I love this series! I was afraid this book wouldn’t be as good as Death of a Dapper Snowman but I was happily worried for nothing, this book is great.
The on going adventures of Stormy Day, store owner, landlady, an occasional detective. The second book in this series is just as entertaining as the first. A good beach, fireside or uplifting quarantine read. Happy reading!Looking forward to the next book.
Fun read.
All of Ms Pepper’s books are well written to keep your attention from the first page to the end. I highly recommend this book.
Better than doing inventory – except for the dead body!
Since moving back home to Misty Falls, Stormy Day enjoys being the owner of the gift shop but faced with a year-end inventory she longs for a little more excitement in her life other than the crazed cat antics of Jeffrey McFluffy Trousers. Unfortunately, getting run off the road and then finding the body of a local fortune teller wasn’t exactly what she had in mind. It wasn’t her first body, and she might have left the case alone if Captain Tony Milano hadn’t rudely told her to mind her own business.
This is the first book I have read in this cozy series and I enjoyed it. There is humor, plot twists, and some hints of future romance. The interaction between Stormy and her father adds dimension to the storyline. Overall, I liked it.
Great Book Number two in the Stormy Day Mystery Series. Some interesting twists and turns!
A fun, cozy murder. Interesting and entertaining story. Loved Stormy Day and plan to follow the series.
A very fun to read book with interesting characters.
Love this author
I loved it! Laughed my way through it. Good who-done-it. Not scary, not heart stopping but I now want to read all of the series and anything else she has written.
Another fun read with the second in the cozy mystery series. Well written with great characters and an adorable cat!
I love Angela Pepper, every book I read that she has written makes me smile. She is smart, witty, and a trifle off-center (aka unpredictable). Her cozies are true cozies – decent language with a bit of romance, but PG-rated. I read one review of this book that complained she knew nothing about knitting, yep, and Stormy admitted it. Don’t complain about what is true, besides, the knitting aspect is a very small part of the book, just a reason to get together with some ladies she needs to learn more about, which leads me to the storyline… We start out with a very mysterious meeting between a con-lady “psychic” and someone… we don’t find out who that someone is until the end. Stormy meets the over-the-top psychic at a party, where a kind gesture earns her a free psychic reading. Against her better judgment, but filled with curiosity – and skepticism, she decides to keep the appointment for the reading. Instead, she is run off the road, her car is stuck in the snow and after hiking the rest of the way to her destination, the psychic is dead – shot! She calls the cops and while waiting for them calls her dad, a retired cop, for moral support. Instead of kind words and comfort he gets excited and has her start looking for clues, he’s thinking of becoming a PI. Stormy (and you) are then swept up in the investigation… Oh, one other thing I read a lot of in reviews, they complain about the “romance” between Stormy and her old, married, cop friend. I didn’t see it as a romance, I saw it like an overprotective, big brother relationship. So, I would say it’s up to how you look at life, I have several overprotective, big brothers in my life, maybe that’s why I see it that way. Keep your mind out of the gutter and this book stays out of the gutter, too. Any misbehaving is all in how you decide to read it.
a fun read
Loved it
Cute and clever but not very original or memorable. Although I enjoyed the easy read, I won’t be rushing out to buy the additional books in the series.
I enjoyed the book enough that I bought another in the series.
fun to read.
A good read
enjoyed
Quick read with no stress involved. I enjoyed the story.
Twists and turns galore.
