This is book five in The Stealth Security Series and it is Thaddeus and Jana’s story. Thaddeus is a former navy seal and he now works for Stealth Security, he is used to being alone and he is definitely not relationship or marriage material but when he is assigned to be a bodyguard to Jana things get a bit complicated. Jana is a independent, sassy and strong woman after being raised by her grandmother from a early age and after taking over her grandfather’s shop she invented something worth a lot of money for the skiing world as skiing was Jana passion but when she becomes a target because of her invention her grandmother hires Thaddeus to be her body bodyguard to protect her but things don’t go as planned between them as Jana feels that she doesn’t need anyone to take care of her until danger gets closer and she realised that maybe she does need help. Jana and Thaddeus have strong chemistry but they are both stubborn about crossing that line. Wow I absolutely loved this book with all its twists and turns and it was a real page turner as it took me in right from the first page and kept my attention right to the last page and I couldn’t put this book down. Emily Jane Trent is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Jana finds herself receiving threatening text and letters . When things escalate her Grandmother hires Thaddeus Jonsson of Stealth Security to protect her . As threats get worse Thaddeus protects Jana and tries to discover who is behind everything that happens and tries to keep things between them business only but strong feelings are hard to fight and danger is on Jana’s heels . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Wonderfully sexy romance full of drama and suspense. Jana is working on an amazing an invention and when someone takes a shot her while skiing, she realizes the written threats she had been receiving may be serious. Her grandmother enlists Thaddeus to be her bodyguard. Jan doesn’t want a bodyguard but if she has to have one, well Thad is definitely a pleasure to look at. Thad doesn’t see himself as relationship material following his years in the military in very solitary roles but Jana’s spirit, confidence and beauty have captivated him. As he works to protect her from an unknown threat, will he find that he does have a heart to lose? I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Deadly intentions unfold in this pristine landscape…
From the very start, Emily Jane Trent will draw you into a wonderful, page-turning story of beautiful scenery, and a confounding plot that our leading heroine would rather tackle head on herself. She’s an elite athlete, disciplined, and strong willed woman. Yet sometimes… all it takes is a just as determined grandmother, a bullet that comes a tad to close for comfort, to change your mind, that you need professional help even if its not wanted.
Both characters were individually determined and highly focused on their agenda’s. No give or compromise, yet internally their flaws, vulnerabilities and insecurities are revealed. While Thaddeus’s near silence isn’t easy to work with, it’s grounding also for Jana. Always there to keep you focused and safe, when you need it most.
While this story did have a really slow buildup romantically… sometimes characters aren’t instantly attracted to each other, especially when past experiences and history are blocking the way. Amidst the intrigue and investigation unfolding, they are certainly aware of each other, yet doing their utmost to deny themselves. That in itself is chemistry. While it did seem to take a long time… it in no way deflects from the suspense and drama happening around them.
With the suspect list ‘piling” up just who is this perpetrator, their motive to want Jana not only ruined but dead??
Could there have been more about this “perpetrator”? just to add more to the intrigue and suspense – that would have been good to further enhance the list of perps! Still a fabulous dive into a series I’ve not read before…
Emily Jane Trent gifts you a story of suspense, with a deadly motive to kill. Some twists and turns to keep you guessing in DEADLY PERIL. A wonderful story and plot that while a little slow, it certainly captures the essence of frustrations, doubts and determination to find the “bad guy” no matter how long it takes.
Such breath taking scenery sets the tone depicted inside this book. I felt like I was right there cross country skiing up and down the slopes, in the chilling snowy winter fields she created as the story backdrop. I’ve never had the privilege of seeing snow or skiing, so this story makes one want to visit Tahoe. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Emily Jane’s story. I look forward toreading both previous and future books in the STEALTH SECURITY series.
