Dating the Undead puts a new twist on the vampire-human romance trope. I mean who would think of vampires using an online dating service? Definitely not me, but it works so well in the story. Logan and Silver are completely adorable and full of witty banter. I devoured this book in just a few hours and it had me laughing almost the entire time. Even though it is the first book in a series, it can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The problems with dating a vampire!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration:

Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The heroine: Silver – her Mom disappeared a few years ago which affected her greatly. Silver is not interested in long term relationships and lives for now. She is in her early twenties and works in a jewelry store which she hates.
The Hero(es): Logan – a vampire created hundreds of years ago by an ancient vampire named Anastasia who recruited murderers and thieves that would be blood bonded to her so she could use them as servants. Years ago another ancient helped Logan break the blood bond to Anastasia, and now he is bonded that vampire. Logan now works for him.
The Story: Silver finds her date kissing another girl on New Year’s eve and gets kicked out of the party for kicking him in the family jewels. She then meets Logan, a handsome vampire who gives her a kiss like she never experienced before, then disappearing into the night.
Silver decides to check out an online dating service called V date where she can get hooked up with any number of handsome vampires. Logan is asked by his boss to check out V date, which is apparently a site that the police are using to get information on the vampire race. He is tasked with finding the latest V date user that the police plan on using as an informant. He is supposed to glamour her and make her believe she never wants to date another vampire.
Logan finds out the girl he is supposed to glamour is Silver, the same girl he kissed on New Year’s eve and can’t seem to forget. He doesn’t want to glamour her because he wants to date her. Though not doing what his boss told him to do is a betrayal and that could be punishable by death.
I liked the new take on vampire lore and the story. I love paranormal stories that take place in the normal world and when one of the main characters is a regular person who gets caught up in the supernatural world. The dual POV and male/female narration were great. Logan had an Irish accent while Silver had an English one. It was a nice change of pace.
I loved this book so much. I remember seeing this cover in a Barnes and Noble several months back and wanted to get it then but didn’t have time to get it that day and I promised myself I’d remember the name but of course I didn’t and by some miracle it popped up on my news feed and Ive never been so happy before. I loved Logan so much he was charismatic yet sweet and Silver was awesome she was a take no crap heroine but was a sweetie at heart. The storyline was different from other vampire books I’ve read and had lots of twists and turns, ups and downs. I’ve already downloaded the rest of the series because I want to know what happens to the other characters
A new twist to vampire fantasy!
I really enjoyed the characters in the book. They were funny and realistic and the sex scenes were steamy. I am looking forward to the next installment coming out in a few days.
I enjoyed this vampire book and loved the snarky dialogue. It was an interesting story and worth the read because the hero was such a romantic guy. Unfortunately I gave 4 stars because I found some of the dialogue in some of the romantic scenes to be crude…not romantic. There are so many descriptive words in the English language that could be used.
Good book. Loved the story line. Although the ending was a little bit fairytale, but good read nonetheless.
Looking for the next in the series. Well written. Loved it
Wimpy vampire and annoying girl.
Anyone who enjoys a good lighthearted vampire story should check out this book. The writing is fresh and funny. The pace is fast enough to keep your interest and the characters are witty and warm enough that cheering for them doesn’t feel absurd. As an added bonus, the romance is steamy but doesn’t overwhelm the story. I would highly recommend this book to paranormal romance fans and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
A romp in the supernatural world!
