One Discerning Princess. Three Ambitious Princes. Four Kingdoms Fighting for their Survival.Upon the death of her father, Princess Yasmine learns that she must marry a prince before she can rightfully claim her father’s throne and become Queen of the Mountain Mist. She willfully rejects the idea and wishes to rule the throne by herself. Her advisors, who believe she is not capable of ruling … of ruling alone, decide that a competition of strength will determine who sits upon their throne. A prince from each of the three surrounding kingdoms is invited to compete for the crown and the hand of Princess Yasmine. The princess, however, will test the princes in her own way to determine their worth.
The death of Yasmine’s father, King Grigor, couldn’t have come at a worse time because the kingdoms are under attack by Senki Demoni, shadow demons who kill without warning or cause. If the four kingdoms can’t find a way to work past their differences and unite to destroy the Senki once and for all, each of them risk losing everything.
Yasmine must decide who, if any, can win her heart, the seafarer, the archer, or the sorcerer. Can one of the three handsome princes prove themselves worthy of the defiant princess, who doesn’t believe she needs a king by her side to rule her people? Together, can they solve the mystery behind the Senki attacks and save their kingdoms?

I am always in awe of how this author weaves an epic story of how a heroine comes to be oh so powerful. Her world building – the politics of a new fictional world and the dynamics of certain group of interest to play as characters – has always amazed me. And she nails the reverse harem element so well it’s one of the most natural rh settings. And this new read from her is not an exception.
Although it has been inferred that the then Princess has been seen as a traditional Princess figure in her Kingdom, Yasmine actually started out strong; sassy and witty while she devised plans to gauge each personality of the princes. What I love about her the most is how obvious it is to me the strengths and greatest points of this character all the meanwhile everyone – at least most of them, I guess – continuously undermines her. I love how she proves them wrong at every turn. And though I did see how she started out strong (in a very good way though), she still improves as a character the more chapters I read. It chills me how she suits being a Queen so well. She’s got the brain to keep up with all the mindfck and power plays in a man’s world and the heart to be compassionate and fair which most men cannot deliver. There’s no doubt she will flourish more in the upcoming books in the series. I can barely wait to see that.
I love the princes. Each one of them reminded me of the princes from the disney movie Brave at first. I thought how unfit they are all to be the King who deserved Yasmine. I actually thought and was giddy that Yasmine will pull a Merida and compete against the princes for the throne. Lol. But eventually the princes pulled their heads out of their metaphoric butts and stopped being ruled by the weaknesses of their respective fathers.
I have such a huge crush on General Ryker and Kirkan though…I hope they are possible love interests as well? if not, they make formidable allies anyway so it’s still a freaking win nonetheless.
Yasmine is the Princess of the Mountain Mist. When her father dies with no other heir, his advisors decide that the best way to secure the kingdom is to marry her off to one of the neighboring kingdoms’ princes. Being a headstrong and self-assured woman, she balks and sets out to fight the contests set to determine her future King from the start.
Enter Prince’s Fredek, Darius, and Radu. Each has their pros and cons, each enters the contests for their own reasons. Each will also find a reason to eventually respect and maybe even love the Princess.
Can they come together to find the strength to defeat a mutual enemy? Will any of them find love and “win the prize”? Will the Princess find love with any of these Princes? Heck, will she find the strength to be the leader she dreams of becoming? So many questions, so much action, now to find the answers they each seek!
