Poppy is nothing special. She was making ends meet and trying to enjoy life. But a strange necklace caught her eye at the thrift store. Now, three gorgeous men have stumbled into her life, and she’s torn between being terrified and excited. That is until they tell her she is the future queen of the Underworld. Not only that, but she needs to bond with her hellhounds, the three heads of Cerberus, … heads of Cerberus, and protect the Underworld from a goddess who wants it for herself. Forced to face unnatural enemies, and too-sexy-for-their-own-good men, Poppy must choose: keep the life she’s always had or take her rightful place as queen.
If she survives.

Great start to a series. Poppy meets hell hounds, that tell her she is a candidate for Queen of the Underworld, along with being a descendant of Persephone and Hades.. Great characters so far, can’t wait to see what happens when they go to look for the judges.
What fantastic quick read. It has a lot of action, drama, suspense and some lovely hot scenes. It is well written and the characters are stunningly developed. You can feel their personalities throughout the story. It has you on the edge of your seat with anticipation for what is going to happen. It is a stunning must read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This is the first of three books in the series, so far. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was reeled into this story. Normally it takes a while for my feet to sink in; but this really grabs you from the beginning!!
Poppy is just going thru the motions of life, until she meets three men who will soon change her life. She learns she is next in line to be crowned queen of the Underworld. However, she must bond with her men (aka hellhounds) and stay alive long enough to fulfill her destiny.
Although I normally shy away from ‘reverse harems’ this one may just be the exception to the rule. Although it was hot and sexy, it was not overly done as you would assume.
Enjoyed this one and looking forward to learning what the next book in the series has in store.
Come On Down…..
Can you imagine one day you are serving drinks to a bunch of old horn dogs and the next thing you know you are being told you are the queen of hell by 3 gorgeous hunks? Well that’s exactly what happened to Poppy. And that’s not all, she has to bond with them all, well not all cause one of them is kind of a grouch, oh did I forget to mention she gets a fourth one too.
To top it all off they are all Hellhounds, in order to better protect her from what is to come before they get to the underworld so she can claim her throne, she has to do the dirty, or not so dirty deed with them. So now that she has accepted her horrible, or not, lot in life, begins her trials and tribulation in order to get down there…I should get so lucky!
This is going to be quite the journey with Poppy, Nolan (Grouchy) Emmett, Knox and Nolan and I can’t wait!
Ms. Scott is a new author to me and I’m so glad I found her! I just loved this series! I read Book 1 and 2 back-to-back and impatiently waited for Book 3 to be released.
Her writing style draws you in, so you feel like you are living the story right along with Poppy and her guys.
The story was a new twist on Cerberus, the hellhound with 3 heads.
This was an easy and sexy read, the characters are great. I really enjoyed the storyline, very original, and I look forward to seeing what happens next for Poppy and her guys. The sexual tension between two of her hounds is so thick you could cut it with a knife, I can’t wait for that the implode in all the best ways! Also Rox, I really liked her and feel like there is more to her than appears and like it will be a large revelation when it finally is revealed.

This book was amazing from the start! I seriously couldnt put it down! I fell asleep with kindle in hand and woke up in the morning ready to start reading again! Poppy is amazing and her men are absolutely swoon-worthy I honestly love how love focused it was! I know that there’ll have to be conflict but I am always seeking more love than conflict! Now on to the second one!!!
An okay read.
The idea of this book is a solid 5 stars but, to me, it just didn’t reach it’s full potential.
Poppy was too accepting, too naive, too wishy-washy. I couldn’t stand behind her, and half the time I wasn’t sure I even liked her.
“Why’d you keep reading then?”
I wanted to love this story! It has everything I love in a good paranormal romance it just did not deliver. There’s not enough showing, I don’t feel the connection between Poppy and her men, the steamy scenes were okay, I was told the “connection” was there but, I didn’t experience it.
I will read the next book but, only because I hope the story will get better and I will love it and the characters.
I love Poppy the most! She is definitely one of the most reasonable heroines in the reverse harem community. And by reasonable, I meant, she took into consideration those “pieces of evidence” about her true heritage and about those of the heroes. She hasn’t acted in ignorance, like some of those ‘strong & badass’ heroines I’ve known, and hasn’t directly endangered any of the characters by being stubborn.
In short, she isn’t a PITA.
She’s also able to establish her relationship with each of the heroes. I like them all but there’s one I might like less. And he’s kind of a hypocrite when he told Poppy to stop being in denial and pick whether she’s going to accept the throne in the underworld or continue being mundane and human. All the meanwhile, he’s the one being in denial; he can’t decide whether to move on from the previous queen or to treat Poppy as to what she deserved. Projecting much.
Well, anyway, he admitted to being a jerk so that’s a start. Hopefully he decides to stop being difficult. Just kidding. Kind of.
I’m only giving four stars because as much as I have enjoyed it overall, I’m kind of being impatient to finally meeting the underworld and being impatient for the lack of development. Buuut yeah, I do understand it’s all due to the focus in the buildup of the relationships/bonds.
{I received this book free as an Advanced reader copy}
I have read several other Helen Scott books and though this was still steeped in Greek Mythology it was refreshing and different.
Poppy is just a regular 20-someth in ng finding her way. While shopping a a Thrift Store she buys a necklace and All Hell breaks loose … quite literally!
It is a wild ride with plenty of sizzle … reverse harem fans will live it! Give it a try!
I think this is the first reverse harem that I have read and all I can say is WOW ! I love reading books where the woman is a strong and independent one who does not take crap and is not the type to run or faint with changes . This book will grab you from the start and will keep you reading and wanting more from this amazing author Helen Scott ! This is so well written and strongly recommended to all !!
