WHEN IT’S TERRORIST vs. HURRICANE … EVERYBODY LOSES!
It’s July 5th, and the Cape Cod roadways are clogged with tourists heading home from the holiday weekend and trying to outrun an approaching potentially catastrophic hurricane. But in the blink of an eye, their lives are thrown into chaos when terrorists bring down all of the bridges to the Cape. Instantly, a half million terrified people … terrified people have no way to escape. And when the terrorists threaten to release anthrax on the captive population if their demands aren’t met, fear turns to all-out panic.
With time running out, Marcus Baldwin, a private investigator and former CIA operative, and Sara Cross, a disgraced ex-homicide detective, are brought together by a sole clue to the identity of the terrorists. They quickly realize that they may be the only ones with even a chance at stopping the plot before it’s too late.
With Category 4 Hurricane Chad barreling up the coast on a path for a direct hit on Cape Cod, it becomes frighteningly clear to everyone trapped on what has now become an island—one way or another they are probably all going to die.

This book was much better than I was expecting it to be. What do you get when you mix action, suspense, good characters, bad people and a natural disaster all in one at Cape Cod? This book! It was a good versus evil mixed in with innocent people in the town. Well written with good characters and plot. Worth listening to or reading. I will look for more by Andrew Cunningham.
This is a MUST READ – perfect for this time we are living in!
Absolutely loved this book! With covid19 going on this was a great time to release this one! I couldn’t wait to turn the page! Now that I have finished this one my “to be read pile” just got a little bigger because I added all of Andrew’s books to it. If you like thrills, twists, and turns this is a perfect book.
This book is filled w/action and suspense from the start. I normally listen via audio in my car to & from work, however, I couldn’t put this book down! It’s filled w/well developed relatable characters and a gripping story. Andrew Cunningham does an incredible job keeping all the story-lines flowing smoothly. I would recommend this book to fans of mystery, action, disaster and detective works. It was highly enjoyable 5 Stars *****
Greg Hernandez is one of the best narrators ever! His voice is crystal clear and very easy to follow.
I’m looking forward to another great story Wisdom Springs Written by: Andrew Cunningham Read by: Greg Hernandez.
Deadly Shore by Andrew Cunningham is a whirlwind thriller set in the magnificent location of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I’d read other books in this fine author’s collection of mysteries and thrillers, and absolutely loved them. But this book is my all-time favorite.
I’m actually mourning the end of Deadly Shore and know I it will stay with me for days. That’s always the sign of a great story, isn’t it?
The plot is hauntingly real, as more and more insane terrorists repeatedly hurl attacks at our civilized world. And to think of my beloved Cape Cod–where we spend one week every summer–being decimated by not only a terrorist, but a class four hurricane, is horrifying.
Mr. Cunningham has a unique style which is smooth, authentic, and easy to read. I zoomed through this book without any hesitation or pondering of overwritten prose, as some authors are apt to do. The simplicity of his writing is a difficult skill to master, and he has truly nailed it.
I love the main characters of Sarah and Marcus, the two law-enforcement heroes, the former an unjustly expelled police officer and the latter an ex-CIA agent. But as often happens in well-developed, deeply-layered books, I fell in love with two side characters named Ann Lawrence and Joe Doyle. Ann is a an elderly woman living on her own in an aging house nestled behind the dunes in Truro. Joe Doyle, a smalltime crook who just bungled the biggest robbery in his career, is a lovable, but dumb crook who takes refuge in her house during the hurricane. I truly felt a tug of regret when they parted ways on the shores of Cape Cod in the last scene. And I really hope that this talented author decides to write a spinoff with these two characters.
Deadly Shore is highly recommended for those who love high action, character-rich, seaside thrillers.
