The Arizona Vengeance is killing it on the ice. But one player can’t seem to keep his eye on the puck—all thanks to the woman he just married to save her life. “Find your next hockey hero in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.”—New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis My name is Dax Monahan and hockey is my passion. And if you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass … you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass 24/7. I’ve never had a hard time focusing on my career, but when my past comes knocking, no amount of training can prepare me for what lies on the other side of the door.
Regan Miles was always like a sister to me. When a shared tragedy brings us face to face after several years, I’m shocked to see just how much she’s changed. Gone is the shy, awkward little girl that always used to chase me and her brother around. Instead, I’m faced with a gorgeous woman who makes it damn hard to concentrate on anything but her.
Turns out, she’s in trouble, and the only way out is to get married.
I surprise myself when I tell her to marry me. Order her, actually. And most shocking of all, she doesn’t even hesitate before saying yes.
So it’s settled. We’re getting hitched and she’s moving to Arizona with me. All platonic, of course.
The catch?
I never knew I’d fall so hard for my best friend’s little sister.

Great world buildling and characters you won’t want to let go!
“That is, I am fairly sure I have fallen helplessly in love with my best friend’s little sister. It sounds overly clichéd, yet incredibly right. I can only conclude that I have loved her in some form or fashion her entire life—”
It was so wonderful to see Dax fall, another #HockeyHottie manwhore down. Each book in the series builds my love for these characters. I’m already so gone for Tacker and can’t wait for his story, and then I met Dax’s sister in this one and she’s so amazing. I’ve got a man picked out for her as well. So much to look forward to as the Arizona Vengeance series continues.
Dax has always been a hard-working ‘player’ who takes his hockey career very seriously. But, family comes first and when his best friend’s little sister needs his help, he’s there for her. What he didn’t expect was how grown up she is. When did that happen? She’s beautiful! The only solution to her problem is to get married. Surely can keep his hands to himself and keep it platonic… or maybe not. I had so much fun hoping he would fail in his attempt to keep himself in the #FriendZone.
I really really really enjoyed this #Friends2Lovers tale. I found myself cheering for the couple and the team. The characters just jumped off the page and made me feel like I was right there at the games and team parties. And I also love how the author touches on some serious topics and tugs on our heartstrings so beautifully as she lets her readers into the lives of the players. I’m not sure my poor heart will survive Tacker’s story, but I can’t wait to dive in. The line forms here…
I loved Dax, and I’m anxiously waiting for Tacker. Sawyer’s books are auto-buys for me, and her Arizona Vengeance series is full of incredibly hot men and women you can relate to. You can never go wrong with a Sawyer book.
Another great read from Sawyer Bennet! She never lets me down!!
I’m sorry to say this is the first book I’ve read in this series but I’m sure it won’t be the last! And I really want to read the first three now.
This was a fantastic read. The subject matter was a little heavy but it was handled well and never became oppressive. And I loved the angle with this story! Kind of friends to lovers with a bit of taboo best friends sister thing thrown in. I love the way Dax steps right up when he learns what’s up with Regan. And I thought Regan’s acceptance of that help was taken in the manner it was given, with a lifetime of love!
All that being said, don’t get me wrong, the heat factor was through the roof! After all, this is a Sawyer Bennett book! That’s all y’all are getting from me, no spoilers here. If you want to read a great book, pick up Dax! Coming in July!!!
This series just keeps getting better and better and I believe that Dax may be my new favorite by this author. This book falls into a few different romance tropes – hockey romance, friends-to-lovers, and a marriage of convenience. After Regan’s brother is killed in a mugging, his best friend, Dax takes it upon himself to look after Regan. The two enter a marriage of convenience and neither one of them bargained on falling in love with each other.
Regan is a breath of fresh air. She is a strong heroine who has survived the loss of her parents and later her brother. She has a health problem that she is bravely battling and she is fierce, determined, and independent. I adored Dax with his protective streak towards Regan, but also with how sweet and caring he is towards her. He is also a great team player and tries to look out for his friends both on and off the ice. He is an all around good, honorable man. Dax’s and Regan’s relationship is relatively low on angst, but there is a palpable chemistry between them. I like how they had the history of growing up together and then seeing their relationship evolve from friends to lovers.
One of the things that I like about this author is that each of her books have unique storylines. Yes, this is a hockey sports romance, but she tackles different subject matter with each story and it is evident that she does judicious research. In Dax, she accurately brings to light that there are people out there who are ill and struggle to get access to the life saving treatments that they need.
Dax is the 4th book in the Arizona Vengeance series and it can be read as a standalone. There is a bit of a timeline overlap with Legend’s story, but you will not find yourself lost in this story. I really enjoyed getting to see some of the old favorites from the pervious books such as Bishop, Erik, and Legend as well as learn a bit more about Tacker. Overall, I really enjoyed this sports romance in that the story was well written, the characters are likable and well-developed, and the plot moves at a good pace.
Here we are with another hot hockey hunk down for the count. Love has taken Dax with a Vengeance.
Sorry, I had to put that is there.
Dax has gone to help his best friends sister with packing up his stuff. After Lance was killed by a mugger, his sister Regan doesn’t know what she is going to do without Lance. But Dax steps up to help. She has to tell Dax all of her problems and Dax rushes in to save the day.
Dax has a solution to her problem but she is not sure it will work. Marrying Dax might put her in more trouble if she falls for him. But she knows it is the only way she can get through all that is going on right now. So she is moving to Arizona with Dax.
Can Dax help Regan without losing his heart to her? Will they be able to stay married until she can handle things herself? Will anyone find out the truth and cause them problems?
This series seems to get better and better but I know the next one will break my heart. So bring on Tacker and let the tears begin. And then next after Tacker is the team owner Dominik Carlson, so read this one and any of the others if you missed them because you do not want to miss what is coming.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review and this is my honest opinion**
09/12/2020 “Dax” (nook) is a marvelous story of love, angst, courage and understanding. I’m proud of Ms. Bennett for writing about PNH, a disease of which I was not aware. Her portrayal of Regan’s acceptance and strength in light of having PNH, is compassionate. Dax is the perfect man to love and cherish Regan. A wonderful story with a HEA.
A marriage of convenience becomes so much more. Very believable…. hockey player helps long time sister of his best friend.
Great story! Enough information given about the health issues involved and hockey to help my understanding without overloading me with unnecessary information. An enjoyable read!
Love this series. This one with Dax and Reagan didn’t disappoint. I love how the characters are all weaved in and out of the book series.
One of my Favorite authors! I love her hockey books, always so knowledgeable and well written. Being a hockey fan I enjoy that background in the story along with romance of the story about the 2 main characters. This book has just enough steam to be a sexy read but it doesn’t dominate the story. You’ll love Dax and his teammates and be pulling for them to help Tacker get his head straight. Happy reading.

Dax.
We already heard some of his story in Legend’s story. This book takes place around the same time – at least some of it is overlapping.
In Legend we heard that Dax’s best buddy back in New York has died and that he went to help his sister with the funeral and other things.
The little sister of his best friend. The little girl who used to follow them everywhere …
She’s not that little girl anymore. And she desperately needs his help now. And the only way to help is to marry her.
Living together as a married couple without touching and falling for each other?
Let’s see how that goes …
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO REGAN & DAX??
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
Book 4! Yay!
We already heard some of this story in Legend’s book and I was really excited to find out what would happen with Dax and his buddy’s sister.
And it’s adorable. And really heartbreaking.
And it’s also really funny and full of sparks and tension and sexiness.
I adored Dax and Regan. That poor boy is so not ready for his happily ever after – he thinks he has a lot of single-guy-living still to enjoy. Too bad the woman of his dreams is now living with him. Plus she’s also his wife. It’s just adorable! I loved it. Great romance!
There’s also a bit of Tacker in this book – he is still one of my favorites of the bunch of players – we so need to get his story – but he still has a long road of healing ahead of him until he can fall in forever ever love! But he’ll tell us his story very soon! Can’t wait! And then it’s Dominik and Willow. Their story has already started too. YAY!!!
DAX was an adorable & sexy & heartbreaking hockey love story!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Dax – this one is MINE!!!
This series is so good!
When Dax’s best friend is killed, he finds out that his sister Regan has a medical condition that’s very expensive to treat. So, he does what he feels he should; he offers to marry her so she can have access to his health insurance. You know how this goes, they eventually fall in love.
Sawyer has written an amazing series, and Dax and Regan’s story is so interesting, and very hot.
Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose do an amazing job w/the narration.
Dax Monahan is a professional hockey player for the Arizona Vengeance. Regan Miles has known Dax forever and used to chase him and her brother around as a child. When her brother dies it brings Dax and Regan back together. What Dax didn’t know was that Regan suffers from a very expensive disease and that her brother had kept her on his insurance to help her. Now that he is gone, Dax steps up to the plate and suggests they get married to put her on his insurance plan. Of course there’s nothing to it, or is there?
Loved it!

STORY:
Another good book. Have not been disappointed yet. I liked this storyline and to know this disease has an expensive treatment is mind-blowing to me. Dax in the first 2 books was the man whore of the group. So I was looking forward to his story. I love the way he is with Regan and watching him go through all his different stages of emotions was good. Regan, love her. Been through a lot. She was so innocent in a lot of things.
CHEMISTRY:
Could have been steamer, but still enjoyed their physical chemistry.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
As usual, I love reading the team and the friendship of the guys. Getting annoyed with Tacker’s storyline, so I am glad his story is finally next. Willow, Dax’s sister, looking forward to her story with Dominick.
Overall, another good story and looking for to the next 2 books. Not sure if I will read anyone’s else’s story after that.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
