He accepts my request within hours. And when I meet him…
He’s even more handsome in the flesh.
It’s all a lie.
We have to pretend for one week that we’re dating.
But I’m not sure I can pretend.
I think I might be starting to develop real feelings…
And that’s a huge problem.

Date With A Dragon: Class reunions can make you do crazy things, eh? At the tenth year reunion, Lena may have succumbed to a little partner envy and created the biggest, bestest partner. Oskar, entitled son of Date Monster’s owner steps up. Lena, puts wishes of others before her own would not seem a good partner for Oskar, but they fit. Just by their natures, this couple indulge in some hysterically funny scenes. The intrigue, the drama, the fun! Nice story. Can Lena and Oskar make their relationship look real? Does Oskar let his feelings rule? Can Lena calm down enough to appreciate her man/dragon? Is the wainright family for real? Can’t wait to hear how the rest of the town starts the rest of their lives.
Date With A Werewolf: Nice story. Matthew was a good guy taking the contract when he had a busy law practice and constantly helping his family solve their legal issues. The contract was to help Alice bring the farm back to its former glory and become profitable. Alice being the baby of the Arnetto family, naturally had life a little easier than her sisters. Children raised in an abusive household by broken parents sets the stage for implementation of flawed logic, flogic in how some people choose to conduct their lives. Can Matthew succeed in turning Arnetto farm around? Do Jasmine and Regina agree with Chloe’s plan? Can Matthew and Alice move beyond the contract?
Date With A Bear: Regina is working with her sisters on the Arnetto ranch. Someone is killing the cattle, so Gina hires a bear shifter, Oswin to protect her family’s assets. Oswin sees through her gruff to her inner woman. She spent her earlier life protecting her sisters from their father’s poison. Aubrette and Oswin had an agreement to be each other’s backup, just in case. Aubrette took the pledge seriously while Oswin didn’t. Ruh, roh! Aubrette, Rosewyn and Darren were on bodyguard duty with him. Reg found out her dad owed someone money and hadn’t paid it back. I understand where Regina is coming from but she is not strategic considering all the risks she takes. Will Regina find her HEA? Will she find the person responsible for trying to sabotage their ranch? Will Oswin find the inner beauty of Regina? Nice story. Good job Ms Daniels
Fun Set of Shifter Novels
This box contains four novels in the Date Monsters series. The premise behind the entire series is that there is an agency that hires out a variety of shifters for different types of jobs, from sexy escort services to business consultants to bodyguards. The latter two may also include an element of the former mixed in. I’ll talk a little about each book below.
Date with a Dragon: In a very amusing scene, Lena has stuck her foot in it, stating that she has a hot relationship with an out-of-town dragon shifter… all because she doesn’t want to be a loser at her 10-year class reunion. She goes online and hires a shifter to be her date for the week, culminating in the reunion. Oskar, the wealthy son of the owner of the Date Monsters agency, is the one who says yes to her request (even though it is for far less than his usual fee). In the week leading up to the reunion, they to get to know each other, and a genuine attraction grows between them (though he is quite surprised at the way it is turning out). Will it all go up in flames, or will the fake boyfriend turn into a real one? This book had so many funny scenes. There is a rich vein of humor running through this book, starting right the very first moment. Lena is a people pleaser; Oskar is entitled and arrogant. But underneath it all, they are decent people who come to a better understanding of themselves and each other. The book does use a fair amount of profanity, so if you have an issue with that, you might want to stay away. There’s some suggestive talk throughout, but it doesn’t get too steamy until the end. In all, this is a delightful short dragon shifter romance that is a perfect way to while away a few hours.
Date with a Werewolf: While I like the hero in this book, and I love following his thoughts, I could never quite identify with the heroine, so this book didn’t quite work for me. I think I was turned off at first by the level of profanity, as I don’t remember that being as much of an issue in the other books I’ve read by her. I am just turned off by excessive profanity in books, as I think they tend to be the crutch of authors who don’t write so well (and I don’t believe this author falls in that category). I grew up reading books that didn’t have a lot of profanity, so it is always jarring when I read such in books. I also didn’t like her cavalier attitude about sex. In this book, the relationships between the sisters are fraught with some tension, and the hero actually walks into a circumstance that is perhaps more than he bargained for, with the state of the dilapidation of the ranch as well as the broken family relationships between the siblings due to their upbringing. I wish I could say that I liked this more, because I do like most of the other books by this author, but this one just didn’t do it for me.
Date with a Bear: This one follows on the last story featuring the sister ranch owners. This time, it’s Regina’s turn to be the focus. She is the eldest of the sisters and the one who took the brunt of their father’s abuse when they were children. Not only are cattle going missing on the ranch, but Regina is receiving death threats and other verbal harassment, so they bring in a family of bear shifters as bodyguards. Oswin becomes Regina’s personal bodyguard, and he gets to know the real woman beneath the prickly exterior. Together, they get to the bottom of what is happening on the ranch.
Date with a Tiger: In this one, the heroine decides to use someone from the Date Monsters agency play her fake boyfriend. Will it stay fake? Will her mother believe what’s going on?
This box set is filled with shifters who are part of the Date Monster website. Small town shifter romances with likable characters, drama, humor, lust and sweet love stories. Here’s a review of one of my favorite stories in this box set:
Date With A Dragon:
Lena, a small town Librarian, needs a date/fake boyfriend for her high school reunion so she goes on the Date Monsters website to hire a dragon shifter to help her out. Oskar a dragon shifter agrees to be Lena’s fake boyfriend for a week but they end out falling for each other. This is a small town shifter romance with likable characters. I really enjoyed reading this shifter story filled with drama, humor, romance and a sweet love story.
Well worth reading!
These are four stories about humans that for various reasons need/want to date a “monster”. The shifters are part of the agency for various reasons also. They each are matched up and together, human and shifter. The both have issues that they need to work through but they come to realizations. Each story is different situation and various types of shifters. I am leaving this review for receiving the ARC but I do so gladly because these stories are easy to read and are very enjoyable. The real life problems add to the stories and having a shifter “monster” to help out is the fantastic fantasy. The sexy shifters help out the lovely ladies and the ladies give the shifters something to think out. This box set is very engaging and you want to keep reading until the books are finished and then you want to read more. The characters have great chemistry and the story lines keep your attention and give you various scenarios. You will not be disappointed with this box set. It is well worth the time, enjoy.

Where do you go when you need an extra special date, a professional assistant WITH benefits, a bodyguard to protect you yet fulfill your fantasies, or just a temporary hottie to get your over-bearing mother off your back?
You scroll through the Date Monsters Shifter Agency app!
The quiet little mining town of Geevor is about to be shaken up, as four different women looking to change their situations hire shifter men to fulfill their needs.
Lena’s looking for a very specific shifter to take to her reunion to save face after a run-in with the Queen Bee from her past, while lonely Alice is looking for a warm body with business experience while trying to pull her ranch homestead from the ashes of it’s dark past in order to create a thriving business and hopefully form a connection with her distant sisters. Regina needs a bodyguard to protect her while she searches for the person who’s trying to destroy the ranch her sister is trying so hard to rebuild, and Jenna is a small town cop who is juggling both her over-bearing mother’s demands, and her need to protect the sisters and their ranch from on-going violence, and the townspeople of Geevor.
The characters are all strong, but flawed in their own way. I would have preferred some of them to be fleshed out a bit more, and a few characters were just plain frustrating to me, but that’s real life; you’re never going to love everyone all the time, and without some issues, there’s no story. The stories are not sappy, not unbelievable, and they offer the reader drama, a little romance, mild sex scenes, plenty of action, resolution, and growth in a quick, easy read for those that love everything and anything shifter-related.
This collection offers you 4 complete HEA’s with 4 different couples, and no cliffhangers.

Geevor is usually a small sleepy town with the biggest problems being stolen firewood and wandering goats. But there are some women who are shaking things up, finding handsome shifters on a special dating site. Dragon, werewolf, bear, and tigers will be hot in the bedrooms, and problem solvers in the businesses. What starts as a contract may develope into some Happily Ever Afters. But the roads are paved with very real dangers, very real emotions that will test them all. Each book can stand on its own, but together they create a good picture of strong women who still need strong men in their lives.

But when the mean girl figured everything out and turned things around on Lena she caved and ended things with Oskar in a big way. Will Oskar give her a chance to explain why? All the novels revolve around Geevor, a seemingly quiet haven that has more than its share of rivalries, greedy agendas, and shifter attraction. This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Date Monster Shifter Agency by Lisa Daniels is a Paranormal Box Set. I really enjoyed these reads! I thought the Date Monsters app was genius. Here is a box set that will have you grabbing a quiet place, your fav beverage and a couple of hours of sexy, humorous and addictive entertainment. The storyline is sweet and harsh, but serves as an amazing vehicle for this set of story-linked reads. (This is a Mature Readers Only read.) The only issue I had…. I wanted MORE!
This honest and voluntary review was made possible by reading a copy through Booksprout.
This Box Set Includes: Date with a Dragon, Date with a Werewolf, Date with a Bear, and Date with a Tiger. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what you will find in this excellent collection!
*** Reviewing DATE WITH A DRAGON ***
Lena Tate, a librarian working in the small mining town of Geevor, Wyoming, was confronted with the Facebook announcement of her 10-year class reunion. Everyone in the picture was already successful and made her feel like she didn’t measure up. However, no one refused an invitation from Chloe Galer, the woman organizing the reunion, the most popular girl that year – so Lena reluctantly accepted.
When Chloe, her husband, Tina, and her ex-boyfriend Brett walked into the library, Chloe started bragging on her werewolf husband’s skills, so Lena immediately responded that nothing compared to a dragon, implying her own experience with the strongest and rarest shifter. Her lie forced her to have to find a dragon to attend the reunion with her or lose face! All she had wanted was to seem successful like everyone else! She was horrified at what she had done!
Date-Monsters was Isaac Wainwright’s side company, and Oskar used it as well to help promote the site since his dad had started it. Not happy with anyone the system selected, he scrolled through the most recent entries and the subject line of one caught his attention. She seemed different from the other applicants. He didn’t like liars, but decided to help her out and accepted. His name alone would impress her old school buddies.
Lena stood outside the hotel and worried about her date. He was so out of her league! When he came downstairs to meet her, she could actually feel the dragon power coming from him and admired his amber eyes. Even his hand was much warmer than hers. His entire demeanor made her want to submit to him! Those dragon pheromones were powerful indeed! As Oskar’s PA, Katie, drove them around town, they asked each other some common questions from the list Katie had prepared. That way, when people asked, it at least sounded like they knew each other. Lena had Katie and Oskar chuckling at her story of accidentally setting her hair on fire in school. And Oskar teased her about her blushing when her knee touched his.
It was a wonderful week, both of them enjoying each other’s company. When Lena went to the restroom, Chloe followed and told her that her werewolf husband was affiliated with Date-Monsters – and he had access to her personal, private records! He knew that Oskar was hired to play the boyfriend. Chloe wanted Lena to be utterly humiliated for thinking she was better in snagging a dragon. So she threatened to tell everyone the truth unless Lena broke up with Oskar in public so that the entire class could watch – and she had to do it within the hour without telling Oskar what was going on! Lena was devastated. Could she do that to him? Totally embarrass him with a public breakup? And how would she ever face the small town neighbors who all knew her name?
This was an excellent book — a simple, fun, romantic story that was a joy to read! Many readers can probably relate (except for needing a dragon date) to Lena’s feelings as she tries to compare her life with theirs. She’s a sweet person, though, and the reader can’t help but cheer her on. Oskar is also at a point in his life where he should be settling down with someone he can love. Perhaps this fake date could help them both? Could a fake date with a dragon really turn to love? This was my favorite in the collection, but seriously, each one is awesome and provide you with excellent choices!
Date Monster is an app similar to Tinder – with the difference that this site hooks you up with shifters. There is another side of the app offering work services. In the four books of this boxed set 4 women use the app to either find a fake boyfriend or to have a work relationship with “bonus”. All stories are set in a small town and follow a certain story-line, but only two should be really read together.
The stories are entertaining, with a twist of danger to the romance. They are well-written and provide enjoyable entertainment.

There isn’t anything not to love about this set. The men are fantastic. The women are who they are and completely unapologetic.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a great box set. It has good heroine characters not damsels in distress. The men recognize their women strength and is not intimidated by it but revere it making them perfect matches. These interesting tales are full of action, danger, mystery and romance. Regina and Jenna are tough grounded women not afraid to face danger head on. Regina has a hard reputation shaped by a horrible past while Jenna is a female cop in a small town. Even as they are faced with constant attack against their character, they still do what is needed to stop the bad guys. Alice may be the youngest, but she is just as strong willed, savvy, intelligent and forceful when needed. The author did a fantastic job with connecting each story. They were all enjoyable and very entertaining, definitely worth giving a read.
