I’ve never been one to follow the rules…or the law, for that matter. But when you find yourself behind bars and being offered the opportunity of a lifetime, you take it. I agreed to race motorcycles for Johnny Knight. A very powerful man who wanted me on his team, even knowing I was a liability. But will he still feel that way once he finds out that I had a one-night stand with his daughter? I … I didn’t mean for it to happen. I didn’t even know who she was until she walked into his office wearing my shirt from the night before. Too bad that was all she wanted-one night. It really didn’t matter who she was, I wanted more. So when she ran, I followed. I should have let her go. That would have been best for both of us. But I have never done what was right, why start now? I’ve always been willing to take a risk, no matter what it would cost me. And I knew she was worth it all.
I’m Erik Dashling, you can call me Dash. This is my story of how I willing risked one dream for another. But everyone knows that not all dreams come true.

I read this book a few years ago. I thought it was good. I felt like it had enough drama. I really enjoyed the aspect of racing motorcycles. I thought the H/h were a good match. Bad boy meets bosses daughter. I was sad with the ending (why it’s a 4 star and not a 5 star) but I’m glad that in the end she had something so very special from a man that was very special to her. I would of loved to see a much different ending but sometimes that isn’t the outcome.
I was asked to review this book and this is my honest opinion.
I love this author!
I equally love and hate this book! Shantal is one of my all-time favorites, and I love this book, but I can honestly say it crushed my soul too! I HATE spoilers in reviews, so I will leave you with this: You may not love it, but you cannot miss Dash and Tabitha’s story! FIVE STARS!!
When Dash is offered the opportunity of a lifetime to drive motorcycles for Johnny Knight, he jumps at it. When he is introduced to his new boss’ daughter however, he realises that she is his previous 1-night stand. This is a good story which is filled with drama, heartbreak, emotion, mystery, and misunderstandings. The only down-side for me was that I struggled to engage with all the unnecessary drama, but this is just my opinion. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I’ve read quite a few books by Shantel Tessier and love them all but none of them has impacted me in such a way like this one. It’s by far my favorite. One I’ll remember for a long time.
Dash is a motorcycle racer. Always been a risk taker. His need for speed gets him in trouble. The last person he was expecting to see was Johnny Knight. To save him and offer him the opportunity of a lifetime. His dream job to race motorcycles. Dash wants to celebrate and have a party.
Tabatha just broke up with her boyfriend Roger. She needs to blow off some steam. Her best friend Jackie suggest they go to a party, the same one Dash is throwing. It’s perfect and exactly what she needs.
Seeing Tabatha for the first time makes Dash’s mouth water. She’s feisty, hot and the sexiest woman he’s ever seen. He knows about her break up and he’s willing to make her forget.
After a one-night stand, the last thing they expected was to see other again. Especially not in her father’s office signing a contract and wearing Dash’s shirt.
“You can win every award there is in the world but having the feeling of knowing that someone loves you—well, nothing could beat that. Because all those awards are just gonna sit on a shelf and collect dust. People will forget what you worked so hard to accomplish—that dream. But she will wake up every morning loving me. And every night knowing that I love her just as much.”
You need to read this book. The journey Dash and Tabitha go on..The love..My heart..it’s in bits. I’m quickly coming to realise that what you think you’re getting with this author’s work isn’t actually what you end up getting in the very best of ways. This is no different. This will take you on a wild ride. The only kind Dash would have.
I requested a copy of this in order to leave an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
No one warned me about this book. I am so upset about it. I loved Dash. He was always telling her she meant the world to him.
I loved her parents. They finally saw what Rodger did to her, and they realized how much he had taken from her. I hated his parents who repeatedly showed him he was unwanted…
The end… the little boy with the helmet. Oh my gosh my heart just broke. I loved this book in spite of the ending.
I loved this book so much. The tension and chemistry and all the love story that couldn’t be without ups and downs was just perfect.
Now, the ending was very unexpected and that’s why the less stars from me.
This book was interesting read. It started off slow, and it eventually picked up, and had a lot of drama. I did end up enjoying it.
Oh my heart y’all! I am not okay. I fell so in love with Dash and Tabatha’s story that I absolutely was a little destroyed when it was over. I wanted it to go on forever. But in a way, it will. Dash is one of those books that you will think about for a long time because it embeds itself deep in your heart. I ran the gamut of emotions with this book.
I will be completely honest. I ran across a review that contained spoilers a while back and so I actually didn’t read this book because I knew some of what was coming my way. However I went ahead and gave it a go now, months later. Even knowing going in what was ahead me I still felt every gut punching moment, every heartfelt emotion, the absolute heat and combustible chemistry between these characters. I couldn’t help but to connect and love these characters. Even the secondary characters are wonderful and funny and you can’t help but to love them as well.
This book was all around fantastic. Erik “Dash” Dashling was the hot adrenaline junkie, motorcycle racer that got brought to his knees by the gorgeous daughter of his boss, Tabatha.
Now, I’m not going to give anything away because I think you need to experience this book without spoilers, getting all the emotions thrown at you. But have tissues on the ready my friends. This will be one of those books that goes in the pile of books that emotionally gut you, but you would still do it all again.
I happen to think there is something kind of therapeutic about a devastatingly cleansing book cry and this book will definitely deliver that for you. It’s all about taking chances and living life to the fullest. It’s about not being afraid to take risks and to go after your dreams or knowing when you found the one who completes that dream. It’s really everything you didn’t even know you wanted out of Dash and Tabatha’s story and more.
I highly recommend this phenomenal emotionally gripping read. Six Cr8zySock Stars
Whoa! Talk and about HOTT and unexpectedly a tear jerker moment that threw me for a loop. Dash is a hot fast racer that is given a chance of a lifetime after he gets into some trouble. What he wasn’t expecting while celebrating his new endeavor was to meet Tabitha. Tabitha was just wanting to cheer up and party with her friend after her breakup. These two are fire and their chemistry is through the roof. Their story is crazy and a roller coaster ride of emotions, but it intrigued me from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.
I loved Dash! His and Tabatha’s story was a great ride. Dash won me over immediately. He loved so hard and was so sweet. I enjoyed his and Tabatha’s love story. That ending was bittersweet though.
5 MY POOR HEART STARS!! Not sure my heart will recover from this book. Dash and Tabatha will take you on reckless and fast ride….just the way Dash loves it. Their story killed my heart with all the feels…OMG, I can’t believe it still works after this book. You must read this book…you need Dash in your life.
This book is going to take you by storm and you will fall in love so easily with Dash and how amazing he is.
A one night stand between Dash and Tabatha and both these characters were hooked on each other. Their chemistry sizzled, the sexual tension was in abundance and they were just so easy to fall in love with.
Dash, an up and coming motorcycle racer with lots of promising talent finds out that his one-night stand is the daughter of his new boss. Not letting that fear him, he puts everything into making her his and although she tries to run from him, she can’t resist his charms.
Tabatha has just come out of a toxic relationship, not wanting anything serious with Dash, but there is just something about him that she can’t stay away from. That and all the orgasm’s he gives her!
Their journey is a lot of push and pull and I loved the way Dash went after Tabatha. Although I didn’t really like that she automatically went to him cheating when something was going wrong and she needed to trust him more.
Their journey is one of pure love and affection that I completely fell head over heels with. Just as things are turning around for this couple, tragedy strikes. Get the tissues ready and prepare for your heart to be ripped out, then put back just a little with the epilogue.
The story was intense with the love they share and one that totally consumed me, unable to put it down, then hit with a twist I so was not ready for and shattered my heart. Shantel wrote an incredible story, one I can’t imagine was easy to write and it’s going to stay with me for a long time.

Holy hell what a read! I normally stay away from super emotional books but I wanted to give this one a try, I cried so much while reading this story. Seriously make sure you are ready to boo boo ugly cry.
I loved the story, the relationship, all of the angst, and the steamy scenes were straight fire!
So this book has been on my TBR list for a long time now. I absolutely love other books by this author but this book had me hesitant based off of reviews I’ve read. But here we are after finally diving into this book. The story overall was a great read filled with loads of drama and push and pull between our main characters (maybe a tiny bit much of the drama) and creates a heartbreaking story of living life to its fullest. I’m not going to lie the ending I’m still trying to process and wish it was different however this book is definitely going to stay with me for awhile.
I was intrigued to try this book as from the blurb it seemed to be a break from the authors norm (of late) dark/suspense theme, and normally that’s something I wouldn’t pick up (black soul here), but I love the author so keen to give it a shot.
Unfortunately, for me, I struggled to connect with the characters throughout most of the book and felt the plot got lost a bit… or maybe it just felt like that to me as this self proclaimed suspense junkie is used to more action/more of a plot than just mainly sex/steam in a book. It could just be the head space I’m in, I’m sure a lot of people will enjoy this quick read. Having read all of the author’s latest books, I will say she has grown a lot as a writer since writing most of this but still showed promise of the talents she has today.
I think the real reason I struggled with this book is because I’m used to stronger characters from this author, ones with backbones and sass, but if you are looking for a lighter read focusing more on the steam and angst then this book will definitely be for you.
In saying all the above, every bit I didn’t like/enjoy was almost forgotten with the last 20% of the book, that last book saved it and made it all worthwhile. Sitting here in shock, it was almost as if it was a completely different book… Definitely made the rest worth it.
A solid 4 stars.
Oh man, where to start. This book has some ups and downs, but this ending is what lifted up the story.
Tabitha and Dash are two whirlwinds circling around each other and looking for a way to find their footing. There was a hell of a lot of banter between these two, which I appreciated, because I do love me a couple with some fight in them.
I’ll always give into a book that deals with some type of racing. I wish there was a little more of that written into this story. All in all, this was a nice comfortable read that I read in one day. But don’t let me fool you, you’ll be in for a nice surprise!
“You make me feel reckless,”
Emotional. Gut-Wrenching. Soul-Crushing.
I have sooo many feelings after finishing this book. I wasn’t expecting ANY of the things that happened. But we know Shantel, she holds no punches in her writing. If you’ve never read Shantel, buckle up.
Dash was such a captivating story. My eyes are puffy, my chest is hurting. Shantel has ruined me for my future reads.
Dash and Tabatha were incredible. Their story was spell-binding. I couldn’t put the book down. Their story will be one I will NEVER forget.
A book becomes more than just words when it stops feeling like a book and starts feeling like reality. One where you are sucked so deeply into it that you don’t even realize you’re reading anymore. Those are the books I live for. Dash was exactly that.
“She is a risk I’m willing to take.”
Damn. I was just literally knocked on my ass. Dash, the man, the book is EVERYTHING.
Get ready for the feels, ALL THE FEELS.
Dash has heart, passion, love and heartbreak, a definite must read.
*Side note* make sure you have the tissues at the ready.
Shantel knows how to take us on an emotional rollercoaster.
This story is about two ppl struggling to find there place in this world. And to each other. There chemistry and love for each other will leave you breathless. They have to go through so much to get together. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending yet. It’s not your typical HEA.
If you love angsts emotional little suspense romance. This book is for you. Shantel never disappoints. Her writing is amazing as always.
