I really wanted to like this book and took it at face value as just a fun beach book. I couldnt fight through the writing style and “plot twists” though. Had to abandon ship half way through unfortunately.
I loved this book. It was very long but well worth the time spent reading it. I also read the follow-on novel “Vigilante Assassin”
Wow this book puts a whole new meaning to phone sex! Tiffany Winters is literally glued to her phone, after moving to New York from LA to start her own business she is determined to make it work, so she makes herself available 24/7 to her clients to the detriment to her own life. That is until she meets Dylan Bad.
Dylan Bad is the owner of Nightcaps bar and meets Tiffany when she pops into a bar to take a phone call and gatecrashed Mick Bad’s wedding at the same time. Dylan is instantly intrigued and attracted to her and makes it know to her.
Both of them have this most amazing chemistry together and proof that opposites do attract, and oh my wow the sex is hot! Even on the phone!
As the book progresses their relationship grows and we see Tiffany break down her walls and slowly let go of the phone – she likes to be in control all the time so this is a big deal for her. Dylan is so accommodating and patient with her that it shows a sweet side that wouldnt think would be there with a name like Bad – they are great together and just the right kind of perfect for each other.

It started off okay, but really bogged down 1/3 of way through. Premise of hot U.S. Marine with best friend cop, military dog, and hot female veterinarian plus Russian killer just didn’t cut it. I made it through half the book nd then deleted it. Oh well! The author should stick to entrepreneurship and not writing.
I couldn’t finish this book. It was too annoying. I managed to get through 40% and deleted it. Besides the fact that it is so unrealistic, it was like he was trying to get everything he had ever wanted to put into any book into this one book. It didn’t seem to matter to Mr. Nolan if it was relevant or not, he put it in the book.
The characters were all over the top. Every one was either just a little too bad or a little too good to be believable. His characters were like caricatures. He would have been more successful if he had written a couple of different books. In one he could have written about the Russian. In another, he could have written about Jake and Terrell in the Marines. Since this is Jake Wolfe Book 1, he fully intends to continue this story-line.
I realize this was a loan from Amazon Prime, and I paid nothing for it. But, this book was a waste of my time. I will not be reading anything else by Mark Nolan.
