In the tenth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood—Sookie Stackhouse learns that not even her psychic abilities can help her solve all the problems in Bon Temps, Louisiana…After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Fae War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she’s mad. “4.5 out of 5 stars! Charlaine has done it again!! This Sookie Stackhouse novel is one of the best thus far, with all of the drama that they usually entail, but…”

The book series was a hoot! I enjoyed it so much more than the HBO series especially the heroine’s down home southern colloquial description of small town life when the vampires come out of the closet. Totally addictive reading.
Oh man! Makers, fairies, vampires, werewolves, shamans, drugs etc. This has it all and it was flawlessly put together. Loved it!
I am still enjoying Sookie’s world. I am glad there are not many book left though. I am still enjoying Sookie and Eric’s relationship. However, I do hope that Eric is not the end game. There are many characters is hope to see more of in future books, such as Hunter and Remy.
Of the vampire genre, I found it easy to read and not as gruesome as some.
Loved the whole series. If you have seen the television series TRUE BLOOD, you can still read the books as there are enough little tweaks to keep you entertained.
This is a good book, not great but good. The series is classic and you can tell that by the time the author got to this book in the series she was starting to wrap it up.
Love all her books
This is the sixth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I have enjoyed them so much I have read them all.
i love all her books and am grateful i haven’t read them all
This 10th Sookie Stackhouse book was as good as the previous ones. Some of my questions were answered but as usual there are new questions and some left unanswered as of yet. The pace was slower but after DAG I felt Sookie needed far less danger in her life. It felt like Sookie had matured. She doesn’t seem so quick with her choices & decisions.
For some reason this book left me feeling sad. I somehow feel that there will be some big changes in store for Sookie in the following book or books.
I’m amused by the rural twist on urban fantasy/paranormal romance.
I have loved all of the Sookie Stackhouse books. There is no other book series that competes or compares. Amazing character development. I was sad to reach the end of the series.
Dead in the Family has Sookie’s involvement throughout but it felt like she was on the outside looking in. Scenes felt half developed & thrown together. I hope the next book is better.
I loved the entire series.
Loved the series
Absolutely love every book in this series! Highly recommend!
Definitely not my favorite book in the series. It started very slow with no real story line. Sookie is still recovering from her latest misadventures and everyone seems to be moving along in life quite well. Hunter, Hailey’s son, makes an appearance and Sookie gets to teach him some things. Bill isn’t recovering very well from his injuries and, as usual, Sookie gets in his business and on the sly does something to help him. It starts getting interesting when Eric’s sire shows up with an interesting sibling for Eric. I love how the author uses real people from history in her books and this character was such an interesting pick. I love how she used his tragic past to shape the character. Also, toward the end of the book, Sookie is once again asked to help the Weres at a meeting. I feel like they use her so much.
Love this series
