Who doesn’t love a single dad?
I loved this book so much! Being a fan myself of Friends and How I Met Your Mother, I might be biased to say, but this book was so adorable and sweet and funny.
Miles is a sexy single dad that is looking out for love and wont stop at nothing to find it (you know? like our beloved Ted Mosby). So much so that he ends up making probably the biggest mistake of his life, costing him his peace, his image and his reputation for things he was not to blame.
His only silver line is his family and his adorable Lulu, with all her two-year-old sweetness and potty mouth.
Charlote has learned from a young age that love will only make you weak and that you can’t count or rely on anyone but yourself. So her job is all she lives for, and she doesn’t see that changing anytime soon.
But sometimes love speaks louder and creates ways, and all you need to do is grab on them and work together. Even if love presents you with an ice cream hater and shows up in teared-up-in-the-butt leggings.
And when love gives you a smile, it also comes with vulnerability, fears, trust when everyone says you’re not supposed to trust. It’s forgiviness for repeating mistakes, it’s knowing that someone is worth fighting for.
This book was amazing. The characters were all incredible and each one of them had a little piece of my heart. I laughed, I swooned, I cheered, I got warmed up, I got hope, I got happy.
What a great book!
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
I had never read this author before and in fact had never heard of her but this book sounded intriguing and so I was excited to check it out.
Charlie and Miles have two very different views of love. VERY. Miles grew up with siblings and saw how love made his parents strong at facing the things life threw at them.
Charlie grew up watching her mother cry about man after man and saw heartbreak and she never wants to fall in love and believes love makes you very weak.
The two meet in a very cute meet at the supermarket over their love and hate of ice cream. However just like Cinderella Charlie takes off before Miles can get her number.
And so he scours Facebook looking for Charlotte in Chicago. A pussycat ends up bringing the two together again and that’s when things move faster for them.
But Miles has a horrible rep because of this dating show he was on and a majority of the story is how he and Charlie deal with that and her fear of love.
There is one scene in the book that was amazing. Its where Miles tells her “He could love her but love is a risk and sometimes you just have to take the risk.” It was probably the best scene I have read in years and it really made me fall head over heels in love with this story.
This story also features an adorable 2 year old little girl who likes to swear a lot and causes lots of fun moments in the story.
This was another solid offering from this author! Miles is a single father and he is looking for his forever girl. He thinks that he will be able to find it on a reality show. He comes off looking like a complete jerk in front of America. Charlotte is a lawyer who doesn’t believe in love. They meet under some hysterical circumstances and the sparks fly. Lulu, Miles’ daughter, is a very precocious little girl and with the rest of his family this book is well worth reading!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
A Sweet Single Dad Romance
This single dad romance will leave you smiling. Who can resist a HOT doctor and his adorably smart-mouthed little girl?
Miles was a romantic. He was searching for his forever girl. He thought that ship had sailed after a disastrous stint on a reality show that left him looking like a total jerk. But one night in the ice cream aisle at the grocery store changes that.
Charlotte is a corporate lawyer. Her mission in life is to work hard and make partner. She has no time for dating or relationships. A family has never been a part of her plan. And then she meets Miles…
Plans change. Meeting Miles is that moment in her life that changes her dream for the future.
This story gives you some of the drama to get to the HEA, but it’s worth it. You can’t help but fall in love with sweet and sexy Miles and sassy Lulu and her filthy little mouth. And if you just can’t resist a single dad, then Miles will be stealing your heart. The man’s love for his kid will make you swoon. A fun read that delivers you a man willing to put it all on the line to get his storybook romance with a woman that had no idea she’d find everything she needed in the ice cream aisle.
I’m feeling all the feels, swooning like a lunatic and my heart is full. What a brilliant read!!
Guys believe me when I say Dating the DILF is all kinds of cheeky, lighthearted, funny and ridiculously naughty with all the laugh out loud moments that literally had me in stitches.
It also had a myriad of heartfelt moments, warmth and emotion that touched my heart completely.
It was so easy to fall for both Miles and Charlotte in this beautifully written read, and I did, I fell, hard. Also falling for Gray and Adelaide, that was easy . These two were ridiculously hilarious and downright crazy in their own right and an absolute delight that I just couldn’t get enough of either of them.
But……
There was one little girl that simply took my breath away, a little girl who had me laughing from beginning to end, a little girl who stole my heart….Lulu. What an absolute sweetheart.
Amali Rose captured me completely with not only her ability to bring wit, beauty and charm to a story, but also because of the emotional pull that came with it. I just loved all things DILF!!
5 stars
I would gladly watch Miles and Charlotte anytime any day. This story is filled with romance, laughter and even a bit of heartache from time to time. Miles shows us that there is so much more then meets the eye especially when it comes to reality tv. This man is undoubtedly the DILF that will be on everyone’s list. Seeing the interaction with Lulu is priceless and this little lady will have you in stitches with the things that come out of her mouth. Charlotte is hesitant to put herself out there but as she does we are right along side her the entire time. This was such an enjoyable. wonderfully written story that will have you hooked from the beginning and a guaranteed HEA. I’m hoping to see more of Addy and Grayson in the future and see if anything develops between these two.
Fun and Intense Yet Slightly Lacking. This book was a really fun, really quick read. Truly hilarious through most of the book, a handful of super steamy scenes – remarkable considering the overall length of the book – and some genuine drama… kinda. It is actually in the drama where the book is lacking, as every time some major conflict comes along, Rose just brushes it away within a paragraph or two with only about that many exceptions. While I generally go with the flow, this book had significant enough jumps that it was difficult to maintain that attitude while reading this particular book – specifically due to these jumps. It almost felt as though the author felt she couldn’t maintain the fun nature of the book while exploring these legitimate conflicts – or she was trying to keep the page count down arbitrarily for some reason. Still, a strong effort that was genuinely enjoyable and absolutely recommended. It simply could have been more.
Sweet single dad romance with all the elements I love. Myles has a precocious, potty mouth, three year old daughter, Lulu. OMG she stole the show. I laugh thinking about it. Plan to feel a little annoyed by how Myles continues to deal with the fallout of being taken advantage of in a dating reality show. As the whole story is revealed, the injustice ticks me off.
Charlotte is an overworked lawyer dealing with some challenging family issues. She is striving to be successful. I see her questioning what the definition of that is. Ugh I will be surprised if you don’t want to harm someone as this story progresses. Her mom is a piece of work. See the steam pouring out my ears.
It is hilarious when Charlotte (aka Charlie) meets Myles. I definitely cringed in embarrassment for her.
Angst between our couple happens due to said previous issues. This story is all about the roller coaster ride of emotions they take us on as they navigate through the messiness of their worlds. Love the steamy moments and the sweet interactions with Lulu.
This was a good read and 4 star worthy. Happy Reading Everyone!
4 1/2 stars
Right from the very first page I was hooked! This story is absorbing and such a wonderful escape into book land. I found it hard to put it down.
I found myself laughing out loud with the incredibly funny scenes and comments in the story, the reason for the extra half a star. The expressions Addy comes out with are hilarious and so are Lulu’s, she’s a little darling who captures your heart straight away.
Lead characters Charlotte or Charlie Reed and Miles Kent are absolutely perfect for each other. Their ability to connect in all ways is warming to red hot, IYKWIM! As the story progresses we can see growth in both characters and it’s a wonderful journey.
This book is fast paced and easy to read because the storyline is solid and very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed each moment.
This single dad romance is a fun, sweet read. It has a unique storyline and held my interest for the most part. If you enjoy lighthearted books with lots of laughter, this is the book for you!
Miles is romantic and such a good dad. I admire his relationship with his daughter Lulu; she is a bit of a handful! It’s not perfect, but parenting never is. Lulu is determined and ambitious. I love her interactions with Miles; they have chemistry in spades.
Dating the DILF is a standalone book by Amali Rose. It is my first book by this author, and I enjoyed her style of writing. The book did lose my interest a couple of times, but overall it was a solid read.
4.5 stars
Despite some angst and a stint in the world’s worst reality show, Dating the DILF is ridiculously adorable.
Miles is one of the good ones, although you wouldn’t know it from the media attention. Longing for a fairy tale love like the one his parents shared, Miles decides to risk it all and make an ill-fated appearance in a “bachelor”-esque show and regrets it instantly. When the show finally ends, he wants nothing more than to just get on with his life but the wolves are at the door. He knows he should stay away but there’s a beautiful girl on the other side that he just had to get to!
Charlie is a workaholic lawyer on the partner track whose more than a little wary of dating. Not only does she simply lack the time for it, she learned from an early age than men, or most anyone, weren’t worth the effort. She’s relied on herself ever since. But after meeting the handsome veterinarian, she starts to doubt her “go it alone” plan.
Funny and heartfelt, there’s much to like about Dating the DILF. The foul mouthed three year old stole the show but the rowdy men and Addy were great supporting roles. Enjoyed it immensely!
AnnMarie – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
This story was sweet, romantic, and hilariously funny. A single dad living in the dark shadow of a Reality TV Show debacle crosses paths with a growling ice cream lover. Charlotte and Miles unusual meeting is every girl’s living nightmare. It was raw and real with so many laugh out loud moments throughout. Lulu, the strange little cussing human, was completely endearing and made the story even better. You might even say Lulu stole the show. I highly recommend this entertaining 5 star read!
This was a really cute single dad romance. I never can pass those up. It was well written and Lulu stole the show!
Amali Rose has become a new favorite author of mine. Single dads are one of my go-to tropes and I couldn’t put this one down. The way she intertwines the humor and the swoon-worthy moments is spot on. Miles is sweet and sexy and who wouldn’t adore a man that loves animals and kids. I wish my pup had a vet that looked and acted like him. Oh and Lulu made me laugh out loud! She is such a hilarious little girl and I couldn’t wait to hear what would come out of her mouth next! Charlie is a beautiful lawyer who need to live a lot and Miles helps her do that and more. You need to read this book for Lulu, ice cream, the hockey game and hotel room windows alone. By the way I love my Blackhawks and still want Lulu to be my daughter! I feel like if I had a daughter, she would be a treasure like Lulu and I would be in big trouble as she got older. She is so sweet though and the relationship she forms with Charlie is awesome. Dating the DILF is sweet, laugh out loud funny, sexy and so heartwarming that you won’t want this story to end!

Wow, I loved this book. I laughed at the antics of Lulu, Miles and Charlotte.
I loved Charlotte and Miles together, they could be themselves with each other.
I couldn’t help but laugh and smile at this books.
I highly recommend this book.
This is one book you won’t be able to put down! It’s sweet, funny, romantic… and will capture your attention from the very first page!
Miles and Charlie will both have you wanting more… and don’t even get me started on Lulu, this little girl stole the show on multiple occasions.
All in all this book has it all and I highly recommend it to any romance lover! I am also intrigued by a couple other characters, Addy and Grayson… I hope we hear more about them in the future!
Dating the DILF, my first read from author Amali Rose. An adult romance. First things first, I like this book. December seemed to be my month for new authors, January & February & then March continued the trend, and now April. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it.
