Making a reality dating show out of Pride & Prejudice. Who would have thunk it? It was a delightful book and a very fun read. Having modern girls go back to dressing and acting like they lived in the Regency period was hilarious. I loved Emma and how snarky she could be. The characters were great and spot on with the different women vying for Darcy’s attention. Very good romance and can’t wait to see what happens next with Emma & Sebastian.

The first book in the Love Manor Romantic Comedy series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Emma Brady and wannabe Mr. Darcy, Sebastian Huntington-Ross had me laughing as I read. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Emma Brady is a clothing designer who reluctantly goes on a Bachelor show to promote her new active-wear line. She has her doubts whether this is a smart thing to do or not. A reality show might enhance her business, but the annoying Sebastian is probably not worth the aggravation. Emma sees Sebastian Huntington-Ross (our “Mr. Darcy”) as smug, arrogant and wants nothing at all to do with him. But getting to know him does begin to change her mind. Watching the two of them together was actually fun.
By the time she starts to notice Sebastian’s chiseled jaw, broad shoulders, and awesome accent, she finds out Sebastian has his own reasons for being on the show. Will Emma avoid him? Or will she give him a chance to sweep her off her feet?
This was an adorable story with the wonderful touch of humor that I crave in a book. The characters were delightful and endearing! Grab your copy and enjoy this well-done story that will entice you to read it all over again! (And the bookcover is awesome!)
Hilarious:
What a delightful book! It was witty and funny and had me chuckling throughout. The author definitely has a way with words and her many characterizations were spot on.
Both Emma and Sebastian had agreed to be on the Bachelor type reality TV show (with a Regency twist) for reasons other than finding true love. What they didn’t expect was falling for each other! I liked that Emma wasn’t pretentious and nor did she take herself too seriously. Being told solely from the heroine’s point of view made Sebastian that much more elusive and I was eager to find out more about him as the story progressed.
It was a clean rom-com that is sure to bring some humour and lightness to your day. I loved the modern references to Jane Austen’s literary world that weren’t over the top or too literal as is often the case. Now I can’t wait for the sequel “Marrying Mr. Darcy” due out November 10, 2020.

I have never laughed so much with a book, at the same time it is very romantic. I love Jane Austen and I read and watched the movie and BBC adaptations several times, and I have to say that of several of the stories based on Pride and Prejudice that I have seen or read this is one of the best.

Emma joined a match making game shoe (like the Bachelor) in order to shoe the world their fashion line “Timothys”.
I was smiling/laughing in most of the story. Even in the beginning, it will entice you esp the time she and Mr Fake Darcy met!!! (It is quite long but enjoyed it very much). Though she is Emma, all the time I feel she was Elizabeth. This is a must read for all P & P/JA fans.

Perfectly Glorious Romantic Comedy
This author writes the best romantic comedies! This story is clean and fun. It is the first in a series but is complete in itself. The story moves right along with a young entrepreneur getting a spot on a dating show. Her goal is to promote her brand of activewear. The book is very funny and would make a hilarious movie. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This story has it all, humor, tensions, feels, and romance.
Great well rounded characters that become our friends.
The plot is full of twists and turns that keep you reading no matter what.
Eagerly awaiting the next book from this wonderful author, Kate O’Keeffe.
An enjoyable romantic comedy: Emma and Sebastian start off at a tumble on the red carpet in a dating reality show. (She’s only there to pug her active wear line but if found out she’ll be kicked off.) When they meet, she finds him pompous and arrogant, he finds her entertaining and feisty. She doesn’t want anything to do with him but must act like she does. He likes that she isn’t catering to him. Then there’s all the rest of the women vying for his affection/attention.
It’s a very entertaining, well-developed story and I highly recommend it
If stories about reality-television romance are a guilty pleasure, then fans of Austen need to be wary. This book will give you some, “Why can’t this story-line be my reality?” envy. I would actually sign up to meet a “modern day Darcy” like Sebastian! The story was the perfect blend of modern Austen meets humorous, reality TV! Pull out your popcorn! This trope will be your new “thing”.
Note: I would say that this book is definitely PG 13 for language.

I am a huge fan of this author and her latest boom was a great read. Easy to read and a lot of fun and a great way to escape in this current carzy world. I cant wait for the next book
This is a more than delightful story including a dating show, young love, endearing characters and a few rude girls thrown in as well. The back and forth humor had me smiling and even chuckling out loud. A few tense moments are a must in everyone’s dating life and these are handled well. The descriptions of the areas where they visited were done well making it easy to picture. I think the bantering back and forth between everyone was my favorite part. I do hope there more as I’m ready to read all of these thoroughly enjoyable books
What a fun and refreshing book! A hilarious rom com set in a very unconventional setting: a reality dating show staged to approximate life in 1813 (a la Jane Austin). The characters are all larger than life and pop off the page and the book is over before you know it! You know it’s a great book when you feel like you are watching the story in your mind rather than reading it on a page!
This was such a fun read! I’m almost embarrassed to admit I’ve never read or watched pride and prejudice, but I’ve watched a few seasons of the Bachelor, so I was thoroughly entertained. I’m sure there was plenty that I missed having not been aware of the Jane Austin references, but just know you can still enjoy this book
I laughed so hard my sides still hurt. In this adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with a reality-TV spin, we get humor, sweetness, angst, drama, and a dose of just plain crazy. Emma is just adorable. She’s the everywoman-kind of character that I can relate to easily. She’s occasionally clumsy, often snarky, and someone I just couldn’t help but cheer on to victory. Sebastian could be the poster child for the classic British reserve and stiff upper lip. But he’s hiding a world of secrets that could bring them closer or tear them all apart. I think this is the first book I’ve read from this author, but it certainly won’t be my last.

Cute, fast-moving, with a down-home gal and a real McCoy British toff
I just ate this story up. Emma the heroine is witty and feisty; Sebastian (“Mr. Darcy”) is a landed British gent with a hidden agenda and a manner about him that really evokes Jane Austen’s starchy Pride and Prejudice hero. The reality show dating contest is a weird way for these two to meet but their story in many ways mirrors the original Austen couple’s dynamic but with a totally modern vibe.
With a major twist I never saw coming and a surprise at the end, I loved the plot, the characters, the pace and the writing.
“Neither of us went into this thing looking for the other. But somehow we found each other.”
While I’ve never read the original Pride and Prejudice (gasp!) nor watched a single episode of The Bachelor (double-gasp!), this lovely, delightful, and funny story has everything I’m looking for in a rom-com: main characters I can root for (Emma and Sebastian are simply adorable), lots of witty banter between the “Lizzies” and Sebatian, and swoon-worthy kisses.
Plus, my geeky little heart was extraordinarily happy at the mention of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies AND “life, the universe, everything.”
42/5 highly entertaining stars
Holy heart eyes. I completely loved this book. The entire reality dating show plot was done very well, but what makes this DATING MR. DARCY great is the heart stopping, sigh inducing romance.
I was totally immersed in this story. Emma was so funny, and Sebastian so swoon worthy. Why are you reading this when you could be reading DATING MR. DARCY?

Wow-just wow! Who would have thought to combine Pride and Prejudice with The Bachelor! This story was so sweet and romantic with a side of catty and funny! I was laughing and cheering on the ”Lizzies”. I can’t wait to read more of Emma and Sebastian’s story!

A book that combines “Pride and Prejudice” with a Bachelor-like dating show? Yes, please! I was excited to read Kate O’Keeffe’s latest novel the moment I heard about it, and “Dating Mr. Darcy” didn’t disappoint. From Emma’s spectacular entrance in front of the cameras to the book’s heartwarming ending, I laughed, I cheered, and I swooned. Sebastian is as dreamy a hero as the original Mr. Darcy. A few other Austen characters pop in, too, each adding to the story. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
