It held my interests from beginning to end. I just purchased the 2nd book in the series and plan to read them all.
True to life setting. Rose has been running back Aspen Falls since leaving after High School graduation. She had been trying to prove she was good enough to her successful parents and sister. Only she kept messing up. This time was the biggest screw up of all. Drugs. How did she not see Damien’s secret income. Now she was trying to run away only to have his little enterprise to follow her. The twists and turns to her freedom will surprise you. A must read.
Very well done.
This was a great book from the first page, to the last page. I loved it.
This book kept me interested from start to finish. Good characters that went well together and a story line that flowed nicely. Looking forward to more from this author.
This is a very good coming home story. It hits all the right buttons with good story line and characters. Love a good ending.
The cover was really eye catching, so I thought I’d like the novel. I think like a lot of the other reviewers said, there were a series of bad decisions almost just to keep the plot going. I think one of the things the MC did was terrible and there seemed to be no repercussions for that. Some of the characters were a bit stereotypical. Blaine was a bit meh about life in general I think. The head hopping from him to Rosie made it hard to work out what was going on – I did a lot of rereading.
BUT I liked the plot. It kept me reading. I enjoyed the story line of second chances, of someone who stuffed up majorly and yet managed to go back to where she felt good about life and reset. That’s a good message. The writing was decent and the plot moved along quite fast.
Interesting twists to the plot.
This book is an example all teens need guidance in decision making. But her support system helped her stand on her own. This a a pleasant read on my commute to & from work.
Good read
Good story, surprise plot
This book was a good read. I wasn’t sure how Rosie was going to get herself out of the mess she was in. Circumstances and fear had her doing things she normally wouldn’t do. The book goes back and forth from present day the past quite a bit in the beginning. But overall it was a good read with a good ending.
Suspense and romance are perfect!
Interesting story of small town girl returning to the place from which she vowed never to return. Her bad choices are catching up with her so she returns to the one person in town who understood her. She reconnects with the boy who was bullied in high school. She stepped in and made him rethink his life and he has always had a crush on her. Bad guys are caught and all ends well.
Enjoyed this very much. Rosie returned to hometown and to high school friend that she had saved his life. He proceeds to help her in her situation. Very good read.
Read it in one day. He was bullied as a teen and she saved him from suicide. After graduation she left their small town but he always loved her. He became a cop and had a girlfriend when she came back in trouble. Lots of action. At times he got a little sappy so that lost a star. No sex scenes.
Wow, great suspense in this story. Rosie is on the run from her ex and heads to her hometown. Her former high school friend is now the local cop. Will she tell him what drama is happening so he can save her or will she dig herself into a deeper hole? Drugs have infiltrated this town, who is involved? Great action packed suspense with the promise of love. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rosie’s story kept me captivated from the very beginning. Her dangerous situation kept me turning pages, and the plot twist at the end had me on the edge of my seat. I loved every minute of this story! I can’t wait to see what happens next in Aspen Falls.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
Well done. Good balance of character interaction and suspense. Enjoyable read.
I have mixed feelings about this book. Overall, it’s a good book. Dead of Winter is well written and, in my opinion, its an easy read. Thrilling, full of suspense with a dash of romance are some of the reviews that I have come across. I feel like there could have been a better build up.
The plot seemed a little anti-climactic to me. The best way I can explain it is, imagine opening a can of pepsi and expecting that first bite and fizz of caffeine but instead that first sip is flat. Do I recommend this book for you to read? Definitely. My opinion is only one of many. This could be your next fave so buy it, read it and enjoy.
