I thought this book was awesome, there was the perfect blend of action and steam in this story.
Jenny Foster is a fantastic story weaver I think which is probably why I devour any of her books I come across.
So yes I most definitely do recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a fantastic story to crawl into and get totally lost within its pages.
I really enjoyed reading this story because it was so different from your typical dragon story. Dasquian and Jora dreamt about about each other for a long time. They finally came to the conclusion that they needed to move on, fate decided that it was time for them to meet. And to make matter worse, they will have to marry another. I cannot wait to see how the story develops….

Oh dear, this is one heck of a fantastic book. Jenny Foster has done it again. Such a creative world with characters that are well defined, detailed customs and of course some major conflicts. I loved every bit of it. From Jora’s dreams to Dasquian’s evil father. This book has so much going for it. Dreaming about each other and just knowing you belong together and being told no? I loved that Dasquian wanted to protect Jora, but for her sake as well, he should have given her a hint of what they were up against. I loved how they fought for each other to the end.
This was a very interesting story from beginning to end. I love dragons and all things dragon like but the prologue set a different tone to this whole book. At times, I didn’t care for the heroine, she seemed more naive than most. But overall this was a good book. This probably will not be my favorite ‘dragon’ series but this was a refreshing story and I will be reading more from this author!
Overall: 3/5

Jenny Foster’s Dasquian, Claimed by the Black Dragon is a rousing adventure and wonderfully perfect dragon shifter fantasy tale. Shor Dasquian will do anything for the woman he loves, even if he needs to becime invincible to do it. No mere goddess is going to stop him…and we readers get the fun of tagging along. Well plotted, well written and with well crafted lead and supporting characters. Really, what more could you ask for? But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
This is an outstanding, action-packed & slightly dark dragon shifter romance that keeps the reader’s attention until the end.
The plot is intriguing & suspenseful with unexpected occurring incidents with unique & complex characters that have multi-layered personalities filled with emotional conflict & determination.
There is: cruel goddesses, dragon shifters, a defiant woman, human females, curses, a interfering father & councilor, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, drama, adventure, action, enemies, danger, violence, threats, conflict, manipulations, confusion, doubts, ceremonies, dreams/visions, jealousy, emotional turmoil, death, abduction, a magical stone, challenges, revenge, love, desire, happiness & some steam.
I enjoyed reading this dragon shifter romance and would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre.
What I love about this book and the preceding Betania Breed series is that there is continuous engaging conflict throughout. The two main characters don’t immediately have a happy union and fight a little conflict together on the side; but there is conflict within their feelings, secrets being kept, and it seems something constantly keeping them apart either physically or emotionally. There are conflicts from multiple angles, each character juggling different priorities, and balancing their compassion for others.
I found I felt an instant investment in these characters before even knowing much about them. I’ve been thinking for a while what it is exactly about how these characters are written that illicit this feeling and mental engagement, but I have yet to put my finger on it exactly. Whatever it is, it draws me close to each of the characters right off the bat, making me eager to turn the page to find out what happens next.
Dasquian and Jora find themselves in a situation where they are actors made to carry out the act of revenge with their decisions, actions, and ideas of fate. If they can carry out this act of revenge, they have a chance at being able to escape the planet and be together. They are also actors in a sense that they are made to behave according to the whims of Dasquian’s father who does not want the two of them to be together. In order to keep each other safe, they have to play along that they are willing to take another as a mate. With different parties pulling their strings, the couple may need to find a way to discover their own sense of agency and take the reins for themselves.

Dasquian – Claimed by the Black Dragon is a fantasy/sci-fi romance that is cloaked in a delicious darkness. It combines those elements as well as more than a nod to Greek Mythology into a story that is as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming. Our hero first makes an appearance in the Betania Breed world, but you don’t need to be familiar with him from there to understand and enjoy him and his story here. He is the hero with a darkness that is at the same time frightening and compelling. Jora our heroine is also a combination of strong and sassy and rebellious and resigned. She leaves for Cors to save her dad and literally finds the man of her dreams. By story’s end, some questions are answered and others remain unresolved. It is these unanswered questions that leave me hoping that we will hear more from Dasquien and Jora.
