The werewolves and shifters come out of the closet and throw the small town of Bon Temps into a tailspin in the ninth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood.Except for cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, folks in Bon Temps, Louisiana, knew little about vamps—and nothing about Weres. Until now. The Weres and … nothing about Weres. Until now. The Weres and shifters have finally revealed their existence to the ordinary world, and the backlash may have claimed the life of someone Sookie knew. But her determination to find out who is responsible for the murder is put aside in the face of a far greater danger. A race of unhuman beings—older, more powerful, and more secretive than vampires or werewolves—is preparing for war. And Sookie will find herself an all-too-human pawn in their battle…

“5 out of 5 stars. I really liked this book ….. it was more along the lines of letting the readers know about the details instead of the action itself … but it brought all of the multiple stories that this series has into play and I really liked it!”

Love the entire series!
What a book. So much keeps happening. This one was one of the worst but also the best. I can’t wait to read the next one.
One of my favorite book series
One good book of many in this interesting series of stories.
Love this series!
Love everything in this series!
The Sookie Stackhouse novels are wonderful! Please do not judge them by the tv show!
Grab it. If you love vampires, this is a must read.
It’s ok
While not the best she has written, it still is far better than anything els in this genre.
Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood’s heroine of TV fame, is the feature character here. If you haven’t seen the vampire series, this is one in the series that created the cult classic. And while it is somewhere in the middle of the pack of books, it stands alone. Darkly funny, often grisly, seriously atmospheric, Bon Temps LA is home to vampires, were-shifters and faeries, some with telepathic abilities. There is a war of supremacy brewing with the faerie princes, related to Sookie. Of course, she is in the midst of the messes and murders and somehow brings the irony, humor and sensuality to the series. A fun read for supernatural fans.
I love all the Sookie Stackhouse. books. They are so campy and fun.
Sookie never gets a break or a chance to just enjoy solitude. I am very sad some of the characters may be leaving or was killed in this book. I am hopeful for future books though. I am excited with Sookie and Eric’s growing relationship. I enjoy the Sookie books but am ready for her to have a break and enjoy life and especially not get beat up so much.
The Sookie Stackhouse series is one of my all time favorite series. A must read for PNR fans.
I just didn’t like this book. For me, it was missing something that the other books in the series have. It wasn’t a good fun magical mystery. It read to me like Charlaine Harris was forced to write another Sookie book without a creative desire behind it. It started out great and with a lot of potential, and the ending was satisfying.
great if you like vampires
It was great.
I love the whole Sookie Stackhouse series.
I love this series. I own this series. What a super writer . You will be drawn in to this story of adventure, live, betrayal and fun.
