Safely hidden within the estate’s enchanted walls, Benella no longer has time to fear her tormentors. She’s too preoccupied attempting to determine what makes the beast so beastly. It might be the taxing visits from the aged enchantress who cursed him or his growing vexation at not being allowed to touch Benella. In order to gain her freedom, she must find a way to break the curse, but first, she … she must help him become a better man while protecting her heart. Intended for adult readers only due to sexual situations, violence (attempted rape), and moderate language.

Beastly tale remake! Amazing series! Cant pit it down! Left me speechless and my heart shattered! Leaves on a cliffhanger can’t wait for the finale book!
So you might notice that the review for book 2 comes very close after book 1. I can basically sum up the review with this one statement. Book threes review will shortly follow. That’s right book 2 continued the amazingly blunt, open, full of amazing and terrifying things story. The cliffhanger ending in book 1 is nothing compared to this one! I also want to applaud Benella for thinking up the way to break the curse and instead of keeping it to herself and keeping the beast (as she is in love with him by this point) she tells him the truth and accepts that he might change back and discard her or he might still love and want her. It was brave and selfless and I wonder if in book 3 she will regret it. Oh, and on a side note, I agree with the beast on how she should deal with her sisters.
I continue to enjoy this series
Book 2 of a series I haven’t been able to place down, while it seems like a slow burn situation it has added to the connection between our couple creating a friendship to the love developing between the 2.
I just love this serial with my whole heart! Its very much an adult fairy tale, but its such a punch in the gut ending to this one!!! Its so good!
This is the 2nd book of Melissa Haag’s Beauty and the Beast spin. At the end of the first book, the Beast has demanded he be able to keep Benella on his estate in order to save her ungrateful sisters and her doting father from a terrible fate. This is, finally, his alone time with her, the time when he gets to know her, to charm her, maybe cultivate some kind of relationship with her. He, also, needs her help to break the curse that turned him into the beast in the first place. There is plenty of underlying romance, as the two become more than close. But, without giving the ending away, Melissa Haag leaves us with a most…uncomfortable and enraging cliff hanger! Of course, I loved it, as I love everything she writes. It was refreshing to see her take some steps out of her young adult work and show us that she can write strictly for adults too. This work is sensual and passionate without being over the top. Over the last couple of months, I have become attached to these characters and am excited and apprehensive, all in the same breath, to see what happens to everyone. In other words, I am truly looking forward to the final book in the series.
I love the slow build up of the romance between the Beast and Benella. I still don’t care highly of Benella’s sisters. Wy is going to laugh at my little self control since I went ahead and bought the third book.
MJ Haag has written an awesome adult version -Beauty & the Beast inspired story (that’s one of my favorite Disney movies when my daughter was a child). I really enjoyed this 3 book series. Would highly reccomend this series. I’ve re-read them 3 times. Some of my favorite books, & I don’t normally re-read books! Looking forward to more books from MJ Haag! I couldn’t put the books down, had to know what happen d next…
Excellent adult retelling of a classic!! Well written storyline and characters!!
