Witch Violet Shaughnessy knew becoming involved with a vampire was the last thing she should do, especially as her parents had been murdered by one. There was something about Finn O’Malley that called to her though, and she couldn’t keep away, even giving him her blood to save his life. Through darkness and despair, her magic cursed, and good and evil fighting for dominance inside her, Violet reaches out to Finn through their blood connection, knowing he’s the only one that can save her.

I loved this book from the connection between Fin and Violet from the beginning to the end. The only parts of the book that annoyed me a little were when they were getting to the part of finding out what was happen to Violet and would just start a steamy scene and I just so wanted to see how this story was going to end because it was just getting so good. But they did pull it together in the end. A great story was written by a very talented author.
Part 3 of a series of stories about the town of Sanctuary where every living creature can live in peace. Even though I haven’t read previous parts (but I definitely want to now!), this book is a standalone and refers to other characters who had their stories in earlier parts.
This story is about a witch (Violet) and a vampire (Finn). They have met before and Finn formed a bond with her when she saved him and made him drink her blood. Through this bond he feels her pain when she is kidnapped and wants to save her. After her near-death experience, she admits her feelings for Finn and then hot sex scenes follow as they search for Violet’s kidnappers. The love between Violet and Finn continues to grow and their connection is so deep, the conversations they can have in each other’s heads are sweet and full of love, but also humorous. The other residents of Sanctuary help to unravel the mystery surrounding the kidnapping of Violet.
I thought this was a great paranormal novel with multiple touches of magic that made for a very happy ending.

Violet Shaughnessy is a witch with flaming red hair and a temper to match it. She is the first one to offer help to a friend in need, but not normally very good at asking for it in return, this until her world is turned upside down and a war begins inside of her that she cannot control, or decide what the outcome will be.
Finn O’Malley is one of the oldest vampires around, he has seen it all, done it all and all that is left now is to disappear and not to bother with his undead life anymore, this is until he hears Violet screaming through their blood bond. He realises that helping her is the last thing that he will do and even out the score for her sharing her blood with him and saving him in the past.
This unlikely pairing shows the other that they have to work together in order to overcome the barriers and challenges they will face, but working together, can they embrace the other, accept what needs to be accepted and face the outcome of that internal war?
This is one pairing which will keep you on the edge of your seat, as the tug of war is played out and keeps you guessing as to the who’s, whats, where’s and why’s are slowly revealed.
“Dead Magic, book 3 in The Sanctuary Chronicles series and also my first book of the author India Kells and surely it won’t be the last one. What in the world did I just finished reading? A cursed witch, a vampire and a love that must defy a spell… as you can guess it was epic!
Witch Violet life changed drastically when she was kidnapped and tortured. I feel sad for what happened to her. The anxiety and the mystery behind their kidnapping had me on the edge of my seat. Lucky for Violet, she had on of the oldest vampires walking on earth protecting her. Finn was one of the most beautiful souls! He did the ultimate sacrifice for Violent and between tears my love for him grew more. He was hot and sexy for sure but he was also caring, protective and romantic on his own special way. The connection between them was more deeper than just an exchange of blood. It made the bond between them unique and their romance was delightful to read.
Magic, vampires, a spell and supporting friends. Violent and Finn are running out of time to defeat the mystery seeking Violet soul. An amazing paranormal romance that you must read. Once you start reading you won’t be able to put the book down.”
This is the third book in The Sanctuary Chronicles and although I didn’t read the first two, I didn’t find myself confused or missing big parts of the story; though I’m sure reading the pervious books would give me more depth of understanding in regards to the characters.
I LOVED Finn … who doesn’t love the tired, weary Vampire … made me think about Lestat a lot with his inner monologues telegraphing his weariness with continuing to exist.
Then he met Violet a fiery witch who when needed offered to feed him … double edged sword … now they have a connection. This helped him find her when needed but did she want to be found? This was an intense drama, with action and adventure.

Definitely recommend this book. The characters have a love hate relationship. When this man shows he will do anything for this little witch she let’s her attraction rule her. There is danger all around and it is up to them to follow the trail to find the truth.

Dead Magic is the latest book in the Sanctuary Chronicles and it does not disappoint. This is Violet and Finn’s story. It is snarky, explosive, tragic, funny, hopeful and steamy H.O.T. When these two are together sparks fly and in this book they ignite. Will they survive the flames and trials facing them? Read this fantastic book to find out!
This is the third book in this series. I loved this one just as much as the previous books. This is a story that has well developed characters that bring the story to life. I had no issues connecting to them with each page I turned. What will happen when you have a vampire who wants to disappear but is intrigued by a witch and a strong bond? She gave him her blood to save him but will he be able to save her? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens between this vampire and witch. They have awesome chemistry and really make this story what it is. I also enjoyed how the secondary characters are supportive and add to the story. I highly suggest checking out this book and this author.
This was a book that really drew me in right away and kept my attention for pretty much the whole book. There is a sense of urgency, darkness, light, forbidden love, redemption and forgiveness that keeps you turning the pages as you hope that things will work out for Violet and Finn.
Violet is a powerful witch and Finn is a very ancient vampire and according to the laws that govern them both their union is not one that will be sanctioned by the higher ups.
Violet has reasons to hate vampires and Finn knows that wanting her is a lost cause. Circumstances beyond their control draw them together and only together can they deal with this new foe.
Violet relies on know one if she can help it. She has now found herself a part of a family that will not allow her to battle on her own, in her mind she thinks leaving will keep them safe whilst they want her to understand she does not have to face the darkness alone.
Finn while his world is one of darkness, and though he loves to bait Violet, for him she is his light and the only thing keeping him from taking that final step to oblivion.
These two are a very strong team and their dual POV’s made the story come to life. The secondary characters or self made family rounded out the cast in a nice way and gave you that close knit feeling that makes for a great read.

Balanced on the edge of life and death. Finn is one of the oldest vampires, around since Roman times.
Violet gave him blood more than once, and they forged a blood bond.
When she is pushed to the edge of death and beyond, can he save her? Can they save each other – perhaps in more ways than one?
When the weight of not being truly, fully dead weighs heavily on vampires, what cost?
Intense drama, action and adventure, and psychological thriller

Enjoyable good read. I really like the connection between the two characters and their back stories.
To understand how they met and their full connection I’d recommend reading the first two books first. Finally read the other two books first so you dont read the conclusion of the other characters and then not bother- for flow alone it’s best to read the others even if they are standalones.
An ancient vampire finds purpose and hope in the main heroine in a dangerous situation. I voluntarily received this book for an honest review
