This is a great series! This is the fourth book in this series, and I have read them all straight through. They are those special, couldn’t put them down until I read the whole thing, anxiously waited to get to the next one as soon as it was available kind of book. The best thing about this set of characters, Deb and Rath, is that they need each other. I mean it seems like he’s saving her, and he is, he totally is, but at the same time, she’s saving him too. The things that Deb went through before she ended up with Rath, dude, that’s a harsh back story, traumatic and soul-killing at the least. There is a lot of exciting plot action going on, threads that will lead to future stories I hope, and also many new characters introduced. I wasn’t sure what to make of the Emperor, can’t figure out what’s going on with him, like is he a good guy or a pompous servant of classism, but again, the hints lead me to believe that he’s also got a surprise coming for us too. I didn’t get what happened with Precious either, it felt like a dangling thread, I thought there was a bond going on with Deb, but then there was no mention of her until the last few pages. All in all, I would totally recommend this book, this series, and this author because I am completely addicted to all three!
