I saw the blurb for Dating Roulette and was intrigued; I just had to read more! I was not disappointed. The writing drew me in quickly and definitely lived up to my expectations.
Dating Roulette is a friends to lovers romance with a slow, steady build up. So much of this story reminded me of how my husband and I started dating and fell in love after being friends for years. Needless to say, the story of Tristan and Bexley melted my heart.
Tristan reminded me so much of my husband: sweet, patient, and romantic. I liked him immediately. I could definitely relate to Bexley’s need for order and guidelines, even if she was a bit obsessive and stubborn at times. I liked how Tristan sort of used her dating rules against her. They were clearly made for each other, and their chemistry was off the charts! Toward the end of the book, I thought I might have to smack their heads together; they were being so frustrating!
This was my first book by D. Kelly. I truly enjoyed every page and would love to read more from this author.
I was hooked from the first sentence. Tristan and Bexley have been friends for years when Tristan realizes he wants to date his friend. But can he win at Dating Roulette? There were many ups and downs. Tristan and Bexley have great chemistry and there is a lot of sexual tension between them. I also loved their friends, Adam and Rita. The story flowed well, though I feel like it wrapped up a bit quickly. Overall, this was a very enjoyable and satisfying read.
This is a wickedly awesome, beautifully written rom com that seem to magically drew you into the story. A story where Tristan and Bexley play a dangerous round of dating roulette agreeing to seven dates. Tristan and Bexley have been friends since high school. They are not just friends but Best Friends they have 10 years of friendship and have been roommates for the last five years.
Tristan has watched Bexley date over the years and he is attuned to her madness as she puts each of her suitors through a series of seven dates if they meet her criteria they will get seven dates if not she kicks them to the curb. Tristin is in love with Bexley but hasn’t been able to tell her so he suggest he take her on seven dates which he does. This is where these two BFF’s find their friendship tested to the limits as they learn to share their wants, laugh, trust, share family, friends, face jealousy and love. Definitely Tristan will capture your heart and Bexley will become your best friend. Dee has definitely hit this one out of the park, definitely a new favorite for me. Bravo D. Kelly a true five star plus can’t put down read…
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Bexley: Seven Dates. Seven chances to win my heart. It’s not hard. Don’t put ketchup on you eggs. Don’t wear tasseled loafters. For the love of all that’s Holy, don’t ogle the waitress. See? Simple…..You no one can get it right.
Tristan: Darting Roulette. It’s Bexley’s game. Correction- it’s her life. A constant rotation of dates. You might get one; you might get seven. No one has ever gotten eight. There’s only one rule – Don’t commit a dating sin. I”ve watched for years and bided my time. Now it’s my turn to play. And I play to win.
This book will suck you in from the first words and your not going to be able to put it down until you are finished. This is the story of Tristan and Bexley who have been friends for ten years. She has this habit of calling her dating like the Dating Roulette. The rule is simple. The guy has to make it to seven dates before he can become her forever. What she doesn’t know is that Tristan has had it bad for her for the ten years they have known each other. He has sat back , bided his time and watched her play her little Dating Roulette game. Now he wants his turn? Will he get it? You have to read it to find out. This book was funny and emotional and just had me unable to put it down. I loved Tristan and Bexley. I laughed and cried and rooted for them. This book is beyond entertaining and is one that I personally do not think you should miss.
4.5 STARS!!!
This was such a sweet and steamy friends to lovers romance story. Bexley and Tristan have the perfect friendship and when Tristan decides he wants more, things get even more interesting. He must past Bex’s seven date rule but are they prepared for what comes along when dating your best friend. There’s ex’s, jealousy, insecurities and always new people entering your life. Looks can be decieving but what happens when the truth is revealed. Their friendship and love will be put to the test. I enjoyed this story a lot, even with all of the dry humping. LOL! I look forward to reading more books from this author and will definitely be recommending this one to my book loving family and friends.
I loved the different take on dating that the author used for Bexley. Bexley has such funny ideas on what makes a guy unacceptable that I had to laugh at times. I loved Tristan and his patience. I don’t think I could have been as patient as him. I think they both subconsciously knew they each had feelings for the other, but was afraid to admit it. Their friendship was just so comfortable. There are a few heartbreaking scenes that brought tears to my eyes. But, for me the sign of a good book is how it affects me emotionally which this did in so many ways. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
4.5*
This was a funny, sweet, heartwarming and sexy best friends to lovers romance. I loved Tristan and Bexley’s story from beginning to end. There’s instant chemistry between these two when they first meet in high school but because of bro code they became really good friends turn best friends. After college they become roommates. After watching Bexley go on dates that don’t make it past the third, he decides to step up and get out of the friends zone. This book left me swooning hard for Tristan.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
I know anything I read by D. Kelly is not going to disappoint me as a reader. In this story, best friends who are also roommates decide to try dating a figure out things were there that they never acknowledged. Very hot and sexy, also very amusing. They are truly best friends that know each other and recognize all the good and bad in each other, even when the hurt comes and it takes a bit to remember. So many feels in this one, especially anticipation!
Yes, yes, yes…I need a Tristan, I’m in love!
Bexley, I love you girl but your dating game is crazy! Seriously though, this book is AMAZING! I loved it from the beginning and didn’t want it to end! It’s so realistic, sweet, cute and oh all the sexy steamy heat!
Bexley is down to earth sweet girl, but she has been on so many dates that never turn into relationships. She has so many high standards, no man can live up to her expectations. Sadly, what she’s been looking for may have been right in front of her the whole time! A drunken night makes her come to her senses. Despite her high expectations, you’ll fall for her character, she’s too sweet and lovable not too (even if you want to slap her and say “wake up chic!” a few times).
Tristan is sweet, hot, sexy, dirty and filled with perfection! He is what perfect boyfriends are made of. He will truley melt the pages away as he tries to get his girl to see they are meant to be. Tristan is amazeballs as he goes on his mission that no man has ever been able to succeed and he’ll leave you panting as he tries.
I loved this book so hard! This book was perfect and a very much need to read! The dating game has never seen anything like the rules laid out in this story. I absolutely loved everything about this book!
Dating Roulette is a best friends to lovers story. I enjoyed the story, from start to finish. I liked the characters, best friends Brexley and Tristan were so good together, they had everything going for them, chemistry, banter, same likes, and friends. Secondary characters were good, and comical too. This author is becoming one of my one click authors, I know I’m going to get a great story, with characters I will like.
Dating Roulette is a stand-alone contemporary romance by D. Kelly. She has written a fun perspective of the whole best friends to lovers scenario. Don’t roll your eyes….I know that the “best friends to lovers” thing has been done many times before but D. Kelly’s storyline is different from others so don’t judge before you read this. It is HOT outside so, grab a cool beverage and let’s chat about D. Kelly’s Dating Roulette.
Tristan has been waiting on the sidelines for 10 years. Waiting, watching, learning…loving. Bexley, his best friend since high school, has dating rules. No man has ever made it past seven dates leaving Bexley in a constant rotation of men. Tristan has finally had enough and decides to man up and throw his hat in the game but it is not a game for Tristian. Tristan knows the game. He’s memorized the steps and knows what not to do. He’s determined to make it to date eight but more importantly, he’s determined to end up with a lifetime of dates.
Bexley is not looking to just date…she’s looking for husband material and she’s able to determine sooner than most when a man is not going to be able to give her that timeless love that her parents have. She has no use for casual dating unless she sees a future. There is also one huge caviat…her future husband has to accept her friendship with Tristian or he’s out like all of the others. Tristian is her best friend but there are times when she has fantasized about him being more especially when he uses that commanding tone of voice. That voice is hot and turns her on.
D. Kelly has created a beautifully deep character in Tristain. His past breaks my heart (don’t worry, no spoilers here) but his love for Bexley is something beautiful. I could not put this book down and found myself reading long into the night…well morning and think that this is one that should be on everyone’s summer reading list. My rating of D. Kelly’s Dating Roulette is 4.5 out of 5 propellers.
I can’t even with this book. Talk about swooning from start to finish. These two made me smile so much my face was starting to hurt.
This story was absolutely amazing. From beginning to end you could feel how much they love and care for each other. Every date they had was better than the last. This story pulled me in and didn’tn let go right to the end. It was funny, emotional, hot and steamy but above all it was full of two people who would give up everything to be together.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. It’s a perfect “get away” from the summer heat.

I just finished reading my ARC of Dating Roulette and I seriously cannot wipe this goofy smile off my face. Tristan and Bexley are both so likable by themselves but what made the story even more speical is who they became when they were together- sweet, sexy and adorable!
Dee Kelly hooked me as a forever fan with her Illusion Series, but now, with no rockstars in sight, she’s done it again. She knows how to create characters that you can’t help but fall in love with the further into the story you go. We begin in the past with the back story of two teens, Tristan and Bexley as she storms into his life, telling his best friend, Adam that they are over for good and then claims Tristan as her very own new best friend.
This one moment in time becomes a turning point in many ways and the best thing that could’ve happened to Bexley and Tristan. Their bond grows, evolves and becomes unbreakable as they share the good, the bad and all the in betweens for the next 10 years of their lives and that special, once in a lifetime friendship that is everything to them. Deciding to live together after they graduated from college seemed like a no-brainer and they wouldn’t have it any other way. These best friends are like two halves of one whole, together forever, through thick and thin.
During these years, Bexley has tried but never quite found the man of her dreams, but she’s thought alot about how to test her dates while determining if they are ‘the ONE’. She has a system and Tristan has been observing her ‘dating roulette’, as he calls it, from the sidelines for years. Bexley gives her dates 7 tries to get it right but usually after the first few, a bad habit or weird quirk will be too much for her and that’s that, the end…no looking back! Tristan has his fair share of dates, but is secretly glad when Bex doesn’t find her dream man. What would he do if she does? The realization guts him-what if he’s supposed be the ‘one’???
Then, one special night brings big changes, a long time coming, where sexy little slips of their feelings come pouring out. Hidden truths long buried because what would happen when best friends who know each other inside and out take a big chance on their own dating roulette?
Well, let me tell you, alot can happen and does! It’s soooo sweet, perfect, romantic as hell, intimate and the swoon worthy anticipation of what might happen is everything you could want in a friends to more romance. Until it isn’t when something comes between them that threatens everything.
This is one gem of a story…a big, sparkly diamond set in platinum. Dee Kelly just nails this one down!!! You can’t help but love Tristan and Bexley, their inner thoughts about each other killed me in such an emotional way, I may have shed a few tears here and there. Best friends Adam and Rita added so much fun to their story and were really supportive when they needed to be. I loved everything about Dating Roulette and can only hope that there might be more books in this ‘world’ just so I can hang out a little longer with Dee’s amazing characters. This one is a recommend for me.
I was happy to receive an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Such a sweet, romantic friendship livers book! I absolutely devoured this book. Tristan & Bexley are the sweetest pair of best friends ever. What a wonderful book about friendships & dating.
Adorable, funny, charming and sexy are just a few ways to describe D. Kelly’s latest book Dating Roulette. A full-length novel that flows smoothly along and is wonderfully told. This story is common about best friends finding love in each other’s arms but is told in such a unique and delightful way that I just couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. 5-stars for Dating Roulette by D. Kelly.
Bexley and Tristen became best friends in the tenth grade and have been together ever since. After sharing an apartment for the past five years Tristen can’t help but be concerned about Bexley and her dating. She never goes out with a guy more than seven times and some of her reasons for dumping them are ridiculous. Tristen makes Bexley promise the next guy she dates she will go on all seven dates no matter what. The thing Bexley doesn’t know is that Tristen is the guy that is going to ask her out. Tristen and Bexley promise that even if they don’t make it as a couple, they can always save their friendship over chocolate chip pancakes. Tristen is determined to get Bexley to stop playing the Dating Roulette game and keep from getting his heartbroken.
WOW!! What a mindblowingly beautiful, heartwarming story!
Tristan and Bexley will touch your heart in the most immense way. The beautiful friendship they have and the connection they feel will tug at your emotions bigtime! It certainly did for me!
This book is profoundly wonderful. I felt so much thoroughout reading it and I came out of it feeling like I didn’t know what to do next.
I felt immersed into the storyline, so much so that the characters felt like real friends.
How the author wrote something so truly wonderful is a real credit to her and her talent.
All I have left to say this is one of the BEST books of 2019!! Just read it for yourself or you are missing out on a story so extraordinary you will want to live in it!!
High school crushes can be devastating when the love is unrequited or worse still, not even recognized. That’s the situation we find Bexley and Tristan in, ten years after they first met at fifteen.
Tristan is a successful game developer and Bexley is doing well in her job too. They still are roommates even though they had long passed that need. They’re best friends, they laugh and joke. They see each other’s good side and the bad sides. They love each other, but both are hiding they truth from themselves as well as the other.
Tristan has had several long standing relationships, but Bex only dates guys for a maximum of seven dates. Few have made it to seven, none have reached the ever elusive eighth date. The date which proves they are ‘meant’ for each other.
It’s taken Tristan a decade to finally man up to his feelings for his best friend but after watching her doubt herself over the last guy she dated, he’s ready. It’s now or never!
They know each other inside and out, but can their friendship stand the change or will they mess up the best thing they ever had?
This was a super sweet, warm-hearted and sexy story. Bex had a little bit of a kinky side to her that hunky Tris was more than willing to explore with her. These two had a volcanic chemistry and it took very little for it to explode. Thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing story.
***MAY CONTAIN A SPOILER!***
Every time I read one of D. Kelly’s books I’m sucked in from the very beginning until the very end!
Tristan and Bexley have been friends for 10 years, she calls her dating the Dating Roulette, the guy has to make to seven dates before he becomes her forever!
Tristan has been in love with Bexley for that 10 years but the bro code and all has kept them apart!
Will Tristan and Bexley come to realize they are each other’s forever or will one misunderstanding keep them apart?
