In the first pages of Deadlock, we meet Randy and Rooster – code name Honey – just coming off an assignment in Africa and heading to Tanzania for some R & R with Randy’s sister Meg. Except the guys aren’t on R & R long before they’re assigned to protect Meg and the other scientists in her group.
With her usual uncompromising talent for the fine details, Quinn has crafted another masterpiece. The time and attention she expends on knowing her subjects – weaponry, the military, strategy, politics, third world countries and their issues – all combine to give the reader an experience they won’t soon forget. These characters are engaging, sympathetic, and sometimes even humorous. The situations in which they find themselves leave me awestruck. That she weaves a thread of romance throughout is a part of what makes these “romantic thrillers” but the thrill is always the leading character.
I highly recommend this book and this author!
What a great third book in this series!
I’m am just loving all the Iniquus books!
Job very well done to the author!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!!
Fiona Quinn put a great effort into this book, with richly built scenarios that evidenced a lot of research. I so appreciate well rounded out stories and supplying in depth descriptive layers and information made for a meaty read that supports wonderfully filled out characters. I have always enjoyed Quinn’s novels, but this one stands out. Well done. Don’t miss it.
this is another page turning story, if you like suspense you will like the story
The romance of scientist, Meg and Iniquius hostage negotiator, Rooser (Honey) Honig has it all. There are terrorists, bombs, kidnappings, a snake, at times along a bit of humor. By their stength and growing love the two survive, defeat the enemy this time and all are safe. It was a treat to be introduced to the Iniquius family and I hope to read more of their adventures. I hope Randy’s story is one of them
What I loved about Deadlock so much is that it felt different the Relic and Wasp the action while life-threatening and heart-stopping, the story didn’t feel as gasp-worthy which is not a bad thing it’s because Rooster is a totally different character to the other guy’s, he is a gentle giant who can kill when he needs to and talk about his feelings the next, there was even some light-hearted humor infused into the story which had been laughing out loud, the circumcision conversation was so funny. This was a brilliantly written love at first sight story, you felt the shivers when he saw Meg’s photo and even though you knew what was going to happen you still had more than a few surprises along the way.
I really enjoyed it this series has so many interesting elements that the author has linked together so well. I am so excited to read more books from this author.
This was actually the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be my last either. I just loved Rooster AKA Honey throughout the whole book. Meg was a strong heroine and certainly was no damsel in distress. These two were hot right off the bat and also melted my kindle.
This book had me on the edge of my seat! This is the third book in the Uncommon Enemies Series. This was my first book to read and I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone. It had exotic locations, terrorist kidnapping people for ransom, two trained security specialists on R & R with one of the two’s adopted sister, a funny misunderstanding regarding sexual orientation a cute orphan who is a big help and the beginning of love as two of them are fighting for their lives as hostages. I hope there is more about this couple in future books.
Loved the Detail
Loved this book with its details of exotic places, people and customs. The story was detailed a written nicely. The characters are well defined. Look forward to more from this author.
I am not very versed in the romantic suspense genre and anything with animals is usually a not go for be but this book kept me on the edge of my set, turning the pages and gasping with each new turn in the story. I will be reading this author again. I loved the development of the story and how the author decided to put it together. The characters were rich in detail and thoughts and I could picture their lives and feel their emotions. The steamy was well balanced with the action and mystery.
this book was really good! he has always helped hostages because he was trained to. now hes being held hostage with a woman he slept with. he will protect her at all costs.
Honey Honig a Delta Force trained hostage negotiator and Meg an animal migration scientist meet in Tanzania while he is trailing after the kidnappers of his last rescued victims. As they each secretly try to fight their mutual attraction to one another, they are thrust into a dangerous world of geo-political chaos. They are forced to thwart a heinous global plot where they have to use all of their skills, knowledge and abilities to fight for their lives and their fellow hostages.
I was not prepared for this big budget action film in a low cost ebook! I was blown away by the non-stop pulse pounding action of this book! I felt like Michael Bay was directing the pages! I was however even more impressed by the wealth of cultural knowledge found in this book. I felt like I was given a passport and transported to Tanzania on a guided tour with National Geographic. The incredible amount of knowledge that the author imparts about the indigenous cultures of Tanzania and their lives was wonderful! I could smell the street food, feel the hot Tanzanian sun on my skin and the residue of the salt mines as the author explores the region while taking the book’s protagonists on a dangerous adventure.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series as I have no doubt it will give more action than a Hollywood blockbuster with the depth of a cultural anthropologist! So good!
An intense and intriguing plot involving terrorists, scientists, and African’s politics. Become immersed in the world of Africa and a kidnapping involving terrorists and international crime. Follow along as Rooster and Meg try to save the day as they become endangered themselves in this deadly and fast pacing plot. Filled with lots of action, suspense, humor, and romance, this story is one you don’t want to miss reading.
Fiona Quinn knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats! This fast paced read takes you into the world of terrorists and the good guys trying to stop them, with a touch of romance thrown in to keep you sane. Great read!
