I’VE OFFICIALLY SCREWED THE POOCH. Not literally, because that would be disgusting. But I did break one of the cardinal rules of Bro Code, which is equally appalling. You see, I fell for my best friend’s sister, after he explicitly forbid me to go near her. As if that weren’t bad enough, I went ahead and married her while sh*tfaced in Vegas. I know that I should get an annulment and forget the … annulment and forget the whole thing ever happened, despite the fact that our wedding night was the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced.
The last thing I should do is go back for seconds.
Or thirds.
Or…you get the point.
And what I definitely shouldn’t do, is say f*ck the consequences and give this marriage a real shot.
But here’s the problem with that: I’m pretty sure that Charlotte Harris is the one. And if that’s the case, nothing is going to keep me away from her. Not even her brother.
*Deal Makers is a brother’s best friend/firefighter/ best friend’s sister romance filled with lots of laughs, drunken shenanigans, and hot sexy times. It is the third installment in the Dealing With Love series but each one can be read as a standalone.

This is the third book in this awesome series, and is Drew and Charlee’s turn. Charlee is forbidden as she is Drew’s best friend’s sister, but they cannot deny the chemistry between them and end up having a wild night in Vegas, which ends with them married. No spoilers; this is an absolute must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written flawless story, which is hilarious, emotional, and steamy, all which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. This is an entertaining read from the very beginning, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all RomCom lovers.
First off Laura has done it again! She has written a hilarious most outrageous read that I have read in a longtime. I mean I laughed so hard at the shenanigans of Drew and Charlee. They were funny as hell and I could not get enough of them. I will say that one character I loved in a previous book I was pissed off at in this story. Lord he was such an asshat that I could not believe it was the same character from the previous book. But even with that this story is so funny and it is a must read for all romance comedy readers.
Drew and Charlee are in Vegas at a bachelor and bachelorette party when they go off and have their own fun. They are parting hard and end up in a chapel where they get married. When they wake up and realize what they have done they both want to annul the marriage at first but then they have second thoughts about being together. That is until Brody Charlee’s brother and Drew’s best friend finds out and tells them they can not be together they have to get an annulment. But even with this ultimatum Drew and Charlee have to decide whether or not they want to stay married or get an annulment and move on with their lives.
Deal Makers by Laura Lee is book Three in the Dealing With Love Series. This is the story of Charlotte ‘Charlee ‘ Harris and Andrew ‘Drew’ Summer. I have read the previous books, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Drew is Charlee’s brother good friend and so he has placed her in the off limits section but when they have a night Vegas they end up getting married. Thinking to get it annulled but their feelings and desires for each other start making that impossible.
I am always a sucker for a mistaken marriage where they find it wasn’t a mistake, so of course I loved this story.
I have to say that so far I have started this year’s reading with a bang..I have the previous two reviews coming( yeah catching up)..But I so enjoyed this book with Charlotte and Drew, they were perfect for each other. I loved Drew I mean love and I was happy to see him fight for what he wanted or should I say who he wanted and that was Charlotte my friends, he would even give up his friendship with his bestie for it, but on another note he shouldn’t have to even justify himself…I will tell you no more so that you can grab a copy and Enjoy!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions..
Is there an option for more stars? I freaking LOVED this book!! I was excited to read Drew and Charlee’s story, especially after we got a glimpse of them in Laura’s Christmas short, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to love them as much as I loved Brody and Rainey in Deal Takers.
Well…. happy to report that I laughed just as hard… probably even harder during Deal Makers!
I love how the author totally takes us in the head of the characters. Drew and his conversations with his certain ^anatomy part^ are freaking hilarious. I love how unfiltered Charlee is she can totally dish it out just as well as the guys do.
I will say, I was laughing reading the first page, really the first paragraph. Laura Lee has a way of pulling you into her book immediately. I seriously could not put this one down today. Great detail in the writing! Made me feel like I was right there with the characters!!
I have read the first two books in this series and I have been seriously impressed. It is like each book is getting better in better!
Now that Riley and Devyn and Rainey and Brody are together, that leaves Drew (Devyn’s brother) and Charlee (Brody’s sister) as the 6th wheels. Not only is it awkward when they hang out as everyone else is coupled up, but they have this intense chemistry that they have not been able to work out because Brody is serious about keeping his BFF away from his sister.
This book is absolutely hilarious, I swear Laura Lee’s writing as a male POV is epic! I loved Drew, but I loved Charlee even more. These are just two people that like to have fun but seem to have not just amazing chemistry but also a real connection. Also, they happened to get hitched when they were in Vegas!
Can it work out though?
Loved this book, 4.5 outta 5!
PS: Received this book as an ARC in return for my honest feedback.
Laura Lee perfectly combines sweet swoony romance with laugh out loud hilarity like no one else! I’ve adored every book in this series so far, but Drew and Charlee’s story is definitely my favorite. They have this perfect mix of heat, sweet, fun, and a pinch of drama to really make things interesting. To say I devoured this book is an understatement. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything so fast in my life! I just couldn’t get enough of their story.
I loved everything about these two. Drew is sexy, kind, and loyal. Charlee is sweet, funny, and outspoken. There’s literally nothing to not love about them! Together they’ve got electric chemistry that steams up the pages along with having the kind of sweep you off your feet whirlwind romance that leaves you breathless. Deal Makers is what romantic comedy dreams are made of!
Dealing With Love has been an enjoyable series and I am sad to see it come to an end. I have enjoyed watching the friends and family come together to find their HEAs. Each book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest you read them in order because each of the characters play a main role in all of the books.
In Deal Makers, we are gifted with Charlee and Drew’s story. A little background for you, Charlee is Brody’s sister, Brody had his HEA in Deal Takers, and Drew is Devon’s brother, Drew had her HEA in Deal Breakers. As you can see this is a close group of friends and siblings so really it’s not surprising that Charlee and Drew found their way together. What was surprising was them waking up in Vegas MARRIED!!! I have to warn you that BRO CODE came to play big time in this story and whether you’re a fan of it or not it was a major deal that honestly took me by surprise. I know there is always talk of “You better not look at my sister or else” but this story brings that to a whole new level…for me anyway.
Laura Lee was a new to me author when I began the series but she is quickly becoming someone I am on the lookout for when she publishes a new book. Laura Lee’s books are funny yet emotional at times, and the chemistry is always sizzling.
You cannot go wrong if you’re looking for a book that will not only make you laugh but set your kindle ablaze by picking up any of the three books in this series. Happy Reading!!!
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
Oh My God, this book is so freakin hilarious!!!! Drew and Charlee bring the heat in this one!! I absolutely love brother’s best friend/sister and this one was one of the best I’ve read. Even though it can be read as a standalone, each and every character bring something to the book. This one you have a crazy night in Vegas and now Drew and Charlee have to deal with the aftermath. It played out just like I thought it would but it was so much to keep reading to see how they got out of it. I must say Nathan is one lucky dude. I would have loved to have a fun uncle who told me all kinds of things including things he wasn’t supposed to know about yet lol. Drew and Charlee have to decide whether or not, they want to keep going or give up. This group is hilarious especially Charlee and her brother Brody. They have no filters and just say whatever they feel like. This makes for some interesting moments. I loved Drew and Charlee together!! I also loved how this story ended. Cracked me up so hard!!
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just couldn’t get enough of it and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I recommend that you read it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlee is Brody’s older sister. Drew is Brody’s best friend. Drew and Charlee have some serious chemistry going on. The thing standing I their way is Brody and the Bro-code. One night in Vegas changes all that though. Both are drunk and having a blast when. They de die to get married. Only they don’t remember in the morning. What will happen when everyone finds out? Especially Brody……..

Choosing Deal Makers as my first book in the New Year was a great choice! See, my new year is already off to a great start.
While this book is the last in the Dealing with Love trio, they are stand alone novels. The relationships between the characters will be enhanced by reading them in order but it is not required to be able to enjoy them!
In the strange and ridiculous land of men, Bro Code reigns supreme. Most guys (fictional and real) wouldn’t dare violate bro code rules for fear of being kicked out of the club. At the top of all bro code rules… sisters are strictly off limits! (I’m a chick and even I knew that one!) Drew broke the cardinal rule in kissing Brody’s sister and he’s skating on thin ice with his best friend over it. He puts up a valiant, and hilarious, fight but there’s just something about Charlotte “Charlee” Harris. They’re supposed to stay awake from each other but after a drunken night in Vegas, all bets are off!
Charlee Harris knew there was something different about her brother’s best friend the first time she met him. Unfortunately, she was informed, in no uncertain terms, to stay away and something about a stupid Bro Code. She thinks they’re all juvenile and idiotic and Brody acted like a high and mighty ass when she and Drew were caught kissing but after seeing the true friendship between these guys, she is seriously debating whether wrecking the boy’s friendship is worth it. Even though they’re both deep into lustland, they manage to stay away from each other until the bachelor/bachelorette weekend in Vegas. Seriously, Vegas is where you go to cut loose and break all the rules, right? No one even has to know…except what happened in Vegas, didn’t stay in Vegas…she married her brother’s best friend?!
I loved this group of misfits! Even though Brody (and Rainey) is actually my favorite, he was a first rate idiot in this book. Lording his relationship over Drew and Charlee wasn’t fair and made him look juvenile but we all know boys are dumb, right? loved Drew and Charlee together. She’s a spitfire and a ball-buster, speaking her mind to whoever is around. She appears confident but Drew brings out her vulnerabilities and soothes them all out. Despite being a horndog early on, Drew is a sweet, loyal guy ready for his unicorn. The group together are hilarious and heartwarming! I enjoyed the final book in this trio and I’m actually sad they’re aren’t more friends! Great read!

This was acutely first read of 2019 so if this is any indication my year will be filed with light, funny and steam stories. I’m giving this one 4.5*
I loved Charlotte and her straightforward, take-no-shit attitude. When she sets her eyes on Drew she decided she’ll have him no matter what. Saying that I was a bit disappointed when she tried to do the right thing – I mean who in their right mind would choose to leave a man like Drew??? I loved Drew – with all his musicales he really was one big softy where Charlotte was concerned. I loved that he was fighting to keep her even with ultimatum that Brody set upon him (that was not cool man – not cool at all). And don’t get me started on the grand gesture that she pulled to show him how much he means to her – swoon
This series has made me a fan of Laura Lee’s work. I’ll defiantly be on the lookout for next book in the future.

Drew is trying very hard not to violate the Bro Code, but Charlee is just too big a temptation. What could one night in Vegas hurt? After all what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, or not. When you are laughing before the end of the first chapter, you know you’re in for a great time. There is so much I could say about this book, but I don’t want to spoil any of this marvelous read. This tale is full of laughter, a few tears, and plenty of steamy romance, and in between a wonderfully engaging story.
The characters are extremely appealing, and the storyline is very entertaining, holding your interest from beginning to end. As with the other stories in this series, this can be read as a standalone, but the characters are integrated throughout each story. Getting a view of their ongoing lives will increase the enjoyment for those who have read the previous books. I highly recommend this enjoyably amusing and delightful romance and series!
This was a good story about friends and a trip to Vegas that shows that whatever happened in Vegas stay in Vegas but it doesn’t. Drew and Charlee get married and hide it from everyone including her brother. When Brodie the brother finds out he gives and ultimatum it’s either her meaning his sister or me. Believing she’s doing the right thing Charlee mails the paperwork opening another can of worm
What’s yup with the Bro code? Know it’s out there but seriously!
This was my first read of 2019 and I have to say I loved it. The whole brothers best friend, married in Vegas thing was only the tip of all this story was. Drew and Charlee were so funny that my side hurt after reading some of the chapters. Add in awesome secondary characters ,(which I plan to read their books), steamy scenes that were off the chart hot and a great plot, this story was the trifecta. The back and forth between past and present was a little annoying at times but it really was necessary to get a well rounded story. We got to learn what happened in Vegas and still get the pace of the regular story. I can’t wait to go back and start this series from the start. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Let me also add that I loved when the characters talked to the reader. It was fun and just drew me in that much more to the characters.
Fact: Deal Makers was my first book by Laura Lee, and after reading a few reviews for the previous books in the series, I was looking forward to diving in. Sadly, this story was a bit of a dud for me. I found myself struggling to connect with the main characters and their antics had a lot to do with it.
That’s not to say it was all bad, it wasn’t. There were a few high points some funny moments thrown in too. I liked that Charlee was herself. Unapologeticly so. And Drew was willing to sacrifice the sacredness of the Bro Code to be with the only woman who had ever made him want more. But. for the most part, I found Drew and Charlee childish.
They were in their early 30’s but were behaving like someone a decade younger. Sure drunk and reckless in Vegas happens. Not remembering it the next morning also happens. But what was a little too far-fetched was the sudden recall, in vivid (steamy) detail of all that went down.
All that being said, Drew and Charlee really did fall for one another. Their emotions ran deep and they couldn’t seem to walk away. As evidenced by each of their actions when Brody threw out his ultimatum (insert eye roll). Overall, I think Deal Makers had the potential to be good, but the immature characters made it fall short.
3.5 stars
Charlee wants her brother’s best friend, Drew. She has no idea that the Bro Code exists, though, and when she finds out, she’s less than impressed by its stupid existence. Yep, Bro Code. That tired cliché wherein a guy is good enough to be friends with, but not good enough for the guy’s sister. Whatevs…I have two older brothers, and let me tell you, if one of them had the nerve to tell me his best friend wasn’t good enough for me because he was a manwhore just like my brother was, yeah well that would not have sat well with me. Talk about a hypocrite. Not that my brother ever thought any guy was good enough for me, but that’s not the same thing as saying his friend wasn’t good enough for me because he treated women the same way my brother did.
Anyway…Drew and Charlee eventually give in after a night of drunkenness in Vegas, where the whole gang is assembled for Riley and Devyn’s (from Deal Breakers) bachelor and bachelorette parties. Only giving in leads to a memory blackout and a marriage certificate. OOOOOPS! What will Drew do now that he’s broken Brody’s Bro Code?!
I have to say that I was a tad disappointed by Deal Makers. Brother’s best friend is one of my favorite tropes, but only when it’s done well. Here the brother part is what brought it down because Brody was a complete douche in this story and it influenced Charlee into making her own bad decisions. Before she messed up so epically near the end, I mostly liked her. I appreciated that she was funny and tough, but when she wimped out because of her stupid brother, I lost all respect for her, and the story. Drew, I loved though. He was sweet and sexy, and much more vulnerable than the average alpha hero these days.
There was also the problem that the pacing was a little off in Deal Makers. It bogged down in the middle and I started to get bored waiting for something to happen. The pace picked up at the end, but then it rushed headlong into a cute grand gesture. 3.5 stars seems fair for a story that while funny at times, and has a sexy lead, was draggy in the middle, and the secondary characters were annoying and influenced one of the leads into being annoying, too.
Charlee and Drew barely know each other, but they have been fighting an attraction to each other since they met a few months prior at the engagement party of Drew’s sister, who is also one of Charlee’s close freinds. Drew is the best friend of Charlee’s brother Brody, who has forbidden them from seeing each other. Not wanting to jeopardize their friendship, and respecting the ‘bro code,’ Drew agrees. Now the whole bridal party is on a weekend trip to Vegas, where Charlee and Drew end up drinking too much and waking up married. After a panic, and realizing they don’t have time to get an annulment before heading back to Seattle, they decide to keep the marriage a secret from everyone (especially Brody) and take care of it once they are home.
Back in Seattle, firefighter Drew and chef Charlee blend into each others’ lives perfectly. Every time they are together they end up forgetting to take care of the annulment and grow closer to each other. Finally, after several weeks, it all comes to a head with Brody, who is still insisting they cannot date each other.
What I liked: Charlee and Drew were both great characters. They really are good for each other. I also liked the other characters, especially Devyn, Riley, and Rainey. Another aspect that was entertaining was the lack of “fourth wall.” Drew and Charlee both address the reader directly and it’s actually quite entertaining.
What I didn’t like: Brody’s over the top protectiveness and ultimatums. He was an ass, and his excuse was way too flimsy for me to believe that everyone accepted it so easily.
Overall: Cute, fun read.
