Mary Ann Nielsen lives by her one-strike-and-you’re-out dating policy, but she’s always open to meeting the right guy. When she accidentally rear-ends handsome Trevor Brooks on her way to a charity auction to buy back her beloved grandmother’s long lost bracelet, she figures this unconventional meeting could at least turn into a hot date. Wrong. Trevor is annoyingly responsible and more concerned … concerned with insurance reports than responding to her flirting so he earns three strikes right off the bat.
Flustered from the car accident and being rejected by gorgeous Trevor, Mary Ann mistakenly bids on the wrong auction item and loses out on reclaiming her grandmother’s bracelet. Instead, she wins four dates on a reality TV show with none other than stuffy Trevor Brooks. Now she’s broke and the only way to get the money to buy back her special family heirloom is to win the grand prize money from the televised couples competition by convincing the audience that she and Trevor are in love.
While dating Trevor on the show, Mary Ann discovers the reliable analyst is fun and kind-hearted. In fact, the more she finds out about him the more she starts to fall for him. Could giving Trevor a second chance mean winning not just the TV show and her grandmother’s bracelet but the love that Mary Ann has always dreamed of?

Funny cute and romantic
It’s a good simple romance, well written, tender and funny especially in the first part thanks to its two great heroes but who because of their first meeting cannot bear each other.
Mary Ann wants to buy her grandmother’s bracelet at a charity sale, but has an accident and she bumps into Trevor’s car. She asks a friend to bid for her item, but she’s wrong and she wins a romantic reality show with a man. If they win, she would have enough money to buy the bracelet, but the man is none other than Trevor. The trials can be quite funny and slowly, Mary Ann and Trevor get closer.

I enjoyed this story a lot more than I was expecting to. Mary Ann is flighty and impulsive, but those traits hide a surprisingly tender heart. I really liked Trevor. He may start out looking like a stuffed shirt, yet he’s another one who’s hiding emotional depths that are more than I was expecting. My heart nearly broke multiple times for how much Mary Ann devalued herself. Thankfully the reality show challenges were fun and silly and helped to break up some of the ‘heavier’ scenes.

Another quirky, fun book by Susan Hatler! This is book ten in the Better Date Than Never series and I think it is the best one yet!
Mary Ann and Trevor complement each other so perfectly that the reader felt like they would be able to recognize them anywhere just by how they interact with each other. I certainly hope that this is not the last book we will see in this series because I am not ready for it to end anytime soon!

Mary Ann felt she came in second to her sister growing up. Her grandmother gave her a bracelet to help her feel brave. Trevor and his family needed help from a homeless outreach after they lost their home when he was a kid. He’d like to give something back.
A bit of a collision, and a lot of confusion result in a dating game dilemma, or several
In the end, both Trevor and Mary Ann must trust the truths in their hearts if they want to find their own happy endings

The author has, again, given us characters that we can connect with. The story is written with humor as well as love. Somehow, things do not go completely to plan.

A quick and cute romance between two people who do not seem to be at all compatiable. However, Mary Ann and Trevor are adorable together and they balance each other out as they compete on a couple’s reality show until Mary Ann sees Trevor with another woman. An enjoyable read that packed an emotional punch.

Great love story! Susan Hatler did it again. Trevor and MaryAnn enter a contest to win $20,000 prize money. The only catch is you have to show you falling in love with each other. Can MaryAnn stop from falling for Trevor when she’s already given him three strikes? Or will they learn more about each other and can’t help gal in love. I couldn’t put the book down I wanted to know what was next.
