This book took me awhile to get into and I almost stopped reading several times. However, it got better and more interesting the further I got into it. It’s a trilogy, though, and the first book leaves you hanging. Not my preference unless the next volumes are easily accessible.
The descriptions of period costumes and furnishings are grand. The characters are not especially likeable, yet the time travel notions and the plot twists drew me in. Of course I should have known that Book 1 of a trilogy means no ending, just a cliffhanger. The most troubling aspect of the story is a violation of a time travel rule – you cannot meet yourself in any time plane, because a soul cannot exist in two bodies simultaneously.
It was good, I enjoyed the twist on time travel.
A different twist on time travel. I don’t like books that end with a cliffhanger. Didn’t like it well enough to buy the next one
It wasn’t bad, just BORING. I could barely finish it. Good book for helping you go to sleep. Have no desire to read any more of this series.
I was disappointed that there was no true resolution. Endless twists as ‘good’ and ‘evil’ time travel companies manipulate timelines for their own ends. The happy future never got to happen. It was missing, deferred to another book in the series perhaps.
This book was rather nonsensical and slow. I read the whole thing and it failed to impress me. It was a struggle to finish.
I read book 1 and about half of book two and gave it up. Seemed disjointed somehow, never knew what was going on completely with the jumping around in time…couldn’t recommend
Did not care for this book or characters. Found it a bit confusing.
