USA TODAY BESTSELLER!First book in the Death by Chocolate series Lindsay loves chocolate. It tastes good, it makes her feel good, it never cheats on her like her almost-ex-husband. It’s her best friend. But someone wants her dead and uses her weak spot—chocolate—to try to murder her. Lindsay’s only secret is the recipe for her chocolate chip cookies, but she is surrounded by neighbors with deadly … by neighbors with deadly secrets. Suddenly she finds herself battling poisoned chocolate, a psycho stalker, and a dead man who seems awfully active for a corpse.
Her best friend and co-worker, Paula, dyes her blond hair brown, hides from everybody and insists on always having an emergency exit from any room. Secrets from Paula’s past have come back to put lives in jeopardy.
Determined to help Paula, Lindsay enlists the reluctant aid of another neighbor, Fred, an OCD computer nerd. In spite of his mundane existence, Fred possesses tidbits of knowledge about such things as hidden microphones, guns, the inside of maximum security prisons and how to take someone down with a well-aimed kick to his chin.
As Lindsay battles the elusive stalker, poisoned chocolate, and the dead man, she will need more than a chocolate fix to survive. But that’s always a good start.

Just started this series and I already bought the next few books. I really love a great mystery and this one had me hooked. Lindsey sets out to help her best friend and neighbor. I love Lindsey’s sarcasm, she says what I’m thinking. I can’t wait to see where this series is going. Once you start, clear some time, you won’t want to stop reading.
Fun Read, likable characters! Will look for other books the author has!
Silly at times.
Sally is changing her life. She is getting a divorce, probably and the shop is doing great. Then strange things start to happen. Her best friend is hiding big secrets and figuring them out will be an adventure. Then someone goes missing and the real work starts. This is a really good book with laugh out loud parts and lots of drama. I am excited …
I am working on reading more of the series.
The backstory on one of the main characters is not very pretty, it is however realistic. She had an abusive husband and he is a policeman. Ugly! I do like her new found friend. The friend is dealing with her own spouse and his issues- not as serious but annoying. I love the sarcastic comments that fly in this book. They kind of remind me …
Just isn’t my type of book – a little dark so I didn’t get past the first chapter.
It was a fun book, very light reading.
Light hearted, moves along at a reasonable pace.
Super cute and happy ending
Witty mystery. Quick read.
There were some laugh out loud moments. Love the interaction between the characters.
Good
Enjoyed this book.
I enjoyed it, and finished quick.
I would read others by this author
Not a favorite.
I consider it a cozy mystery. But what a fun read!! The characters are so we’ll written that I continue to think about them!! I completely and thoroughly enjoyed it!!
A nice book that flows.
Good read. I liked the characters and the plot was interesting with enough twists and turns to keep up interest. I would read another in the series.
