When a new Westwood employee with old grudges is murdered during the brand summit, Di starts investigating with roommate Mary and Great Dane Moo at her side. After a snowstorm strands all the suspects at the Westmound Center and the only cop present asks Di and Mary not to get in the way, they have to keep a low profile.
It’s no surprise that Mac was murdered. He was a sexist bigot who used his … a sexist bigot who used his business to take advantage of others prior to being bought out by Westmound. With so many suspects, will they be able to find the real killer?
A wholesome cozy murder for every sleuth in the family
This is the second book in a brand-new series set at the fictional Westmound Center for Competitive Shooting Sports in rural Wyoming.

Nice short cozy about a new Westwood employee with old grudges is murdered during the brand summit, Di starts investigating with roommate Mary and Great Dane Moo at her side. There is a snow snowstorm that strands all the suspects and this gets very interesting about finding out who the murderer is.
Death at the Summit (Target Practice Mysteries #2), my second read from author Nikki Haverstock and the second in the Target Practice Mystery Series. I bought the Kindle edition back in January of 2016 & never got around to reading it until I got the Author’s Direct audio edition back in August of this year. Well-written & enjoyable. a cute, clean cozy mystery. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. Since I already own 10 books by her that won’t be a problem. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Di is settling into her new job at the Westmound Center. They are throwing a big summit when Di finds another dead body. When a snowstorm shuts down the facility and everyone is stranded there, Di, her roommate Mary and Moo begin to investigate the death on their own. Like the last time, things do not go as planned. Nikki does a great job bringing you into the world of competitive archery. The characters continue to develop more than the last story. We get to see a new side of Liam when it comes to the business and Di. The end of the book left me wanting to know what else happens to our unique cast of characters.
Good story and entertaining characters. It was a fun, easy read.
I knew nothing about competitive archery & have learned a lot reading these books? I’m pretty sure two different titles are the same book but I have enjoyed all the ones I’ve read. I had a friend who owned Harlequin Great Dane named Shadrack who. Was as entertaining, fun &’mischevious as Moo so i will gladly read every single book in the series.
Choppy reading, too much trying to be “politically correct”
It just didn’t grab me. The subject seemed forced.
A fairly good “who-dun-it” …. a nice read for a Saturday afternoon!!
Meh.
Good plot and interesting characters.
Good story…look forward to reading another….fast read…
Written so well that I felt I was there. Could picture the people and the place.
I was attracted to the book because of the Great Dane on the cover. Turned out it was about a gun club – definitely not my “thing”. I guess it would be okay for NRA supporters.
Enjoyed the twists and turns.
I honestly just love that it’s set around archers!
An entertaining muder mystery.
Good character development creating personalities which are not only believable, but you really feel as though you’ve known them by the end of the book. The setting is enjoyable and you come away more knowledgeable about the sport and the industry of target shooting (guns, bows and arrows, etc.) than when you began. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
hard to stay interested in characters and plot
This book was ok. The characters didn’t really draw me in but it wasn’t so bad that I stopped reading it. I enjoy a lighthearted mystery – no gore or scary stuff and this fit the bill but something just didn’t click for me.
ok but not great
