I’ve never been one to follow the rules…or the law, for that matter. But when you find yourself behind bars and being offered the opportunity of a lifetime, you take it. I agreed to race motorcycles for Johnny Knight. A very powerful man who wanted me on his team, even knowing I was a liability. But will he still feel that way once he finds out that I had a one-night stand with his daughter? I … I didn’t mean for it to happen. I didn’t even know who she was until she walked into his office wearing my shirt from the night before. Too bad that was all she wanted-one night. It really didn’t matter who she was, I wanted more. So when she ran, I followed. I should have let her go. That would have been best for both of us. But I have never done what was right, why start now? I’ve always been willing to take a risk, no matter what it would cost me. And I knew she was worth it all.
I’m Erik Dashling, you can call me Dash. This is my story of how I willing risked one dream for another. But everyone knows that not all dreams come true.

I always try to avoid spoilers in my reviews, but with this book I want to even more, because I went in blind and I think you need to for this read to hit properly, so I’m going to approach this review in a different way to my usual ones and hope that it entices you to read it.
.
Dash is not what you think he is from the first few chapters, once he meets Tabatha new sides of him surface and I love him
Tabatha is trying to find herself again after her recent end to a controlling relationship, but her connection with Dash is undeniable!
.
Their story is both heart warming and heart breaking. Any story that can physically cause your heart to drop into your stomach, fill you with knots of dread and make you cry ugly tears is worth a read in my opinion. So get the tissues ready and prepare to be BROKEN!
Heartbreakingly good story! Dash and Tabatha’s story was heartbreaking but so well told! A story about that once in a lifetime all consuming love that most only dream to experience. Hits all the feels!
I read Dash back in 2015 when this first came out but never wrote a review. Did a re read to refresh my memory! This was a good read and I loved Dash and Tabitha together but that ending killed me.
Tabitha and Dash met at one of his parties. She was going through a break up and he was celebrating his last moments of freedom before starting a new career. One thing lead to another & the next day she’s in her father’s office meeting his new racer, Dash – while wearing one of his shirts from the night before. From there begins their relationship full of highs and lows, ex’s that won’t go away, and misunderstandings. Just when you think they are finally both on the same page and free of drama the author pulls the rug out from under you and you are left reeling with what just happened?!?!
I’ve read almost all of this author’s books, and I should have known she was going to give my poor heart a wild and emotional ride! I still have a hangover from this book days later! All I can say is I’m in disbelief/mad/sad for putting my emotions through the ringer but I also can’t wait to see what she will be writing next!
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

I am going to go ahead and warn you that this book is sad. I cried so many times I think that I lost count and I didn’t want to be sad. I too had to take a ton of breaks while reading that I was just so frustrated with all the drama. When I say a lot of drama I mean there is a ton. A lot of it I felt was so unnecessary. Or when you would get over one drama there was another right one the heels of it. The characters and the way you get invested in them kind of makes up for that but them bam you sad so so sad. However I would think it was more Dash that i really liked than Tabitha. She drove me nuts. I guess it took me about half way through the book to feel like we were going to turn a corner but then you get to the end and I think I bounced between super sad and mad. Really mad. I usually really love Shantel’s books so devour them. I struggled with this one hard. And to be quiet honest I still don’t know exactly how I feel about this book.
This was an amazing book and build up. I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved seeing the banter. But the last few chapters – sorry But not a fan. Nevertheless it’s a solid good book. The pace was perfect. The love was real. Just hated the ending.
I love Shantel Tessier’s books and she is always a 1-Click Author but I wasn’t a fan of this book. I’m not much for Insta-Love but I can deal with it. But what I need in my life is a HEA. Those 2 reasons was the cause for a low rating. It may be good for others that like this sort of book, just not me. I have thoroughly enjoyed her recent books. She is an amazing author and I will always consider her 1-Click worthy.
I want start by saying that this is not my first Shantel Tessier book. I’ve read 6 of her books and really enjoyed them all. This one, however was not for me.
I had difficulty relating to both the hero and the heroine. A lot of that had to do with their age and maturity level. But, I know some people love this age level (college). There was a lot of back and forth, which became tiring. One character that I thoroughly enjoyed was the heroine’s father. He was everything that I thought a father should be.
The ending, that’s what I struggled with. I’m not going to give anything away, but this wasn’t the book for me. I’m sure there are plenty of readers who would love this book though.
So normally I adore anything Shantel writes but this one broke me. I’ve read the reviews and follow her on Facebook I knew this was an emotional book, but didn’t even know what I was getting myself into. I truly loved the story, but I honestly just couldn’t get on board with the ending at all. I’m your HEA type of girl. With everything that goes on in this world I escape that crazy world inside my books I read (I know silly but it’s true). This book had potential, I just wish it ended differently. If you enjoy a great story and emotional story this is absolutely the story for you. If your like me and like a HEA this is not the story for you, but I will say this it still reads amazing and if you can get through the emotional part I suggest you pick it up. Oh Dash my heart. And I read this book a little over 1.5 weeks ago and am not just getting up the energy to write about it.
3 stars for the story, minus 2 stars because you broke my dang heart
OMG what was that?…
All the feels.
I absolutely loved this book. I fell and I fell hard for Dash. Dash and Tabitha’s story starts out kind of crazy. But their love was so sweet and real. The last part of the book tore me into. I kept waiting for it to be a dream. I’m in a million pieces right now. Even with that said I want to know what happens next. This is a great story, be prepared for the tears. It is a definite Must Read.
This is one intense book and it takes a lot of effort to keep our emotions in control while reading this book. I always enjoy reading every shantel book and this book is asusual a rollercoaster!fast paced with all the misunderstandings and untold emotions this one does a number on you.I love the front cover picture very much too.
I loved this book! I usually do not read books that have you needing tissues handy since I am a huge baby, but I am so glad I read this rollercoaster ride! This had so much in it and the angst is very high. I loved Tabatha and Dash as well as some of the side characters. I recommend reading this wonderful book just be ready!
Y’all. I don’t even know where to start with this review… you meet two strong willed characters with broken pasts, and then you watch as they grow and learn in love together… then BAM, your heart is ripped out and I was ugly crying. This book made it to my top 5 and I’d love to see how more of their story ends.
Shantel Tessier loves to break hearts of her readers. Dash proved that irrevocably! What an intensely emotional ride this was! Drama, action, tension, heat, angst- everything attacked me in full power.
Dash is a reckless guy. Neglected and dissociated from parents, he literally doesn’t care abour rules and consequences. This adrenaline junkie loves danger and so motorcycle racing is right up to his alley. Now all changes when he meets Tabatha in a party. He is instantly enamoured by this firecracker. Unfortunately later it comes out that she is daughter of the team owner who just signed him for professional circuit. Also Tabatha is wounded, broken and hypersensitive soul. The past of their bad decisions are colliding with their future..can they make it to the other side safely?
This story was no less scary than a motorcycle racing ride. I swear I just couldn’t let my guards down. The storyline is explosive and volatile with dizzying twists and turns. I am so in love with Dash. His ability to love beyond his anger and hatred was amazing! He is a whole lot of rude and cocky and arrogant. But he is equally protective of Tabatha. Now her character gave me whiplash. I guess the Author wanted to write an honest character with all the flaws and darkness. She was impulsive and her decisions changed every once in a while. Her past relationships made her cagey and mistrustful. She does everything in extreme. The love. The hate. The sex. They are a toxic couple but they are so good for each other! But nothing…I mean nothing could prepare me for that ending. I am still not sure THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. I am just way too much emotionally devastated! Shock and mad don’t really express how broken my heart is!
Dash by Shantel Tessier is the kind of story that would test your limits. It’s the kind of story where the author will drive you crazy, you would want to curse her and yet acknowledge what a great story this is.
Received ARC for honest review
It is apparent from reading this that Dash is one of Shantel’s earlier works. I found it didn’t have the same “oomph” as her newer books. Also, this is a contemporary romance, and it seems that dark romance is really where the author shines.
Overall, it was a good book, but I found myself bored with it at times. Dash and Tabatha officially meet after a one night stand hookup. The day before, he was hired by her father to race on his motorcycle team after Dash was arrested. Neither of them know who each other is, until the next day. The book is about their blooming relationship. Although cute, the drama in this book was exhausting. If it’s not him, it’s her. Constantly fighting. I really don’t see how they fell in love.
I do have to say this book is redeemed a bit with that unexpected and shocking ending. It is something I genuinely did not see at all.
Overall, definitely not a favorite from this author. Glad I read it though, as it is part of her backlist.
I turned on the spoiler tag bc I don’t know if I can leave a review and not accidentally spoil the book. I enjoyed Dash. It drew me in from the beginning. There were a few flaws and if you’ve read Shantel’s newer work you can tell she’s improved so much with her writing.
Dash is a heartbreaking insta love and lost story. The angst is absolutely crazy! Every turn my chest was tight from emotion. The characters were slightly immature and this book was very fast paced. Almost too fast paced.
Then the book ended. My heart was broken. This book does not really have a normal HEA and if I knew this was how the book ended I probably wouldn’t have read it but that’s just my personal needs. If you don’t need your normal HEA then I definitely recommend this book!!!
Dash is the latest stand-alone novel by one of my favorite authors, Shantel Tessier. It didn’t start off real strong for me. Geez Louise… There was a lot of unnecessary drama that had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head. But that ending? That was my favorite part of the whole book. It was different, emotional and definitely one that I didn’t expect.
When Dash finds himself in trouble for speeding, it turns out to be a dream come true. He is offered the opportunity of a lifetime, racing motorcycles for Johnny Knight. Mr. Knight is quick to introduce him to his daughter Tabatha, and come to find out, she just so happens to be his one-night stand from the night before. The one he can’t stop thinking about. The one that he wants more with. He should just let that be the end, but he has never been one to do what’s right. He risks one dream for another, but things don’t go exactly as planned.
The moral of the story is to live life to the fullest because you never know what tomorrow holds. Be like Dash. Dream big. Take risks. Be happy. All in all, aside from the unnecessary drama, I absolutely loved this book. But I will warn you, it will tug at your heartstrings so please be sure and have some tissues handy. Five stars for Tabatha and Dash!
This book! WOW! This book has left me with a huge book hangover. Captivating story that had me on the edge of my seat. I don’t want to give anything away but this book. I know I’m just speechless. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
ckle up for a wild and emotional ride. I was wrapped up in the characters immediately. They had a chemistry that was pure fire and I couldn’t get enough. Each turn had me holding my breath. As the story unfolded I found myself even more wrapped up in the it was so easy to connect. It was fast paced and kept me on my toes. A beautifully told story and my heart will never beat the same.
As usual Shantel’s book are off the charts amazing and this was no different. From the very first page I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Dash is full of drama and holy hotness. After getting in trouble again for racing his bike Dash is offered a position to change his life and he takes it but he needs one last hurrah before he starts his new racing career. He spends his night parting and hooking up and in the morning he’s off to change his life in more then one way. You have to read this you wont be disappointed it is action packed and you can’t help but want to know what happens next.
