I had watched and enjoyed the “Longmire” series on TV, but it pales in comparison to the way this character is actually written! Witty, sarcastic, realistic and complex characterization with a streak of morality. Very well done
All of the Longmire books are very entertaining.
Just once I would like to read a Longmire book that does not occur in the winter, during a blizzard. But a good book, an easy ride, with realistic characters, and a plot that isn’t full of twists and turns, but works steadily to a conclusion.
Great characters, good research on the culture of the Basque population of the area. I liked it!
The Longmire series are a pleasure to read. I have gone back to the beginning of the series and rereading them when I get in a reading slump.
CJ Box’s series featuring Joe Pickett are another pleasurable read.
I love Craig Johnson’s Longmire series. The books are great and can be enjoyed as stand alones but to follow the series best, read them in order.
Really enjoyed this book.
Not the author’s finest work. Boring and sometimes hard to follow. I do enjoy the book series and the netflicks series allegedly based on the books but this one left me cold.
Craig Johnson is an excellent writer. His Longmire series is one of my favorites. Unfortunately they are all priced out of my range so when I see one on a deal I grab it. Slowly but surely…
He always makes you think about things below the surface.
It’s brilliant. Read it.
Kind of libertarian
We enjoyed all of the Longmire stories. and Johnson’s writing style.
Enjoyed the series, loved the books. Humor shines thru in the books. A delight
Not my kind of story

A little heavy on the Indian lore, but pretty entertaining mystery overall
I love all of his books
