I want to succeed where my father failed. And I’m pinning all my hopes on a handsome werewolf stranger… him in place of my usual hook-ups. Matthew happens to be my type. He’s willing to consult, and willing to let me use him in any way I choose – as soon as I find myself in the mood for it. I can date him if I want, or bypass all that nonsense.
I plan to get my money’s worth out of him, after all…
Author’s Note: This is a stand alone with an HEA. Intended for 18+

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Date With A Werewolf by Lisa Daniels is the second book in the Date Monsters Shifter Agency. I really enjoyed this read. This quick read basically reads as stand alone. The characters are emotionally charged and I think the family dysfunction is really handled well. A great anytime read.

Well worth reading!
This was a fun story and was enjoyable. Alice wants to keep her family farm while her sisters are not as enthusiastic about it. Alice was a great character and I liked the chemistry between her and Mathew. Mathew is a shifter and comes to help her make something of the place. Lots of family dynamics between the sisters and it was great to see them come together. Some steam and an HEA. Loved it!
This book has a good storyline and fast relatively fast paced. The characters were well developed and likeable especially the hero. It’s not too steamy, but it’s more entertaining than anything.

This is a pretty good shifter romance. Poor girl has issues with her dead father, her sisters and her ranch. She needs help! She also has a strong libido and likes dating shifters from the shifters website. Enter a werewolf with problems of his own and the chemistry is set to react. I enjoyed the book and recommend it. 🙂

It was a strange funeral for Jacob Arnetto with only 4 people attending, 3 of them his daughters, the eldest of whom did not want to even make an appearance because she hated him so much. The fourth attendee was Uncle Boyd, Jacob’s half-brother who still lived at the homestead and took care of the livestock. There were no kind words to be spoken about him, though Alice tried. None of them, however, shed a tear for his passing.
The four had another meeting they needed to have to decide on what to do with the ranch. Regina, the hateful and cruel oldest, wanted it sold. The others wanted to keep it, Alice wanting to try to make it profitable, Boyd to continue working with the horses, and Jasmine to have a place to stay for free while she and her girlfriend saved to buy their own place. But Alice needed help with their dilapidated home. In the Date Monters app she uses for dates, there is a section for getting temporary help. Matthew Frey, a lawyer and a shifter with both business and ranch experience, agrees to help her reach her goal. Can he make the ranch what Alice wants it to be? Will he find something for himself along the way?
This is definitely not one of the author’s best books. The family dynamic is depressing and reeks of failure and broken spirits, totally dysfunctional. It felt like I had to push myself through the pages and only my respect for this author kept me reading. I didn’t like most of the characters. I know they had a tough life, but continuing to take out your issues on other is not attractive. I actually felt sorry for Matthew coming into this awful situation, but he made the book far more interesting the way he easily assessed situations and asked good questions. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series to make sure the author gets back to her awesome writing and chalk this one up to a slow day.
A nice quick read. I loved the storyline and characters. Alice the youngest of three sisters wants to erase the bad memories associated with her childhood home and with help from Matthew, from the Date Monsters Agency, he’ll hopefully make her dream come true. Unfortunately, her sisters are not all in agreement. Not only does she have to deal with the drama between her and her sisters, the sexual tension between her and Matthew, but she now must accept help from a male chauvinist pig. Alice may be the youngest, but she is very strong, brave, and smart. While she doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do with her life she is not afraid to go after what she does want and if she must deal with a jerk or two to get the job done then that’s exactly what she’ll do. I love reading about strong intelligent women doing it for themselves and this story provides that and more. It doesn’t hurt to have a bit of steam either, and the scenes between her and Matthew really hits the spot and will leave you breathless. This story was very entertaining and a real pleasure to read.
*spoilers*
I never expected a story like this one. I have read a lot of shifter books, but this one is differnt. The story line is well written, laid out and put together. I would recommend this book. This is not the normal shifter story. It is very unique. Who thought shifters and humans could live with each other!

Once Alice set her mind to breathing new life into the family ranch, she was all
In. Using the project aspect of the Date Monsters app brought her a hunky werewolf with ranch and business acumen.
Eldest sister Regina was most damaged and abused by their now deceased alcoholic father, and she seems determined to see rebuilding efforts fail.
Middle sister Chloe with her partner Chloe in tow want peace and a place to recoup while saving for a new home to share with her beloved.
Matthew is the son of an Alpha werewolf- likely a pack alpha. He settles the family squabbles, fights – legal and honor related, and his firm is hopping. Frustratingly, his family expects results ASAP – free.
Project work allows him to feel useful, and see work from beginning to end- and get a bit of credit for being involved.
A sexy and sweet couple, despite themselves.
Fun and good things to be had ahead – if they relent and work things out together.
Fun and sexy KU read!
I got an advance copy of this book from Booksprout. I read it on Kindle Unlimited. I read or borrowed most of the books in this series from Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
This the second in the series. They are each standalones. After their fathers death, 3 sisters inherit their childhood ranch. Alice used a dating app to hire help to rebuild it. Matthew seemed to be perfect for the job. And if there are any extra benefits to the arrangement, it would be a bonus right. When their contract is up, will they have a future together. A great romance. The only reason I did not give it five stars, the shifter element was missing. It was mentioned, but that was it. Maybe the next one will include a little more of it.

Alice gave up college to take care of her I’ll father. As the youngest she was spared a lot of the abuse her older two sisters received. When he died Alice wanted to make the inherited ranch into a place of happiness and good memories. She we looking through Date a Monster App when her sister says that it can be used to find people who can help her with what she wants with the ranch. Alice thinks two birds and one stone, not too bad. Matthew is a werewolf and a lawyer. He dad always calls him to help with one of his family/pack members when they are in trouble. His dad doesn’t like dealing with the others in Matthew’s office, even though they are good. Alice was resistance from her oldest sister Regina and her other sister Jasmine isn’t committed either way. Matthew accepts the contract but finds more than just the contract. Alice and her family are broken. Can the ranch become what she wants it to be? Can Matthew get out from under his family and find what he didn’t know he was looking for? I am leaving this review for having received the ARC but I do so gladly because this story has many facets to it. There is a broken family, a broken ranch, a chauvinistic planner, and new feelings that get sorted in this winding tale of love. The characters have great chemistry and you find out why they act the way they do.You will not be disappointed with this book and will want to keep reading until you are finished. This is another great story in the Date a Monster series. It will tug at your heart, in the most enjoyable way.

Alice doesn’t want to just save the family ranch, she wants to transform it into a place for happy memories. Erasing the painful past of her home will take a great deal of work and specialized expertise. The hook up site Alice uses to ease her loneliness provides a contractor that will help make her vision a reality. And if they enjoy each other’s company on a personal level then so much the better. Alice is a woman with a painful past, a burning vision for her future. Matthew is a competent man with deep shifter family issues. The ranch gives him a reason to be away from the insanity of his pack. Together they will build something special. Until Matthew rides off into the sunset. Will Alice be worth riding back for? This is a solid story with likable characters. There is excellent relationship interaction with all of the characters. This is a family I would enjoy reading other stories about.

Three and a half stars.
This is a different kind of shifter story where I wondered why it was written as a shifter. I did like the story of Alice and her sisters. Matthew’s story was a little muddled due to the number of relatives and all the different problems. There were some sexy scenes but I thought it was missing a lot in the passion department; it was just lust. The story is worth reading, just don’t expect too much.

Alice and her 2 sisters survived their brutal childhood, but their memories still haunt them after their cruel father dies. Alice wants to make their family ranch a success, over sisterly objections, but doesn’t know how to go about it. She turns to Date Monsters and chooses Matthew. Matthew is not impressed with the ranch, but is intrigued with the challenge – and also with Alice. Date with a Werewolf is a story of hope, determination, and overcoming past wounds which I recommend.
