I love Charlaine Harris’s work. She make the supernatural believable, funny and interesting. What if!
Stupid, stupid, stupid
This book has great and original characters. Although it features a physic, a vampire, a weretiger, an assassin, two angels and a reformed survivalist each character was likable and essentially human. The plot wove each character seamlessly into a great story. I was disappointed in the way TV changed a great book with great characters into “Midnight Texas” which featured the monster of the week
Not quite to the end yet but love it! Have been watching the TV show & so I can picture all the characters quite well.
The book is nothing like the TV series, was disappointing that they weren’t more similarities in the story line. Book was much better.
I love Charlain Harris. Can’t wait for another book in this series
This is a fun book to read
Enjoyed this and the sequel, hoping for more
A really fun read. Great to see Charlaine with another series worthy of Sookie Stackhouse. Great characters and fun twists. Read it!
OK, reviewing one of her books is like critiquing a bar of gold. “Solid” – oh hell yeah. “Beautiful” – of course! “High luster” – yep. “Precious” – well yes; there is a very limited supply of both. Read the book.
Spooky and kooky with original charters, but nowhere near as engaging as Charlaine Harris’ southern vampire series.
As with all the Charlene Harris books I’ve read, you are immersed in her characters very quickly. Her storytelling is addictive, leaves you wanting the next book in the series.
Charlene spins an interesting tale. Sorry to see series end. Enjoyed very much.
Like all her books I enjoyed this one as well.
I’m of two minds about this trilogy, in some ways it reminds me of Heinlein trying to bring all his books, many of which were one offs, into the same universe. Harris is doing the same thing, by cobbling together secondary characters from her many series into these books. It works, mostly, creating an interesting read, and I’m happy to have more on these characters, but it has back flowing ramifications that are pretty dubious, as some of the original series clearly were from different universes ( with and without a supernatural presence) . That said, I have friends who did not have the background of the original series who loved these, and didn’t find them to be the occasionally disconcerting miss mash that I saw.
I bought the whole series…so far.
Really enjoyed it!
Another wonderful book by Charlaine Harris. Her citizens of Midnight, Texas are very entertaining. I love that she brought characters from Bon Temps to Midnight to visit.
Great read, On my way! Of my favorite authors.
Ms. Harris makes you care about her characters and their community. It is very easy to believe that her world’s exist.
