If you are having a rough time in your real life and need s pick-me-up, this is the book for you. It is all about second chences. I absolutely love small town romances. Coming from a small town myself, I get to see how much of it I have actually experienced. This one is all about working through misunderstandings and getting a fresh start. I loved it!
This was a fun little cozy mystery. It read quickly and I enjoyed the characters. There was a lot going on a f I felt like Most of the book was Lily’s cousin trying to keep her out of the investigation and Lily making several not so smart choices. I’l like to read more in the series and see if that eases up some. Lily obviously has some stuff she is dealing with and I am wondering how life in Mercy will develop for her. I will surely read more by the author!

Review:
Death of a Wolfman is the first book in a new series and it had everything I look for in a cozy: great characters, great small town setting, humor and a well plotted mystery.
The characters are well rounded and well developed. Lily Gayle is a smart sassy nosy woman who can take care of herself. And I really enjoyed getting to know her better. The relationship between her and her cousin was a love/hate relationship, but in the end, love won out. I enjoyed the bantering and bickering between them and at times I was laughing out loud while I was reading. Dixie and Miss Edna added a lot to the story and were great characters to spend time with.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there, watching all the action taking place around me. The small town southern community was created perfectly and seemed very lifelike to me.
The mystery was well written and was carried on well throughout the entire book. The concept of a wolfman was unique and helped make this book stand out from others, in my opinion. There were enough suspects and twists and turns that it made figuring out the mystery a difficult task. I did pick up on a few clues but I did not fully figure out who the killer was until it was revealed at the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I really enjoyed this book a lot and I am excited that this is the beginning of a new series and I cannot wait to read more books by this author.
Death of a Wolfman by Susan Boles is the first book in the series. I don’t read alot of cozy mysteries but I did enjoy this one alot. I loved the town folks and the interaction among the characters in the book. I found the storyline to be an original one. I would certainly recommend this book to those that enjoy cozy mysteries.
It turns out that watching CSI pays off for Lily Gayle.
not so much at first when a dead body is discovered, and her living history project puts her down range from a killer
in the end, a community of women bring Lily Gayle lots of friendship, fun and chaos, and maybe a new chance at romance as she works on moving on after the death of her husband.
friend and family change in unexpected over time, especially in a small town, where we often take on new roles as we age and grow together – or apart.
sometimes. long buried grudges can be murder!
fun, humorous, and full of suspense!

Death of a Wolfman by Susan Boles is the first in this cozy series and it perfectly established the cozy southern town and the characters.
Lily Gayle is sassy, spunky, nosy and independent. She has moved back to her hometown after her husband died. She has an etsy shop for costumes and she does genealogy research for clients. The town snoop, Miss Edna, her best friend, Dixie, and her cousin, Ben, were wonderful secondary characters.
I loved the wolfman syndrome brought up in the book. I, too, have only heard about from watching CSI! The plot is quickly paced and I had an inkling early on who the “wolfman” was early in the book but the reveal answered all the questions that I hadn’t been able to figure out on my own. Plenty of twists, humor, friendships and love filled this cozy mystery. I look forward to reading the next one in this series.
What a great read for Halloween!!! Lily Gayle is the cousin of the sheriff and she somehow gets herself involved in “helping” him solve murders and mysteries. She is a busybody – or she is called that and I think it fits.
This book has mystery and humor. Lily has the stubbornness of a spoiled child, yet she is mature and has resources and common sense to figure out this mystery. However, she also has a knack of getting into trouble.
This is a great read especially now at Halloween! The plot and characters are well developed. I highly recommend this cozy mystery.
“Death of a Wolfman” earns 4.5/5 Halloween Costumes!
WOW! Great story! Susan Boles created a delightful southern town with sweet tea, beauty shop hang outs, and everybody knowing everybody’s business. The colorful characters are deeply attached to each other having clever, humorous, and often contentious banter. The mystery is unique with vivid descriptions that kept me turning the pages… It is book 1, and I hope Susan is hard at work penning the next Lily Gayle adventure.
