Every town has stories of its past, and Havenwood Falls is no different. And when the town’s residents include a variety of supernatural creatures, those historical tales often become Legends. This is but one . . . Witch hunter Marie Blackstone has always planned to follow in her mother’s ways, learning to control her power and live at peace with their coven neighbors. During her first foray into … foray into playing ambassador to the witches, she meets Judson Carter. He is everything she wants in a man—and everything her brother hates.
Dante Blackstone has craved power from a young age. After the death of his and Marie’s mother, his hatred for the witches grows into madness. For Dante, a witch’s mere presence triggers an undeniable urge to end the creature’s existence.
Seeking freedom from her brother’s vendetta and to find a new way to live, Marie joins Judson and other supernatural beings as they set out in search of a new home and a new way of life. The traveling band makes its way across rough, uncharted terrain, with no idea where they’re heading or how long it will take to find the perfect place.
Trouble is inevitable along the way, but for Marie, the worst comes in the form of Dante and his following of rogue witch hunters. They’re intent on finding his “lost” family to bring her back into the hunter’s way of life—even if that means eradicating any witch who gets in their way.

I enjoyed the first historical story I have read in the Legends of Havenwood Falls series. It gives you the feel of traveling in a wagon train and a small taste of what the lives of early settlers were like, while still being infused with the magic of supernaturals. I loved the historical links created between the families in the more modern books and seeing the history of formation of their various relationships. The storyline itself is full of betrayal, uncertainty, anguish, suspense and hope. It is a enjoyable look into how and why the town of Havenwood Falls was formed. I received an early copy from the publisher. This in no way influenced my review and all opinions expressed are solely my own.
Dawn of the Witch Hunters is the second book in the Legends of Havenwood Falls series. Each book in this series is a standalone title and can be read in any order. This novella takes place in the 1800s and this is a glimpse into the past of Havenwood Falls before it was created into the town we know and love. I just really enjoyed getting to read this story and see some of the founding families of Havenwood Falls before the town was founded. This story focuses on witch hunter Marie Blackstone and I just really enjoyed getting to read her story and see all the struggles she had to go through. I just loved getting to see her journey and search for a home it was just a beautiful story and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.
I loved everything about this. The Blackstone’s feud within themselves is brought to light, and the journey to what is now known as Havenwood Falls. We meet a few other founding families along the way. Love, love, love!
I received an arc of this book from the publisher. I love Morgan’s writing. The characters in this book are great and the story of how Havenwood falls comes to be is intriguing. I wish there would have been more details about different things, but everything you need for understanding is in this book. The really neat thing about this series is the way the authors work together to tell the stories of different people and tie them all together to give you a complete picture of what brings everything to be. I am positive the details I am looking for will be in other books because I want to know what brought the different people together with the witches, like the shifters and the vampires. Morgan Wylie did a great job capturing the spirit of the old west, and the happenings of the time and how they affected this group of characters
Maria Blackstone is a witch hunter, but her best friend is a witch. Her brother,Dante Blackstone is a very angry young man after the death of his mother and he has revenge on his mind. Dante is convinced that the witches let his mother die on purpose and refuses to even get to know them.
Maria gets to know them and controls her hunter instincts. Things go wrong in a horrible way and the Coven ends up traveling to a new home with hopes that the Coven and others can live in peace together. Dante tracks and hunts them down, until things come to a head in a heated battle.
I loved reading this book, and learning more about not only the Blackstone family but also the other founding members of the Havenwood Falls community!!
