Anne Malcom already know I’m bloody fixated with her. Seriously, there are absolutely no words. She has utterly changed the game when it comes to Paranormal Romance. I was completely enthralled from the first word. I devoured every word like my next breath. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not really a PNR fan but The Vein Chronicles have been undeniably life-changing in that retrospect. It’s like I can’t get enough. A book that encompasses everything I love about romance, everything I love about that dark side to reality & the combination is explosive! I finished this book in one breath, the execution was spectacular and the character development was magnificent.
An edge of your seat read that will definitely leave you a little ‘deathless’. It’s different from anything I’ve ever read and I doubt anyone has read anything like this either. It’s unique and deserves a category of its own. When you get a sassy vampire who refuses to be seen as weak and an equally stubborn alpha male, vampire slayer, the chemistry is out of this world hot. Get too close and you’ll get burnt. It’ll burn you up from the inside out, prolonging the burn til you can’t think of anything else.
Praise to Anne Malcom for writing yet another successful book that will absolutely destroy the book community. No one will see it coming. I won’t discuss the content of the book because of spoilers but this is hands down a MUST READ. You will learn to embrace your dark side with this book, it’s so funny, thrilling & captivating. It’ll change your views on vampire romances. Move along Twilight, Anne Malcom has created a series that will smash all and any competition out of the way.
Wow, wow, wow!! I know I am behind with this series and I can only apologize. I have no excuse as I have had the series, so far, on my kindle! I think after reading book one, I just did not want this to end so I just held on to them!
Isla is a freaking rock star! I want to be her when I grow up, well not undead but you get what I mean. She is sassy, sarcastic, badass in Jimmy Choos! Kicking the arses of the undead whilst looking fabulous darling!
The chemistry between her and Thorne is strong enough to make any heart beat fast, indeed or not!
This had me glued to my kindle during Storm Ciara! I could not put it down!
This is a great binge series. The lead h is an egotistical snot that you want to high-five one second and strangle the next—you can’t help but love her. I adore the classic vampire tale and Anne creates a unique twist on it while still giving you the tidbits you love about the trope. Well written.
Deathless is book two in Anne Malcom’s The Vein Chronicles Series.
This book continues on from where ‘Fatal Harmony’ book 1 leaves us. I wouldn’t recommend reading this book if you haven’t had the chance to read book one as there is a lot of the story and characters that won’t make a lot of sense.
My life was never black and white.
Heck, it wasn’t even black, white and gray.
Lines were not drawn between good and evil, and if they were, I would have jumped those suckers for fun.
But now it was simpler. It wasn’t black and white. Or gray. It was only one thing.
Blood.
A crimson-tinted world. That was all I needed.
All I wanted.
Him.
Despite the war raging around us, or the secrets between us, there was nothing simpler than blood.
It didn’t matter that it would be fatal.
After all, it’s the things we’re not undead without that will kill us in the end.
Isla and Thorne, Thorne and Isla…
I love Thorne just putting it out there the unconditional love and affection he has for Isla. WOW! I do have to say I did love Isla in ‘Fatal Harmony’ and the beginning of ‘Deathless’ but then got annoyed with her after the secret between Thorne and Rick is revealed. I understand she was hurt, but I felt that she just over reacted. There was never anytime between the killing and dying for the secret to come out, plus it’s kind of a big deal, it can’t just be brought up in a casual conversation. But after the reconciliation the sassy and kicka** Vampire Isla I love was back. YAY! Plus she gets a little revenge back on her family, it was well overdue.
I do have to mention Sophie, what an Awesome Chick. I love her loyalty… She will literally do anything for the ones she loves. I can’t wait to see how she grows into her powers. But I am also a little concerned for her after the incident at the beginning of ‘Deathless’ where she looses control. But I did have a chuckle where she freezes Rick and then forgets she has done it . Duncan is so freaking Hilarious, he’s too cool and carefree attitude is just what this Scooby Doo gang needs.
Deathless picks up right where Fatal Harmony left off. Thorne and Isla just can’t catch a break.
Isla keeps taunting death and it has finally caught up to her. Not only did the witches curse her, she finds out about the prophecy. Now the weight of the world is literally on her shoulders. Not to mention her survival is now completely dependent on one man.
Secrets and lies can destroy everything. And when Isla finds out the truth of the one closest to her, her trust is shattered. She doesn’t love or trust easily, so when its broken it just destroys her.
This story has so many twists that I cannot read fast enough. The author constantly keeps me on my toes because I just never know what Isla is going to do next. She is one of my favorite heroines of all time. Isla is fearless and strong, independent and loyal, a little bit crazy but a whole lot of fun!
I am moving onto the next in the series because I just cannot wait to see what happens.
This book seriously sent me for a tailspin!
I have said it before, I’ll say it again… Anne Malcom killed it with this book!
Wowza!! I think out of all the female characters I’ve read about, PNR and non-PNR books, Isla will forever be my favorite.
This chick is all sorts of badass wrapped with a sassy and hilarious attitude.
We continue with Isla and her Scooby-Doo gang, which she had way hates, but let’s be honest, she loves every single one there… ESPECIALLY SCOTT, lol.
There’s a lot of war talk going on in this book. Who’s behind it, where the rebels are residing, who’s evil good and evil bad, who can you trust and are your allies really your allies or just pretending??
I had quite a few “oh crap!” moments in this book. Ms. Malcom sure does know how to give you twists and turns straight out of left field that you would NEVER expect to read.
I’m talking about mouth gaping, shocked gasps, wtf moments. I’m always sucked into her books and I’ll even admit that this one had me tear up for a moment.
Always expected with one of Anne Malcom’s stories.
I’m so glad that I read the book when I did because although the book had a good ending, I wanted more! And, I’m glad I don’t have to wait long since hearing the announcing of the third installment of this book is releasing next month!
I can’t wait to dive back into the awesome mind that is Isla and her broody super alpha Thorne.
Everyone knows I am a massive Anne Malcom fan. Her stories speak to me like no other books. Deathless has yet again cemented her as my favourite author. Isla is back and she’s not screwing around.
This book has something for everyone.
Ass kicking action of the paranormal variety
Swoon worthy moments
Seriously hot chemistry
Witty banter and dialogue
Supporting characters you love
Storyline that leaves you wanting more
Banter and dialogue so funny you will definitely laugh and might snort
And most importantly it has a heroine that you want to be best friends with. Isla is the very best kind of kick ass character you want to go out for a few cocktails with and then join her posse and kill a few bad guys.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone looking for an action packed, funny, emotional, hot and female empowering read.
Thorne and Isla are my perfect couple. Swoon Central
Wasn’t that what love did? Broke you into as many pieces as humanly, and inhumanely, possible so you couldn’t put yourself back together? Not without the other person, at least.
I’m not going to say anything else because I don’t want to spoil the book for readers but I do have to share my favourite quote from Isla. I just love her. I love her hard.
I never make promises because I don’t like present Isla making future Isla’s decisions for her. I find it rude.
Thank you Anne for another book that gave me everything I needed.
