The book started slow, but knowing that books written in the Victorian times usually did provide a lot more background than today’s books do, I kept going back to it. I’m glad I kept going back to it as I was fully engaged by chapter 3 and thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Fun read depicting the times. Good, clean story.
An enjoyable read that brings the era alive, tells an interesting story and develops knowable characters.
Kept me guessing for quite a while. Good character development.
This book is part of a series and I have read all of the books in the series. The reading is light, romantic, fun and a little kooky but just a nice easy read that takes one back to a time when things were simpler. I’ll probably read them all again one day in the future.
This is the latest in this author’ s mystery series set in San Francisco. The characters are engaging and the plots very well-written mysteries. In addition, the books provide a great glimpse into the world of women’s rights in early 20th century San Francisco.
Great turn of the last century who done it.
Too sĺow. I could not force myself to finish
Terrible dialogue and cardboard characters. Interesting premise but badly executed.
I highly recommend this whole series to anyone who likes a well-written, historically-accurate mystery novel. It’s got excellent characters, a great sense of place (San Francisco), and kept me hooked until the end.
Excellent series, great stories, very well written!
Ok
Locke”s books are always entertaining and unexpected while being easy to read I highly recommend this entire series which has the same loveable, interesting characters.
A very interesting look into women’s rights and history near the turn of the century. Men were. Dry chauanist characters.
I enjoyed this book. Just finished it. Did not want to put it down. I also enjoyed the book before this in the series as well.
