I couldn’t put this book down, great story & too real.
Good book to take to beach or spend a rainy weekend.
One of the best page turners I ha ever read in a long time. You will not figure it out until the very end.Enjoy
Very well written story that keeps one entertained and turning pages but the plot and action were predictable.
Excellent book! Great mix of trial prep, courtroom action and police/villain plotting and action. Good leading character and supporting cast, who also get some character development.
In todays political climate I could see something like this.
Realistic: politicians only interested in themselves
I found the book hard to put down
I think it is sad that our country has come to this, for I have nothing but contempt for our elected Congressional “leaders” and I am sure more of this action goes on than we know about.
It is not for politics correctness people. Disregard politics, the author did his home work, how to question the witness, how to rebut the opponent, how to construct winning strategy.
This is another well written story and easy to relate to current events. Another one hard to predict how it would end and kept me turning the pages late into the night. I recommend it and would like to read more by this author.
Celeste Robertson
very topical
If you like political fiction and intrigue this is the book for you! The characters are exciting-some on the evil side and some fighting for justice. I cannot wait to read the next in the series.
Well written! Transition from one character to another was clear and easy to follow. I am not usually interested in political novels but this was an exception. Great book!
Literary excellence at it’s best this author really knows how to get your interest right from the start to the last page. This is a must read novel that will have you wanting more.
As a retired federal agent, I appreciated the realistic detail that was so aptly and entertainingly presented. Highly recommend.
This was a very interesting murder mystery about how the “sausage” is made in DC. To a muggle like me, the wheeling and dealing going on backstage was really eye-opening. The more important your committee chairman is, the more monetary perks drip off him onto you, a staff member. And so staff members connive to move on to the staff of a more important chairman.
And of course, with congressional numbers almost equal, the Senators try to throw dirt on their opponents before the Fall elections.
The book being rather long, the mystery, which could have been resolved much earlier, is strung out with a sadistic killer on the loose. This doesn’t diminish the story, but seems rather a last minute flourish.
I enjoyed this book because the story combined detectives working with the prosecutor and other agencies to effectively build a case. The intricate working of law enforcement, judicial and the unknown (jurors) brought different perspectives. Action-packed
I coun’t put it down. I bought another of his books . I plan on reading the rest of his books.
I enjoyed this book immensely, though it’s scary to think about how true this could become in our political climate. The author stated in his intro that it could have been written about any party; he just picked one. Anyway, a fast-paced page turner. This is the third book I’ve read in the Jeff Trask series, and I’ve enjoyed them all.
