CALEBI’m not a one-woman kind of guy. Relationships are complicated, and I don’t do complicated. I prefer to go where lust takes me.But my brothers think it’s time for me to slow down, to get into the world of dating. They sign me up for a matchmaking service behind my back. I tell myself their plan to make me fall in love won’t work. Then I meet Ellie Summers, my potential match. From the first … potential match.
From the first kiss, the woman unravels my heart in ways I can’t explain. She makes me question who I am and what I really want.
I want her.
For the first time in my life, I’m not afraid of complications.
Ellie is as beautiful as she’s damaged, and right now her son is her only priority. There’s no place in her life for a man. Or is there?
How could I resist a challenge wrapped in a pretty package?
ELLIE
My son and I live in our own little world. Each day is the same as the last. No surprises. No opportunities for us to get hurt again.
Then I receive a letter from a matchmaking company. It’s addressed to me, but I didn’t sign up for love. Love broke me once and I’m still picking up the pieces of my broken life.
But when I get a glimpse of Caleb LaClaire’s face, something inside me shifts. His eyes alone pull me right in. When we finally meet, I find myself learning to feel again.
This can’t be happening. Fairytales are not for girls like me. Or are they?

This was such a sweet and heartwarming read. I really enjoyed it. It is a quick read. Something really nice to tide you over till the next big read.
Ellie is a single mother to a disabled little boy so she spends all her time an energy with him. Her grandmother wants more for her so she signs her up for a matchmaking service. Caleb’s brother sign him up from the matchmaking service also. So when they both give in and write letters to one another it seems like they connect. However Ellie is worried that once he learns of her son that he’ll leave her like her husband did. Will Caleb show her that he is different?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Caleb is a playboy who only likes having fun but nothing serious. His brothers sign him up with Grace Grahams matchmaker service where he meets Ellie. Ellie is a single mom who doesn’t have time nor does she want to fall in love but Ellie’s grandmother signed her up with the same matchmaking service. This is a beautiful love story with a great HEA and a great addition to The Matchmaker Series. I am loving all the novella in The Matchmaker Series.
A very well written short instant romance. I liked it very much. In spite of it is so short it has a lot in it. The storyline was great and also the plot. The characters are likeable and well defined. They both develop nicely through the story. Their chemistry is nice. I would have liked more steam between them and sparks flying. The story flows nicely. The subcharacters are also well described and I liked them a lot. They cared for their brother.
I did miss that they had to know each other by letter before meeting and the descreat way by having a nickname and no photos. But that is a small issue I have others may not think of it.
I like the story with her son and how it is described and being one of her biggest issues. Luckily Ellie finds Caleb who has simular background as she has.
A very entertaining and captivating read that I only can recommend to others. Fits right into the series of matchmaking.
Wow! Compelling, emotionally deep and beautiful! This is a quick well written romance of love and sacrifice. The plot is consistent, relatable, and well-developed. The characters are sweet and very loveable with steamy chemistry between them. This story grabs your attention from the start and keeps it until the end … you will find yourself completely engrossed in the interesting storyline. Love the ending and look forward to reading more from this author. Definitely recommended.

Will Caleb be what Ellie needs?
This is my 3rd book by the author and I love an author who writes in dual point of view! Caleb’s brothers sign him up to be matched, and with nothing to lose he writes a letter to Ellie. Ellie is a single mom struggling through life with her sick son, whose grandmother signed her up to be matched. Will Caleb be understanding of Ellie’s first priority? Will Ellie let Caleb in to her life? You have to read to find out and will enjoy this sweet story.
This book was so sweet. It just melt my heart. It’s part of The Matchmakers series where all books from different authors can be read as a standalone. And “Dear Mr. Maybe” was so heartworming. I loved every part of it. It is a short read and I devoured it in one go. Perfect for Valentine’s day and if you want something quick and romantic that will fill your heart with so much love.
Ellie is a single mom of a disabled son. She gave up love long time ago and she is only focused on her son. One day a letter come in from a Matcmaking agency that she never signed up for. She thinks is some kind of mistake. But someone else has a finger in all this, who and why, you need to read it to find out.
I loved Ellie’s character. She went through so much in her life and was left to look after her son all alone. She is a strong mother one that you will admire. And Caleb OMG can he be more sweet? He was the sweetest. I loved him so much for what he did for them.
I enjoy stories like this. Dear Mr. Maybe reminds me what drew me to romance in the first place. Casey and Ellie create a beautiful mess out of an ugly disaster. Lavelle breaks into the heart with humor, emotion and a love story that borders on hopeless, but finds extraordinary.
Book Review
Title: Dear Mr. Maybe
Author: Dori Lavelle
Genre: Romance
Rating: *****
Review: Dear Mr. Maybe is the fifth book I have read in the Matchmakers series and I have loved every single installment, so I have no doubt that I am going to enjoy this installment too. This installment is going to be following Caleb and Ellie and following the theme in the other novels, Caleb is signed up without his knowledge and only learns of his profile and potential match when he returns from a business trip to find his brothers waiting in his home.
Despite Caleb not being a relationship type of guy he decides to give it a shot with Ellie because she is a very beautiful woman, however, Ellie it turns out has a very complicated life, she has a grandmother with Alzheimer’s who is the person who signed her up for the agency, her husband committed suicide a few years before because he couldn’t cope with the stress of looking after a disabled child. Ellie’s son Justin has type 2 spinal muscular atrophy or SMA and he takes up a lot of her time and she had given up on dating until she received Caleb’s letters. Despite their lives the pair write and get to know each other.
When the pair meet for the first time, we see that they actually have a lot in common and get on really well and despite claiming not to be a relationship kind of guy Caleb feels something with Ellie that he has never felt before and Ellie feels something with Caleb that she hasn’t felt since her husband died. Despite their relationship having a few ups and downs the pair eventually find a rhythm that works for them.
By the end of the novel we can see that Caleb was wrong when he said he wasn’t a relationship type of guy but rather he hadn’t met the right woman yet. He and Ellie have a strong relationship which is only made better by the fact that Justin accepts him, and Caleb is paying for a treatment of Justin’s SMA which is working well. So far, I have loved every entry in this series, and I feel that this will be one of the all-time favourite due to its realistic look on relationship and the fact that Lavelle strays away from the cliché romance plot lines but adding in a single mother with a disabled child and how she fits a relationship into all that when she is so used to being alone. I highly recommend this series.
True Love
Another amazing short story from The Matchmaker Series authors. Ellie is a single mom of a disabled son. She has no time for herself let alone love in her life until Grandma Ruth steps in & signs her up for a matchmaking service. Caleb’s brothers give him the push he needs toward the matchmaking service. Their hope is that he’ll find the one. Together Ellie & Caleb find so much more in this heartfelt story of love. Wonderful read. Definitely one I’ll go back to just to get the warm feelings it gave me, again.
The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world. Grab some coffee or wine if you prefer. Get comfy and prepare to be romanced into Valentine’s just as these authors know how to do. Swooning!! I love, love, love these short stories of romance with just enough steam to keep it more interesting
This is another standalone book in The Match Makers Series.
In Dear Mr Maybe we meet Caleb one of the Laclair brothers who you will have met if you have read Dori’s La Clair series.
I loved everything about this book we get to hear from the other brothers too.
Caleb doesn’t do relationships he thinks they are complicated that is until he meets Ellie.
I loved Ellie I really felt for her great character I love the Insta love between her and Caleb. Loved them together. I not going to go into details you need to read this book it is a quick sweet read.
I have to say I am really enjoying these short Novellas and each one is so good.

True love and happily-ever-afters … one quickie at a time!*
Ellie Summers and Caleb LaClaire are two souls who don’t have time for love, for all the wrong reasons. Ellie is a single mother of Justin, her 10 year old son who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. She has raised him alone since her husband overdosed four years ago. Her grandma Ruth raised Ellie ever since her parents died and she wants her to have a fulfilling life after she’s gone. Grandma Ruth sent in an application to Open Hearts matchmaking service to help find true love for Ellie. Caleb is one of the LaClaire brothers, all billionaires due to the inheritance their parents left them after they died in a private plane crash. Caleb owns a real estate developing company and is wealthy in his own right. He’s not a relationship kind of guy and his brothers are concerned that he’s going to live a life without love or happiness. They, too, sent in an application to Open Hearts matchmaking in hopes of giving him the motivation to find someone to share his life and his love. The first time Ellie and Caleb meet, there’s not just a flicker of fire between them, it’s a flame! Both are aware that this is going somewhere but it’s going to be a difficult journey…or is it! After some sweet texting and phone calls, they know they are destined to be together. Now, it’s a matter of getting there! With a heartwarming assist from Justin, they arrive! I hope I get an invite to their wedding!

Wow what a short but packed story. To meet Ellie, she is like a superhero but sadly she is not foreign. Ellie is a woman that has experienced more loss and life challenges then she be dished out to a single person. Her Grandma, on a good day, decides to sign Ellie up for a matching making place called What the Heart Wants in hopes to find Ellie happiness before Ruth totally loses her mind to Alzheimer’s. Meet Caleb a successful businessman with conniving brothers who believe their brother needs to find love. This was a very quick but packed read on how these two opposite people meet and fall instantly in love and the challenges they face but they don’t let them break them apart.

Oh I loved this story. Ellie as a single mother to a disabled child and Caleb as the one who wasn’t looking for long-term. Perfect for each other with the similarities they found. A mother is always looking out for her children and more often than not putting herself last. This hit home and I love that she opened herself up to start doing something for herself as well. I love that Caleb didn’t give up and made sure she knew he would be there for her and could count on someone else taking care of her. I loved this!

Love this story! Caleb is signed up with Grace by his brothers. Their all happily married and don’t want to see him alone. Ellie has had a rough path. Parents killed when she was young, grandmother now with Alzhiemer’s, son with spinal mobility issues, husband committed suicide. Her grandmother in a moment of clarity, signs Ellie up. Love the ending!!
Dear Mr Maybe by Dori Lavelle a five-star read that there’s no maybe about. This is possibly my favourite in the matchmaking series not only for Ellie and Caleb but also for Just Justin, I loved how this author has shown that just because you have a disability doesn’t mean your life is over. Maybe I fell harder than others about this story as I also have a form of muscular atrophy a different form and not as serios and I am thankful of that every day, so someone shining a highlight on it just made my day. This story has everything loss and drama, passion and love it will show you how love can overcome even the highest of obstacles.
This story is what I would say is a true romance. Or perhaps better like an old fashioned romance. There are struggles, there is delight, there is family friends, drama, and lots of love. Even though the story is rather short it has everything it needs in relation to context. The story line is there and the characters are well written and compliment the leading characters really well. Overall it is quite a good romance.

This wasn’t my favourite of the matchmaker books that I have read. I’d liked in the others that the couples had to get to know each other by letter before they could meet. Looks and details didn’t come into it until they met.
In this book, however, they have sent photos and real names straight from the start. The attraction between Caleb and Ellie doesn’t seem to be based on anything other than looks. They know from one very brief letter that the other sounds interesting, yet nothing of significance is said to elicit these emotions. It is simply because they are matched and find each other attractive that they decide to fall in love.
The background story of Ellie and her son is only really what keeps this book unique and interesting as it gave some grit to the story.
