Once again, our matchmaker does her magic, this time with one of her own employees.
This is another story in the loosely connection Matchmaker series. Each story is written by a different author and feature different settings and couples, but they share the same common starting point, in this case employing the help of the Matchmaker.
One of the things that I like about these story series is that they are all well written and presented. Here we have two honest but withdrawn people who are reluctant to put themselves out there. With the help of our matchmaker, they give it a try and the connection between them is is something to behold. Along the way we get a bit of steam, a bit of romance and a nice relaxing read with a solid HEA. Perfect for a nice evening read.
Highly recommended.

This was a sweet read. A short quick read that will tide you over till the next big read.
The shy guy and his Christmas Elf
Natalia,Nat, loves her job in the family business, that will someday be hers, supplying Santa’s to various venues in her home stated. Adding in School, it doesn’t leave her much time for a social life. Now her friends are getting engaged, some starting families. She wants that.
She turns to a match maker. She has 3 older brother and a traditional Russian dad, so the local men give her a wide birth. Her friends fix ups have been a bust.
Christopher works as a web designer and manager, has his own business. A stutter that comes out when he is upset or nervous has had left him with a non existent social life. Grace, the matchmaker he works for is going to change.that.
Grace is old fashioned and uses letter writing between matches as introduction. Nat and Christopher hit it off. They agree to meet on Valentine’s day, but things don’t go as planned and they are both hurt. Christopher refuses to give up.
A sweet and steamy short story romance, with a great epilogue
Nat signs up with a matchmaking service & is surprised to find instructions to write letters when she is matched with someone. Hesitant, she gives it a shot & hopes for the best. Christopher is a shy guy who is insecure with a speech impediment he has. When his client matches him up with Nat, he goes along with it, finally feeling comfortable with the anonymity of writing letters & not having to verbally stumble over words. When he unexpectedly hurts Nat, will he be able to step out of his comfort zone & fix things with her?
I thought this was a great story with good side characters. Both Nat & Christopher are nice, hardworking people who needed to find each other to complete themselves. I need to read the rest of Nat’s friends stories to see how they found their happy ever afters.
Dear Shy Guy by Laney Powell is a great read. sweet, steamy and emotional story that will touch your heartstring, well written, lovely characters with plenty of steam, well done!

Nat is Christopher’s total opposite but they are so perfect together. I loved the way Grace Graham uses the letters to bring her clients together by getting to know each other before they can meet in person. This is a sweet romance with a great ending and a great addition to The Matchmaker Series. I am loving all the novellas in this series and the covers are drool worthy.
I liked this story a lot. I liked the different approach because he was a bit shy and pushed into the dating game. She was a succesful woman but missed romance and a man in her life. I liked the characters a lot because they were both described so they felt real. Great chemistry, storyline and plot. It is a bit fast paced at times and that was a bit confusing because the timeline did not add up.
He is a webdesigner/computer programmer and she is the CEO of her familys Santa company. They live far apart from each other but does that matter when it comes to love? Some mistakes happens but can they forgive each other and take their HEA?
A story that I read in one setting. It is on the shorter side but absolutely captivating and entertaining to read.
This so far is my favorite story in the “Matchmaker” series! It’s a great story and well written, especially for the length. All of these stories are so different but focus on meeting through Grace the matchmaker. Grace has a different take on matchmaking that is a little old school. It’s a refreshing approach to meeting your perfect match. I loved Nat and Christopher!! Great characters with great chemistry. The each have insecurities which cause their first meet up not to go so well. Overall a wonderful story that develops nicely. I liked the over protective brothers. I also love Christopher’s response to their warning. This is a fun story with a little angst and some steam.
I really enjoyed this story. Really good plot to the story. Very well written. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of stories. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

Heart melting love story
I’m so glad Nat got her story. I love when characters from previous stories get their day.
Nat has a lot going for her. She’s successful in the family business & is working toward her life goals but there’s something missing, someone special. So she seeks the help of Grace Graham’s matchmaking services. Her match is found in Christopher. Christopher is handsome & successful in his own right but wary because he’s been hurt before. That hurt has made him close himself off but with a nudge from Grace he sees a sliver of hope. A misunderstanding threatens to ruin everything and it’s up to Christopher to fix it. Heartfelt story of love & of overcoming the barriers we put up for ourselves with honesty & hope in order to find love.
The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world. Grab some coffee or wine if you prefer. Get comfy and prepare to be romanced into Valentine’s just as these authors know how to do. Swooning!! I love, love, love these short stories of romance with just enough steam to keep it more interesting
Nat comes from a very traditional Russian family and she has everything in her life except someone to be with. Christopher is an IT guy and when he does work on the match making software he gets a free membership. Nat signs up to the site because she wants to find someone to be with. Christopher is against being matched up but gives in and really connects through letters with Nat. Nat gets excited waiting for responses from shy guy and can’t wait to meet him. When they do finally plan to meet up Christopher is late and when he does go to see her she has left. Will Nat give him another chance?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Powell goes for an angsty feel with Natalia and Christopher. Christopher is the guy that’s always around, yet no one seems to notice. Nat is the woman of his dreams. For a man used to existing in the background can his dream girl show him how it feels to live in the spotlight? Dear Shy Guy flips the switch. The fantasy of romance becomes a reality of the heart.
Dear Shy Guy by Laney Powell a five-star read that will make you blush. This was such a sweet read, it showed us how honest you can be on paper and how compelling it can be to be yourself no matter how difficult it is to be honest with everyone sometimes even yourself. This is one of my favourites of this stand-alone series.
I’m loving how each of these books is so different, and have taken the theme of Grace the Matchmaker to different levels.
This one was charming, I think because both of the protagonists were so shy, it made such a captivating and graceful love story. The sex scenes stood out more in this book than the others as they were at a much more primal pace compared to the rest of the book. That’s not saying they were bad they just made a stark contrast.
I liked the ups and downs and the back stories in this book; it didn’t feel like a novella but a full-blown book with everything that was packed in.
Overall a good solid four star read.
Oh Christopher was so cute! I love getting the Spar Island Girls stories and was so glad to see Nat’s story. It didn’t hurt that we also got a glimpse of Aleks and Cate. Nat and Christopher needed someone that would see them for them not what anyone else wanted and this didn’t disappoint. They are perfect for each other. They were so sexy hot together too! I am glad Christopher was able to put his “disability” behind him and let Nat in.
