If you liked the “Longmire” TV series, you’ll love the books. In fact, the books are even better than the show, for which it appears that a whole cast of characters and plots were invented when the ones in the books are just great. Also a great way to learn about life in Wyoming, which sounds great, but has way too much snow! I strongly recommend the whole series!
Print is on the small side if you have a tablet, kindle, etc. which can slow the reader down
love the series, start with the first to establish the characters.
I’m a big Craig Johnson – and Walt Longmire – fan. This was one of my early Longmire reads and now I’m hooked, am almost through them all. Highly recommend this series which, by the way, is much better than the TV series which does not capture Longmire’s intelligence and humor. In any event, they are great mysteries and characters that you care about. Highly recommend.
love Longmier
Another masterpiece in the Walt Longmire book series … it’s easy to see why Netflix choose to make it into a series — compelling, leaves you wanting more!
All of Craig Johnson’s Walt Longmire books are fun to read.
I enjoy all the Longmire books as I live in Wyoming and know the area he uses for his fictional setting.
A must for fans of the Longmire TV series. Good read, entertaining, a real page turner.
Love Craig Johnson
After watching the Longmire series on television I was happy to stumble across the book series. And, as usual, the book is better than the movie (or tv series). I love this author’s writing style and his somewhat irreverent sense of humor. I am excited that there are several books in the series because I know I have entertainment ahead of me!
I found it difficult to read the first few chapters as the author was introducing all the characters. I did enjoy the setting and found it to be very realistic. However, not an easy book to read.
Usual great story.
In my opinion, when you pick up one of Craig Johnson’s Longmire books, you are in for great entertainment. They are roughly 4-hour reads, so you can get through them in a single reading session. Fantastic characters, bits of history wound through the narrative, GORGEOUS prose, and very relatable characters. Well worth your time!
I love these books! So different and a very lovable main character. I was very happy to see these books developed into a TV series-and with the right actor to portray the sheriff!
Love the Longmire character. Have read the series and waiting for the next addition.
It was a little slow and hard to follow.
Wonderful storyline and believable characters with twists and turns to make solving the crime a little more difficult. I’m hooked on the series.
Great introduction to his works. Cannot put down and looking forward to his latest. Love the continual reference to history and literature.
Watched the Longmire series Netflix prior to reading any of the books but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the characters
