***A note from the author: I am so happy to be able to share Daughter of Time with you. I created Footsteps in Time and Prince of Time first, and only wrote Daughter of Time after so many readers wanted to know how the story began. Meg’s journey is continued in Footsteps in Time and Winds of Time. Happy reading!
“Sarah Woodbury is my new favorite author. Daughter of Time reminds me of Outlander and 1632, with a fresh twist. I read all the books in the After Cilmeri series in four days! Long after I finished the last book, the stories and characters stayed in my mind, and I kept wishing I could return the world Sarah so skillfully created. I can’t wait for the next book and the next …” — Debra Holland, New York Times bestselling author of the Montana Sky Series.

An entertaining, sweeping-saga sort of novel, first of a series, with much in common with the Outlander books. A major difference between the two, one that I really enjoy, is that the heroine time traveler can and does change things when she gets to the past. At least that is how it seems at the end of book one of the series–and it seems …
I decided to read this book because my grandson had to read it for school. I thought it was an odd choice until he explained that his history teacher was trying to help them understand how history can change with new information.
clearly written to disappear some of the stranger aspects of the scot time travel serial, which, in fact, it did. unfortunately, the true welsh political scene was a tangled nightmare which left me indifferent to the outcome, and finding the prince of Wales an unlikely character. this is no duckberg.
Love all of this series. I am almost finished the last book. I have done nothing but read all 16 books. They are all equally good telling a great story.
Awesome story! Captivating and humorous.
Wanted to read the next book in the series, it is that good. If you liked Outlander, you may love this more. Characters are the best and well developed as is the unexpected story line.
I know very little about the history of Wales, though I have visited the country. This book was very informative regarding the climate and medieval history.
Too many characters with like sounding names. I quit, I couldn’t keep up.
While the actual method of time-travel was deliberately ambiguous, the world-building was superb! 🙂 A really excellent story!
Who doesn’t like a good time-travel story?! Well, I do for one. This book was really engrossing and I soon lost myself amongst the pages of this seemingly magical tale.
This is a series that is certainly worthy of your attention and I can’t wait to read Book 2!
I guess I was hoping for Outlander in an earlier era. Just couldn’t get through it.
I enjoyed learning about other believes and values.
Thirteenth Century Wales history is well researched in this well written book. The time travel aspect drew me to Sara Woodbury’s “reset” of an older novel in her series. Passing through a time portal with a child was unusual to the genre, but it worked. Aside from the difficult Welsh names and places, I missed more of the “feel of the past,” in …
Daughter of Time (After Cilmeri #0.05) by Sarah Woodbury was an interesting travel through time novel. The author obviously has researched the life and battles of Llywellyn ap Gruffydd Prince of Wales, medieval times and the Welsh language. Characters seemed underdeveloped, romance was secondary to all the battles and political intrigue which …
I loved this book! It captivated my imagination and transported me to another time and culture with such detail that I was there with the memorable characters. I keep reliving the story so I can’t wait for the next one.
I actually read the first in this series for a change! I do love Time Travel-If you do also you will enjoy reading this book and wanting to read the rest of the series just as I do!
Meg’s husband was an abuser so when he was killed in an auto accident-she was sad but–She had a little daughter–they went to live with her Mom who told her tales of …
This was a wonderful book.
Meg has her two-year-old daughter in the car when the car hits black ice and the two of them are catapulted back in time to the thirteenth century. Meg and Anna are rescued by Prince Llewelyn and his seneschal Goronwy just before her car sank into the fen. Quite the opening chapter! The plot was predictable in some ways: adjustment to ancient …
Everybody wants to Diane Galbaldon. Not interested in reading the series.
I listened to this book. It was okay. With another credit, I may give the second one in the series a listen.
