Where do I begin? Romance, suspense, thrills wrapped up in a legal bow. It was a well done story. I learned quite a bit about the legal world from an admirable heroine. It kept me guessing because the evil that I thought I knew was not what I thought at all. I loved it. 4 1/2 Stars. Full review is at my website.
I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Litfuse Blog Tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are my own.
Great read!
This is the first that I’ve read by this author, and I’m looking forward to more by her. Great characters and it kept the story line moving.
Ohh this was such a good mystery thriller. This is the first book by Rachel Dylan that I have read and I am thoroughly impressed. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is the first book in the Atlanta Justice Series. In this story top attorney Kate Sullivan has just landed lead on her first multijurisdictional case. The case is against a big pharm company call Mason Pharmaceutical Company. They developed and released a drug that caused brain tumors in the people who had taken the drug. Some of the tumors even caused death. After a nervous woman who has info on the case turns up dead, Kate decides that she will need to hire a PI to help her investigate. Her normal PI that she hires is unavailable, but he suggests someone else named Landon James.
Landon is ex military with a dark past. He is throwing hisself into work to avoid dealing with his darkness. When he accepts the position to help Kate, he didn’t realize that it may be his toughest job yet. As things get dicey and Kate becomes a target, Landon has to hire a security company to help him. He is worried for her safety for more reasons than just business. Can Landon keep her safe and deal with his own feelings?
As the case heats up strange things begin to happen. Someone on the inside is trying to sabotage the case. On top of that someone is gunning for her. Is there anyone Kate can trust? As things heat up and the case gets closer to the trial date more things happen and she is scared, but will she be able to just walk away?
This book was well written and the characters were well-developed. The characters use their faith to get them through some of the trying times. Kate is a firm believer and such a strong character. Landon has some demons he is dealing with. Meeting Kate may just be what can help him to find the lighted path out of the darkness. Maybe he can also find his way back to his faith.
This is an action packed thriller and will keep you turning the pages till the end. It is full of surprises, twists and turns. Just when you think you have it all figured out a new twists will throw you off. Not only that but it is so full of danger and thrills.
I really enjoyed this book and will look for more from this author. She keeps the audience captivated and her story does not have any lacking areas. I highly recommend this book to those who love The Woman’s Murder Club Series by James Patterson. It is a thrilling read!
Get ready for a high octane, exciting roller coaster
type journey into a tangled web of clues, mystery,
murder, deceit, intrigue, secrets, kidnapping and
much more suspense!!!
The story combines romantic suspense and a well
written legal thriller into one that the reader will
want to read in one sitting.
Kate Sullivan, a trial lawyer has just been chosen
as the lead council in a huge case against Mason
Pharmaceutical Company regarding their release
of dangerous, life threatening drugs. With information
from a whistleblower, she is determined to prove
their liability. But at what cost?????
Landon James is a former Army Ranger who has
turned private investigator. He is recommended to
Kate to help her investigate the whistleblowers
claims. But as danger lurks closer and closer to
Kate his job changes to protecting her.
These two main characters are two bold, problem
solving but flawed persons with hauntings from their
past.
They are well developed characters sharing undeniable
chemistry. They find themselves involved in
an unpredictable plot.
The story was plotted out flawlessly. There were sub
plots within the main plot and lots of twists and turns.
A real page turner!!!
I volunteered to read Deadly Proof. Thanks to the
author and publisher for the opportunity via Net Gallery.
My opinion is my own.
Deadly Proof by Rachel Dylan is a faith based legal thriller with some sweet romance. Kate Sullivan is a lawyer in a prestigious firm in Midtown Atlanta. She has been named lead council on a huge case which involves Mason Pharmaceutical Corporation. Kate feels emotionally compelled to win justice for her clients who developed brain tumors after taking a prescription drug for migraines called, Celix. Kate is pitted against her best friend from college as he is the lawyer representing MPC. She expects him to proceed with the integrity she has always believed of him.
Kate receives a mysterious call from one of MPC’s scientists asking Kate for a secret meeting. Kate meets with Ellie Proctor in a coffee shop and is given just hints of information that Celix is not the only drug the plaintiff’s lawyer should be gathering information about for this trial. They schedule another meeting to discuss it further. Kate decides to hire Landon James, a private investigator to check Ellie’s background to make sure she is not just a disgruntled employee. The next day Ellie is shot and killed in the parking garage at MPC. Was it random crime or was MPC taking out a whistle blower?
The story keeps the readers interest alert with information about how Big Pharma takes calculated risks even if they are aware there may be harmful side effects with a drug. They are willing to pay a certain amount if the revenue they are receiving from the drug is still bringing in large sums before the drug goes generic. Also, the faith Kate relies on each day gives her strength to continue her legal fight, even when she is attacked and threatened! A Very Good Faith Based Thriller!
Rachel is one of my favorite authors when it comes to Christian suspense, and this book is example of why that is. For the reader who enjoys a good legal suspense story combined with some romance, this book is one you will really enjoy. This is also a book that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book in the Atlanta Justice series, and I am certainly eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I was given a copy of this book by the author, but a favorable review was not required. The opinions expressed are my own.
