Lady Rebekah Maxwell is still in shock over the loss of her brother when her father tells her she must marry immediately.
The family he hopes to make a connection with is very powerful and well known as warriors. She is terrified.
Sir Leonidus de Wolfe hasn’t even begun to think of getting married, but agrees with his father that it must be done to keep peace on the border. He is a naughty but generally good man with a fearsome reputation.
An exciting and fun read with lovely characters. The story really keeps to the character of the series that it is linked to.
I have not read anything from this author before, but will definitely be looking for more of her books.
I loved it.
Imagine falling in love with the wrong man and then finding out he IS the right man:) This was a very sweet story and although I would have liked to have seen more action, it was still a lovely read.
Rebekah is told she needs to marry a De Wolfe son, the one they call “The Viper” aka Leonidus and she agrees to do so for the good of her clan. When she meets Leo, she mistakenly thinks he’s a De Wolfe guard and her heart is in turmoil when she starts to have feelings for him. Leo, in turn, decides to hide who he truly is because he’s always wanted someone to fall for him, not his title. How long he can keep his secret and how she’ll react when she does find out….you need to read the book:)
Well written, wonderful characters and story.
Scotland 1841 From the first page as Rebekah was running out the front of the keep to see her beloved brother’s body, I was captured by this story. She knew as she saw his body that everything was about to change…
With the death of her brother in battle, it was now her responsibility to marry to strengthen the clan. Her father reached out to the De Wolfe family who were right across the border on the English side. Leonidus, the one called The Viper for his quickness in battle, was to be her husband if they accepted.
Leo is sent with his brother and a contingency of men and when Rebekah thinks he is just a warrior come to fetch her, an instant attraction blooms between the two. He decides to keep his ruse of just being a knight and get to know her on their journey!
What is not to love about a De Wolfe, named Leonidus and a story by Jennifer Siddoway? Not one iota! This was such a heartwarming story and with the authors amazing descriptions and in depth characters, it seemed I could see the story unfolding. But I warn you that once you start to read you will not be able to stop until you get to the end!!
Lady Rebekah Maxwell did not know what to think of the idea to marry her to a DeWolfe. After her brother had been killed, her father thought it was the best way to protect her. The DeWolfe and the Maxwell’s had been in battle together and the knights liked each other. So, when a group of knights arrived at Castle Caerlaverock, Leonidus De Wolfe was enchanted by the lady and she mistook him as one of the guards, instead as her intended. Leo decided he would take advantage of this and get to know her without her realizing who he was. Will she come to know him as a man, or will she decide that the game he is playing will destroy them both.
