out with a new book bc I know it’s gonna be amazing. Oliver is definitely my new favorite and I would like to know where I can find me a swoon worthy guy that does anything to put a smile on your face. I liked Addison but I found her a bit stubborn at times. And I want to just shake her a few times and yell “shut up and listen to the words he’s saying”. In all another great book from an amazing author.
A relationship built on lies isn’t made to last.
This book was filled with secrets, lies, lust, and passion.
Ohhh, Oliver, Oliver, Oliver.. mine. He is such a swoon worthy character. I fell in love with him from the first chapter.
Addison is such a realistic character. She is so strong. She has been through so much and still walks with her head held high.
These characters were so passionate about each other. They make you feel like you have hearts in your eyes whenever you read about them.
Addison and Oliver’s relationship is built off of a lie but only one of them knows about it. Can Addison forgive Oliver for his betrayal and deceit?
Addison is so over her ex. The ex who’s marrying someone else. So she invents a reason to get away. Thank God she did, because it was while she was on her excuse of a trip that she met Oliver. The hot Brit who keeps calling her “love.” But is he really just Olly as he says he is? Or is his identity a close kept secret, the real identity one that will absolutely crush her heart when she discovers it?
Ava Harrison is sooo good at angst, and let me tell you, that angst is front and center in Deceit! But in the very best kind of ways. Olly and Addy are so intense, so passionate together, and the push and pull kept me on my Kindle for hours straight, dying as the angst of their love was making me anxious for when the inevitable truth would come out and devastate poor Addison’s heart.
But, Ava did not let me down, so have no fear if you are like me and demand your romances have an HEA or at the very least, an HFN. And thank God because if anyone deserved a happily ever after, it’s these two whose story got to my heart. I will not soon forget the gorgeous, arrogant Brit and his love, Addison, the strong woman with walls thicker than Fort Knox!
Ava Harrison never ceases to amaze me with her books.
Oliver, Oliver, Olly I could not get enough of!!! *Swoon* I’m already obsessed with Carson, but I think Oliver might have taken his place….. lol
While Addison was her stubborn strong self and frustrated me at certain times, we see how Olly gets her to “live” I laughed, cried, wanted to throat punch somebody and expected the worse. Ava keeps you hooked from beginning to end and I can’t wait to see what she has in store next.
Deceit by Ava Harrison
5 Stars
Loved this story! Caught my attention throughout! Magnificent! Superb!
“Tainted by a memory of my father and the man he was.”
“He made his choice. This has nothing to do with you. He chose to lie. To be deceitful. He chose to use me. Hurt me. He chose to destroy me.”
Pure perfection! Highly recommend!
5 LOVE THIS BOOK STARS!! Ava Harrison has blown my mind again with her beautiful words. Olly and Addison’s story is perfection with sexiness, love, humor, lies, and some suspense. The story kept me turning pages and never wanting it to end. This book will be one of my favorites for 2019.
Lies, nothing ever good comes from them. A relationship built on lies can never last. What an incredible story of Addison and Oliver. He started out with the lies and never gave it a second thought But the more he found out about Addison the stronger his feelings for her went. He battled with himself because of the lies but deep down he thought he was doing the right thing. Would she ever see it that way. Then again would she ever find out. Once he got his land back he would never have to see her again. After all they live on different parts of the world. What he didn’t expect was the feelings that he began to develop for her. His lies were because of the only woman he ever loved, his mom but could Addison be a woman he loved as well.
This story will have you glued to every single word. You will not be able to put it down. Ava Harrison does an awesome job with their story. Truly amazing. A definite 5++++star read. One of the best she has ever written.

You’ve got amazing books, and then you’ve got Ava Harrison books. She is in a league of her own and Deceit is the prime example of why. It was incredible,… No, no… Actually, there is no word for how good this book was. I knew that going into this, it was going to be amazing, but I did not expect it to consume me the way it did. I did not sleep. Once I had picked it up, I couldn’t put it down, and now… Now I am paying or it, but damn was it worth it.
This book, the plot, the characters, the plot twists, the mystery, the tension, the angst… . I was addicted from chapter one.
Oliver was a heartthrob, a charmer, a bit arrogant at times, a character and the main male lead I couldn’t help but be drawn to, I was completely smitten with him. But he was far from perfect, but I think that’s what pulled me in so much.
Addison was my dream female lead, she was every I look for in a heroine. She was strong, independent, strong-willed, but she had her downfalls, she made her mistake too, but she grew from them, and it was amazing to read what the author did with this character. I think Addison grew the most out of these two. She went from this heartbroken woman to this amazingly strong and independent woman as the book progressed.
Oliver and Addison together? Well, where do I begin? We first get thrown into Addison’s side, where she is completely devastated and heartbroken when the man she thought was the love of her life, was marrying someone else. On an attempt to try and fix her broken heart, or try and mend it the best she can. She takes off overseas to London where she meets Oliver. This whole relationship between them was built on a lie, and it was quite a big one, and as it always happens, one lie leads to two, and then three… Oliver hides his true self, thinking it was for the best, but as his feelings strengthen, as he fell harder for Addison, he struggled with himself, whether to tell her the truth or not, ultimately he thought he was doing her a favor. She did live on the other side of the world and once her trip was over, he could just go back to his true self, but as they developed a connection, and his feelings only got stronger for this girl. It doesn’t seem so easy anymore, it doesn’t seem so black and white… Will he be able to tell Addy the truth? And if he does, what does that mean for them? Can real love really start on a lie?
OKAY, so WOAH… This book took me on so many twists and turns that I did not see coming and the angst-filled love story, with a touch of suspense, and mystery… Hell, I should know that this is Ms. Harrison style. She loves throwing in plot twists, curve balls that you will not see coming… and true to her form, Ava did just that… and she did it flawlessly, but I expected nothing less from her.
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing… Ms. Harrison Seriously AMAZING. This is definitely a MUST READ.
5 Stars!!
**4 1/2 amazing stars
I really enjoyed this book.
It got my attention right off the bat.
The storyline and plot kept me engaged.
Nothing is a simple as it seems in the start of that first lie.
I thought I had figured everything out but I was very wrong.
Things are more complex and not as predictable as I had first assumed.
I liked Oliver.
He was confident and his presence were really alluring.
He’s sexy,sweet and romantic.
But that first lie he told set every other deceit in motion.
Addison omg I loved her.
I thought she was so strong.
Even in her weakest moments.
She grew so much throughout the book.
So many times life and people knocked her down.
But she always got up,dusted herself off and kept on.
I found her to be fierce and determined.
Even when the punches she got rattled her.
Ms. Harrison delivers a great story of lies and love.
With incredible characters that go through hell to find their heaven.
Oliver Blackthorn the Earl of Lockhart is a liar. He’s a liar and extremely good looking and wealthy. He’s fun and loves to live life to the fullest. He meets beautiful, reserved serious Addison Price who is also CEO of her family’s company. Ava writes a book of opposites attract. Her story is of both Olly and Addison finding themselves. It’s not easy to be who you really are when hurt and anger are in the way. Its a journey of angst, love, and lies. Addison Price took me by surprise. I really loved her. Usually, I’m all over the main male character but, I really loved who and what Addison went thru to really know her self-worth. I did love Olly too! Who wouldn’t love an extremely handsome Earl with an Estate? This is the first book of the Price siblings. I look forward to the next two books. Five stars from me for “Deceit”
Running away because your ex-fiance is getting married never works out for the best, but in Addison’s case it leads to finding romance on the other side of the world. But can a romance that is based on lies be real? Can Oliver hide behind his fake persona and not tell Addy he is in line for the throne? Once again Ava Harrison creates a world that the reader cannot help but fall in love with and literally cannot put down. With each chapter the fantastic storytelling gets better and better and really sucks the reader in. By the end you cannot help but want a HEA. Another great read!!
