After finding a corpse hidden in a snowman, Stormy is determined to find the culprit — with the help of a mischievous feline named Jeffrey. With nonstop twists and turns, this clever tale is a must-read!First in series! When the daughter of a cop finds a body next door, she’s the only one who can solve the strange mystery. Stormy Day has moved back home, and it’s not for the local coffee or … and it’s not for the local coffee or nightlife, both of which are lacking in Misty Falls, Oregon. She’s there to help her father finally retire from being a cop, and slow the heck down after his hip replacement. Plus she needs to give her brain a break from the high-stakes world of venture capital.
But when she makes a shocking discovery next door, Stormy’s clever brain kicks into overdrive. This murder is too difficult for the local boys in blue to figure out. The new captain of the police department tells her to mind her own business, but he doesn’t take his own advice. He’s always breathing down her neck like a jealous ex-boyfriend (which he is).
What’s there to be jealous of? Stormy’s not even dating anyone. She’s certainly not going to date the ruggedly handsome, bearded lawyer who’s renting half her house. No way. Every time she sees Mr. Logan Sanderson, the town’s newest resident, he’s insulting her one way or another. The man should show his landlady a little more respect! He’s the worst. Sort of. It would be easier to hate him if he weren’t so cute underneath that bushy beard.
Now there’s a murder to solve, and since the legendary Finnegan Day is recovering from surgery, it’s up to his determined daughter Stormy to save the town from a twisted killer. If she fails to solve this twisted puzzle in time, someone close to her will pay a terrible cost.

An easy read A different twist
Very funny whodoneit. Quick and easy read.
I’m loving the series right now, I am into book 4 and it just keeps me there for the whole thing and to keep moving on to the next one.
Death of a Dapper Snowman is one of the better books I have read in a long time. It was great escapist fantasy. A fun murder mystery with laughter, tears and great characters. If you like the cozy variety of mysteries, you’ll love this book. Dive in and enjoy this great book.
The story was entertaining yet not weighty. It is a good take me away read.
cute little mystery
Enjoyable quirky read for the winter weather. Stormy and her cat are fun to follow. Laughable murder mystery. Worth the time.
This was a great Book to start a new series. I’m ready to keep reading more of these mysteries.
I bounced back and forth on giving this three or four stars. It’s probably a shaky 3.5?
I don’t know. I enjoyed the book. The MC? Not so much. She’s really judgemental. There’s a lot of jumping to conclusions throughout.
I enjoyed the book. I wouldn’t read the sequels. I finished the last page with a feeling of….I didn’t like something but …
Such fun with this first in a series. Quirky characters, interesting plot and a MC who is funny, smart and confident.
Loved this book
What’s not to like with this book? Quirky small town where everyone seems like they could have been the “one.” I loved this one.
This is a fun start to a cozy series. Stormy Day (yes really) is a relatable woman who finds a body inside a snowman and tracks down the killer in her small town. She has witty dialogue and fun characters as friends. An easy read. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Wow, what a story containing twists and turns you don’t expect. Stormy is fun and entertaining character. Of course the rest of the characters are great also. Loved it!
I thought it was pretty stupid that the owners of the cat (who had bought a collar tag with the name “Cat”) thought he was a female and sent the protagonist off to the veterinarian to
have the cat spayed, only for her to find out he’s male and should be castrated. So she did that
and gave him the name Jeffrey Blue. The cat jumped into a snowman …
An original place to hide a body.
I greatly enjoyed the characters as well as the setting of this book. The mystery was entertaining and, for once, there was regret expressed at the loss of the person rather than it just being a plot device. The murder victim was developed as a character, which I thought gave this otherwise light and entertaining read a nice bit of depth.
Did we ever find out where the snowman’s top hat came from?
Interesting book. I would recommend to someone that enjoys a mystery.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It had a lot of turns making it a real page turner.
