From New York Times Bestselling Author, J. Sterling comes a realistic story about long distance romance and love. Jules was a self-professed workaholic who put love on the back burner while she focused on making a name for herself in her career. Cal Donovan was the exact same way. He even had a timeline and everything- women didn’t factor into his equation for at least a few more years. But a … years.
But a chance meeting between the two of them changes everything. Suddenly, love doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. But how do you make things work when you live across the country from one another and you both still want to succeed in your jobs?
What follows is an emotional look into the realities of long-distance romance and finding out who you really are when you thought you already knew.

I listened to the audiobook and as always Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon did an absolutely amazing job with narration. I was not expecting so much angst, the feelings of being ghosted and abandoned, I felt that so deeply for Jules. I wanted Cal to grovel a little more, for Jules to make him suffer a little bit, but I’m petty like that. I really liked that Jules was more about her career than anything else, it seems like that’s looked down on in real life and it shouldn’t be. This is a great story, it is somewhat insta-love, it was funny, sweet, angsty, it had all of the feelings that make a great book. Definitely recommend.
This book is both adorable and frustrating. Well, actually the characters are!
Dear Heart, I Hate You is an instant connection. It’s chemistry, friendship, and lust. It’s perfect until one teeny tiny detail…distance.
The distance, the workaholic nature, and doubt are an invisible poison. But don’t fear there is an antidote…You just have to keep reading.
This is a great story about two people who find each other and know from the moment they meet that the other is the one. But they live on opposite ends of the country, will it end before it starts?
Jules lives in California and Cal lives in Boston, is the few days they spend together all they have together? What happens when Cal comes to visit and the feelings grow more? Then he goes home and begins to think about things and stops all things will Jules.
The pain both of them go through during their time apart can be felt through the Audible version. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke did a great job as narrators too.
I had no clue what perfect lips are until now!!! I also may have been puckering up a bit every time they were mentioned don’t worry it was just the right amount to get your juices flowing!!! Sadly though at one point I wanted to rip Cal’s balls off and stomp on them!!! I’m all good now but my phone was in danger of being busted up!!! I just upgraded too so I had to calm my ass and take a walk, in the end it was all worth it!!!
I may have been the last known person to read this story since it came out a minute ago lol but if you somehow missed it like I did change that!!! This was an excellent story!!!! I swear I had all the feels and some unexpected ones too!!! Okay I’m gonna say it some parts definitely made me horny!!! There!!! I said it!!! We don’t say it enough in reviews and I swear it should be the deciding factor how turned on you get in giving 5 stars!!
This story was cute, sweet, witty, and flirty. I absolutely loved the relationship between Cal and Jules. Cal’s disappearing act completely broke Jules. And let me say this, I went through a divorce and looking back I know I did things I would have never done. My heart broke for her. And I didn’t think Cal could redeem himself. J Sterling definitely has a beautiful way of breaking your heart and then slowly putting it back together. Great story!
